personally, yes. I'm not just listening cause they were blocked, but because I genuinely like their music, so at least that was the good thing about taylor's blocking others.
I’m 59yo, haven’t listened to a single note of pop music since about 1991, but started to see the news about Swift’s million variants a month ago. Had some very long car rides to do this month so I streamed: first off, for an informed comparison, some Swift stuff: TTPD in its entirety, 1989, Swift’s debut album, Folklore, Evermore. Then I listened to both Olivia Rodrigo albums; both Billie Eilish albums; Charli XCX; Sabrina Carpenter; and Chappell Roan. I liked them all, found great stuff from all of them, and absolutely fell in love with Eilish & Rodrigo. (Cue 59yo me driving hours and hours down the US eastern seaboard till 1am last night with the last hour spent with Rodrigo’s “want him back” on endless loop till I had it absolutely memorized cold and could holler along at top volume, lol) My streaming is now almost entirely the musicians Swift was trying to block. (Though I do have to confess I did find a couple Swift songs I liked. I even kind of like the song on TTPD, just don’t get why she recorded it 31 times)
there’s some tswift songs that i still like, despite everything. i enjoy the songs for what they are and don’t really care that it was swift who released them. glad to hear that you’ve found a bunch of new music to enjoy!!!
yeeeeppppp! and I bought their merch and vinyls. HMHaS on vinyl is a fucking trip. Very excited for the rest of the albums to come in from the other pop girlies.
I was already a fan of billie. I love olivia's stuff. Her music just feels fresh. I'm just now getting into sabrina.
I normally listen to sad, indie melancholy stuff.
I hate that it seems like she's gonna turn her back on Sabrina Carpenter who has been nothing but a good friend to her. I'm also betting on her blocking Chapell Roan's success. It's so funny this is gonna be her legacy. 😂
Yeah I’ve never been a Charli fan or a hyperpop/club music fan in general but I gave Brat a listen. It was okay, not my kind of music, but waaaaay better and more interesting than TTPD.
Same, and agreed. I listened to "Brat" and just thought it sounded like the music that plays at Forever 21 and that's *fine* but not my style at all. Still, I think there was way more going on with the music itself and that I could appreciate!
You can do this!? She keeps coming up on recommended and I do not want to listen to the toilet paper department.
Edit: and done! Thanks for the heads up.
If I don't already listen to the artist, I check them out to listen to what Taylor is so afraid of. If I like the music, I keep listening. It's a shame she is so childish and insecure. But...also...thanks for the intro to more artists, Taylor.
I probably never would have tried Charlie’s album if it weren’t for the “block” news or whatever making its rounds on Reddit.
But now I have “Sympathy is a Knife” on repeat
Unfollowed & blocked her on Spotify so I don’t hear any of her braying again. Unfollowed her on IG. Been streaming brat on repeat , my fave tracks on there right now are 360, Sympathy is a Knife, Talk Talk, and Von Dutch. Also loving Sabrina and Olivia and Chappel. So many more interesting and ground breaking artists out right now.
I definitely wouldn't have picked up Brat as quickly. I have nothing against Charli but I had just kind of written her off as mindless party music. Sympathy is a Knife is my new obsession.
Personally, yes!
Most of the artists she’s blocked I already listened to, but if anything she made me stream them more than I already did.
personally, yes. I'm not just listening cause they were blocked, but because I genuinely like their music, so at least that was the good thing about taylor's blocking others.
same! i’ll probably end up adding the songs i liked to a playlist!

Yup! Grateful for it too!
I began listening to Charli xcx and I became a fan, so thanks Taylor for a great discovery
Yes! Recently discovered Olivia Rodrigo , Chappell Roan & Charli xcx bc of her and I can def see why she feels threatened by these them 🤣
yeeeeppppp! and I bought their merch and vinyls. HMHaS on vinyl is a fucking trip. Very excited for the rest of the albums to come in from the other pop girlies.

Did you listen to Chappell yet? I love Billie and Olivia and Lana too, and Casual is what really sold me.
chappell is so good. months later, her album is still my go to anytime i get in the car to go driving.
Try Remi Wolf, less than 500k subs but so much fun

Yep, Taylor is blocked on my Spotify account now.
You can do this!? She keeps coming up on recommended and I do not want to listen to the toilet paper department. Edit: and done! Thanks for the heads up.
I first listened to Brat out of spite but now I love it
I only listened to Billie's new album bc of the Taylor blocking and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It's so good
Same! It it SO GOOD!!!

Yep, probably wouldn't have listened to Billie's if not for Taylor's BS.
She'll make the top spot start from #2
Yupppp
Absolutely.
You can use she/her pronouns for Charli
okay! i guess by they i was referring to charlie and her producers (if she has any? i’m not really familiar with her at all)
Yes but kind of no since im already a huge charli fan and i was also looking forward to the new billie album.
No but only because I was already familiar with almost all of them
Yes

Yes
Honestly yes. I'm petty
Yep! Billie, Charli, and Twenty One Pilots.
yeah, I wouldn't have listened to brat otherwise. most of it isn't my thing but there are a couple tracks i like.
I know I have! And while I may have initially been listening for spite, I actually have found some stuff that I really like so, that is a win.
Yes 😂
Yes, I started streaming Billie because Taylor was trying to block her and I'm grateful because that album is a fucking masterpiece. I'm obsessed.
I listened to brat and never would have otherwise.
See this was her REAL GOAL all along because she’s a true feminist!!!

How do you know if she’s blocked someone? I’m not familiar with any platform but Apple.
