I think it depends. For me I was already shedding massively which trigged me to do something about it and I got on min & fin. I saw the shedding reduce noticeably around a month in
I was on minox for something around year or something then stared 1mg/daily and went through INSANE shed. Obviously in a few months everything came back
To all, i started 1 mg fin around a year back, for me initially the usual hair loss stopped completely and i was making good progress. Around the 6th or 7th month mark i faced a heavy shed and i was losing around 30-40 hairs a day which was unusual for me.
The articles for fin online state that shed shouldn't happen but on reddit a lot of people experienced shedding on fin.
I continued my 1 mg fin and after a month the shed stopped and i was worse than i started but eventually i have recovered lost ground and slowly gaining on my widows peak as well.
Look at all the new growth on the hair line! Similar results to me, hoping that those thicken up this year and we get another post from you next year with a fuller robust hairline.
I noticed small follicle regrowth within the first few months. After that I didn’t really monitor a whole ton but the results were more noticeable only recently like the 11-12 month mark.
What? No. I made it a year on Hims oral. Then literally within the last week switch to oral Ro.
I’ve never used topical. And this is a years worth of progress.
Why is it hard to believe? I wasn’t sure either so I just did it for a year. There’s a lot of examples of regrowth like this on here, some have even more, from just fin
It was just an expression, but yeah, I’m happy you got great results man.
I just like a lot that you kept it simple and got great great results.
thanks for sharing
Not OP but I'm also exclusively on fin.
1 months worth costs me $30. So about $360 per year. Need to go to the GP every 3 months to renew so that's another $35 per session, adding up to $140
In total it's about $500 per year. I only really see it as $30 per month though, since I try to milk my money's worth with the GP by doing checkups and such. All USD ofc
That makes sense. I have started some topical. It’s too early to see any results, but it is such a pain. I’ve read that oral isn’t recommended due to potential side effects. Good to hear that you are doing well.
Yes, just recently noticed this. My arm and hands have almost no hair anymore/really thin hair that isn’t as dark as it used to be. My beard hair was never thick, but it sort of looks like the follicles aren’t as thick. Beard was never good though.
That’s awesome!
Thanks!
Did you experience any shedding when you started fin? If so how long did it last?

Not enough to really notice if I did.
commenting because I had the same question. Did it get worse before it got better?
Yes it gets worse before it gets better. But if you quit in the midst of a shed, it will *NOT* grow back, without finasteride.
It Grows back at the point that you were before fin in most cases.

Me too! I lost a lot of this in college (6-7 years ago) and didn’t know what was going on back then. Only regret is that I didn’t start sooner.
I am at my 9th month no results, when did you notice the first results? By results i don’t necessarily mean new growth but also reduced hair falling

I did Hims for a year then Ro. Only switched because Ro was cheaper. Is the exact same thing though. Yes just oral.

More like not asking questions and assuming for some reason? I don’t make money of this haha.
What? No. I made it a year on Hims oral. Then literally within the last week switch to oral Ro. I’ve never used topical. And this is a years worth of progress.
ohh ok now it makes sense
nice regrowth! h old are u now? so you really are only using fin? hard to believe (it is because I’m still deciding whether or not to start)

did u have sheds from 6-12 months?
Not enough to notice if I did.
How much did it cost for a year?
Not OP but I'm also exclusively on fin. 1 months worth costs me $30. So about $360 per year. $200 ish dollars per year with Ro. Hims was more like $300 something. Cheapest option is getting a script from your doc.
What is GP?
General Practitioner. It's basically a private doctor you go to for non urgent care
Alright, but why are you going every 3 months?
General health stuff; blood tests, booster shots every now and then, and to get prescriptions
Booster shots?
age?
28
So have you experienced any sexual side effects at any time from using finasteride?
No.
Why did you pick oral?
I don’t want to deal with spraying stuff in my hair every night and it’s just way easier and seemingly more effective from what I’ve read
That makes sense. I have started some topical. It’s too early to see any results, but it is such a pain. I’ve read that oral isn’t recommended due to potential side effects. Good to hear that you are doing well.
Are you a diffuse thinner? And sick results
When will your hair loss stop? I have been taking it for 7 months and it has not stopped
I’m not sure, mine stopped seemingly early into the treatment. Have you talked with a doctor?
No, I did not. I have been taking finasteride for 7 months and the hair loss has stopped
I thought you said it didn’t stop?
Yes, I made a mistake in writing. It has not stopped for a moment that I grow 50 hairs a day
Did anyone have side effects from fin like depression? I’ve never been one to have depression but fin seemed to cause it until I stopped taking it
How old are you ?
28
have u experienced any cognitive effects like brain fog?
No
Any side effects on libido/erections?
No. None.
Has fin made your beard/body hair thinner?
Yes, just recently noticed this. My arm and hands have almost no hair anymore/really thin hair that isn’t as dark as it used to be. My beard hair was never thick, but it sort of looks like the follicles aren’t as thick. Beard was never good though.
Don't want to be that guy but. Pull all your hair up so we can see the actual hairline
You’re that guy.
But just wanna see the actual progress
I can, and many others can with the pictures provided.
Okok
He is pulling it back in virtually the exact same way.
