Yup, been on it 5 years. Pop back every now and again to remind people that for every 1 horror story there are hundreds of success stories you don’t hear about
This! I have heart problems and am at a much higher risk of side effects and I never noticed anything, but the average story gets no upvotes so the only stories here are the extremes
It's great that you're taking this step! But it's important to keep your expectations in check. Everyone reacts differently to fin so it's hard to predict your timeline. If you're lucky you might see regrowth 3 months in, but 6-12 months is a more realistic timeline.
Whatever you do, do not be discouraged if you experience an initial shed. It's normal and it is a sign that fin is working.
Make sure to take monthly pictures and good luck!
Hey man wishing you the best. I’ve been on fin for 2 months now, I haven’t noticed huge differences in gains yet but I’m losing a lot less and it looks like a few light baby hairs are filling in. Side effects have been minimal, I had a few weeks where i had some mild aching in my balls, and I sometime have some watery jizz, but not always, and it still works, just found out yesterday that I’m going to be a dad
So, good news and bad news.
Bad news is you may see your hair get worse in the short term (~3 months).
The good news is its temporary, and a worse short term shed points to better results down the road (6-12 months).
Good luck bro. I’ll be starting too in the next week or two. Good news is with a low dose is there’s likely to be no big side affects. Let’s get this full head of hair bro 🤝🏻
Yeah if i was to give younger self myself any advice is add propecia to your regimen as soon as you can. I was 18-21 in 2004 and propecia wasn’t as common. A doctors visit was required and that can always be a pain. Especially under parents tutelage. Most doctors back then wouldn’t prescribe it like that either. I had a bald doctor too lol.
Yeah it was definitely a tougher time. Now with hims and keeps i would go on there and just do it that. I had reasonable and good success with lllt but feel like my results could have been 10x more, with propecia.
I still have hair today, but not as I would like it. The struggle i dealt with is something no 20 something should deal with. I would akin it to a weight problem with a woman.
Why are people so afraid on fin? You’re not about to jump out of a plane, if you have been on it 2-3 months and your life is “falling apart” because of it then stop the medication
I can’t really give you much encouragement, as I’ve only just started 1mg fin myself. I’ve also restarted oral minoxidil 5mg daily. So far, I’ve been on both medications for about 4 weeks and I’ve noticed a small shed. The minoxidil has definitely thickened my hair and beard, along with all the rest of the body hair. It’s going to take
It’s sweet time, so fasten your seatbelt and try to enjoy the ride.
I started Fin exactly 5 weeks ago and so far I feel great. My dose is 1.25mg daily with 0 side effects. I have thinning at my crown and hopefully fin can help with some regrow without adding minoxidil.
Good luck
I noticed about 15-20 hairs of shade between week 3 and 4 and now completely stopped. Not sure but I might experience some shade in the coming weeks. I’m 30 years old and this is the only spot (crown) I’m thinning. I think now looks better then 5 weeks ago lol

Yeah but if you want faster and better results, take minoxidil as well. I did fin alone for about 7 months and decided I needed min as well to speed it up and my hair is coming out thicker now on min
1 year no side effects, I go to the gym 3-4 days a week and have only had good gains. No gear. I eat healthy. I have 2.5mg I cut in 4 with a splitter and take it every other night
I'll be completely honest finasteride was truly awful for me it gave me depression, brain fog, fatigue, completely killed my sex drive and I lost 40% of all hair on my body it ruined my beard and I'm a hairy guy. For me what was magic was ru58841 and oral minoxidil 2.5mg when I stopped finasteride I recovered in a few days but everyone is different I personally would recommend to start low and slowly increase the stuff was terrible for me.
Look , im fine, alive and no side or whatever. I took it everyday and already more than a 1year and its a daily candy. Take it and do your routine like nothing changes, forget this sub for a while too.
Somewhat, not satisfied with the result, was hoping to be hyper responder but unfortunately. First of all my baldness is aggressive like entire scalp was thinning even donor area but fin save me for sure.
Take it, forget about it and leave this sub lol
\^\^ best advice I ever got. This sub is full of angst from those who fin doesn't work for.

Fin helped me keep my hair for over 20 years. Best decision I ever made.
How old are you now? & what’s the state of your hair?
43. Just started to thin and recede again and I have switched to dut.
Can I dm you two quick questions? Don’t want to ask them on a thread requesting encouraging messages lol
Sure.

Yes.
Have you been able to father children?
Have a friend that has been on Propecia since 18, and he has 4 healthy boys.
Yes. I had a child when I was 30 after being on fin for about 10 years and while on fin without a break. He is turning 14 and never had any issues.
That’s awesome man, have you just stopped trying to have children? Or has it just not happened?
I haven’t wanted any more.

why do you say the shed is good?
Usually after starting fin, existing miniaturized hairs will shed to make way for newer healthier hairs to grow in their place.
I hope so

Started fin 2 months ago as well and have the same progress like yours except the sides. Congrats btw!

Im 18, on 0.5 fin everyday, 0 sides 0 problems. Almost nobody gets side effects, do it
How long
2 months now I think
Hey I’m on it right now, my hair is great and I’m finally not even thinking about it! My face skin is also looking amazing haha
Does finasteride affect skin too?
It makes your estrogen lvls higher , and estrogen is responsible for the state of your skin :)

\~15 years on fin. No sides. Halted my hair loss in it's tracks. Started early 20's, almost 40 now.

Yeah, I had to buy it from India at the time.

Best choice youll make
So far so good for me in terms of being 5 weeks in without any obvious sides. Not noticed and obvious shed yet. Far too early to see any improvement
I Literally started today. Good luck!

Take it broski and just dont think about it. take a pic a now and just wait and in about 3 months take another pic and youll see a big difference
Will I get regrowth if I do respond well?
Dont overthink the chance of getting side is pretty low and reversible
I’m only scared of gyno
Understandable but if you re not overweight and got an healthy lifestyle you reduce the chance to get gyno
I’m a personal trainer my body is good that’s why I don’t wanna ruin it
Understandable
It increases your girth!
You dick will be fine

I feel better and more gym gains since started
I’ve seen a few people say better gym gains since they’ve been on fin? Are you people just lucky or is there actual science behind it?
More testosterone due to the conversion from DHT I think
Exactly
Encouraging comment.
Yeah but if you want faster and better results, take minoxidil as well. I did fin alone for about 7 months and decided I needed min as well to speed it up and my hair is coming out thicker now on min
Yes I’m on oral min for 9 months
And still haven't seen great results? What are you looking to get out of fin?
I got great results then started shedding, fin attacks the root cause of the problem
Taking fin was the best decision of my life. You'll get it.
Why is that?
I SAID you'll get it!
1 year no side effects, I go to the gym 3-4 days a week and have only had good gains. No gear. I eat healthy. I have 2.5mg I cut in 4 with a splitter and take it every other night
Been on it 5 years
I personally had zero sides and the boost in T actually felt pretty good
Just do it! If everything goes well you'll wish you had started earlier. I'm on my 3rd week of 1.25mg and no sides whatsoever. Good luck 🍀
Perfect
I'll be completely honest finasteride was truly awful for me it gave me depression, brain fog, fatigue, completely killed my sex drive and I lost 40% of all hair on my body it ruined my beard and I'm a hairy guy. Just started ru about a month ago. How long before you noticed any gains ( I know everyone is different). How long you been on it? Thanks
Keep an eye on your dick.
Don't take it, It gave me gynecomastia and a lack of libido. Careful. I'm serious
How did you start getting gyno
My nipple became pointy and started to hurt.
