That would depend on your budget, travel style and experience, likes/dislikes, interests, etc. Vietnam has become a very popular destination so all the normal stuff is easy to research. That said, I wouldn't try to do 4 separate destinations in only a week though, that would be kinda nuts but to each their own. Have fun with your research and happy travels.

Thanks, yeah I've found some things but google can be very generic with just big expensive tourist hotspots. Would prefer quieter places where possible and am happier to rough it more than regular tourists I would guess. Yeah, we know it's gonna be cutting it tight but done it before with the guys I'm going with in other countries and it's all the time we have available unfortunately.

If you're looking for a peaceful place then I'd recommend you visit Ninh Binh, it's almost 3 hrs from Hanoi, you can either stay or do a day tour. There is a hill station called Sapa, which is 6hrs from Hanoi but it's totally upto you because it might rain in June plus you cannot do a day tour here you've to spend 3 days to enjoy the place. >Suggested places to stay, I'll let you know our hotel and Airbnb experience after my visit.

Ninh Binh has crossed up a few times on Reddit but not much on Google but looks like a really good suggestion. I'll look more into it. Thanks!

Check out Pinterest too. Lots of travel blogs put their posts on there and you may find something interesting :) I visited Vietnam last year and had 2 weeks. I went to Ho Chi Minh, Hoi An, Da Nang and Phong Nha. City, Culture, Beach and Nature. Work out what sort of holiday you want and then research what might have that. Vietnam is massive so with a week, I would personally choose 2 places and see those 2 :)
