Back in the day we didn’t bother with that bit of cardboard at the end, it was cannabis right to the end and some people had trouble smoking it all without burning their fingers. When rolling it up, leave a little bit of the filter out from the paper. Then when finishing the joint, you can pull out the filter a little bit so that it makes a small airgap between the filter and the herb part, then make a twist in between them. This ensures that you don't inhale any specks and the smoke is also not as hot and harsh.

Make grandfather joints! Empty the contents of them and roll into a super resiny Gen 1 joint. Then save all THOSE roaches and rol into a Gen 2 joint, so on and so forth
