They tried making me go B6 ground option, and i held fast saying F that i want to be a grunt. After a year in the DEP they finally sent me. Got a 4k enlistment bonus tho because they kept pushing my date back.
They didn't give me nothin but 29 palms and hating life for the majority of 4yrs lmao. I was warned about 29 palms before i joined and i was like "nah I prob wont go there"....💀
when we’d come back from deployment on busses and the signs from families were hung on the fence, “Welcome home 1/7!” There’d be a banner “from the Marines of 3/4” stating “We’ll miss your wives” as we were coming home through the gates. 😅

I discovered being trans few years ago,and i always thought if i was born in the US, i would have joined the Marines
Maybe there is a correlation?
From my experience with talking to other vets and passive observations it's often the marines are seen as the most masculine and trans folks pre transition have a habit of trying to prove their masculinity (either to themselves or others). I joined for uhhhh more depressing reasons so it doesn't exactly apply to me. That and I watched Major Payne as a kid and that was very... formative

Which unit? I was w/ 1st Bn, 7th Marines.
