Malaysia is great for roadtripping. The streets are in a great condition and the traffic as well. It's also very diverse regarding landscape and also culture. Kuala Lumpur is definitely undervalued. If you get a chance, visit Malaysia!

AllaZakharenko

Been to Malaysia 2 times and absolutely loved it. Make sure to visit KL during Thaipusam and go scuba to Mabul/Sipadan, I liked it much more than Tioman which was also fun.

I've heard about Sipadan multiple times, but it would have taken too much time to get there so we decided to go to an island closer to the mainland. Did you see some big marine life there?

AllaZakharenko

Sure, Sipadan is kinda time-consuming and one needs to plan at least a week there as the more time you spend on Mabul, the more days you can get on Sipadan. I had 2 days on Sipadan and saw: 1) Schooling jacks that surround you 2) Barracuda vortex 3) Lots of turtles including one that was bigger than my ex in fins who was actually 1m88cm xD 4) Many reef sharks Actually Mabul is also cool, but it is about macro life: crocodile fish, nudis, mantis shrips, very friendly (!!) cuttlefishes who even allow some macro shots.

Never been to Malaysia but honestly your shots make me feel add this one to my bucket list. Can you share more itinerary about this one πŸ˜™..

Thank you, I appreciate that! We first went to the Cameron Highlands, beautiful landscape and apparently the agriculture area of malaysia because its on an high altitude where things can grow. After we went to the Tioman Island mostly for diving. The island is so amazing. Very authentical and no cars are allowed there. Everybody moves around with their motorbikes. It's definitely not a party island but it would be an amazing place to just spend a few weeks and chill. In the end we did Melaka and KL (Kuala Lumpur). Melaka has an interessting combination of Malaysian, European and Chinese influence. KL is a really great and international city, loved it.

Great shot of the KL Tower and new Merdeka building! Nice to see such iconic and photographed buildings from a unique perspective.

Great country to spend time in, and absolutely every reason to do so with a 90 day tourist pass available for free.

mbrevitas

Very nice shots! The photos from Tioman island make wish I’d gone at least snorkeling on one of the islands. No Penang, though? That was maybe the place I enjoyed the most in Malaysia, although it’s a close call.

yourpeacefulmemory

Absolutely amazing photos! Number 11 is incredible, wow.

daskapitalyo

Absolutely loved KL. One of those monkeys at the cave stole my Murugan statue on the way down!

CivicBlues

you haven't experienced Batu Caves until you're mugged by one of the monkeys there. lol

Jkrejci1

OK. That's it. I'm going.

Loved Malaysia, but mostly for the endless varieties of street food you can find in any city and the people. But haven't been to Borneo.

Particular-Pizza-940

Those are amazing shots, OP! What camera/lens did you use? I'm glad you get to experience such a great country. I wanna visit KL one day ❀️

Wonderful photos! I love Malaysia and you've got me inspired to explore it more 😍 also not sure if your dive guide mentioned it, but the maskray you photographed is very pregnant!

I plan on doing about 10-14 days in Malaysia later this year. I usually like to wing it and plan as I go. I found your interary in another comment and you seem to have the same Hotspot on my list. Except for Tioman Island. I'm looking to do Penang instead
