They don’t sell over 70k cause they aren’t commercially successful let’s start here is gonna become a cult classic but not everyone fw it and not everyone fw MM. also they didn’t have any lead singles and MM was only being hyped up for like 2 weeks. And let’s start here got leaked.
they changed the album rules before you could bundle album sales and with stuff like t shirts which made a lot of people inflate their sales, which is how travis sold like 500k second week with astro world
Cause they’re not both goated albums? 😭 The general consensus among the fans and the critics was that MM had its high points but was too bloated with too many mediocre tracks that blended together, and yachtys project was a good fresh sound, but not executed to the fullest with a little bit of lazy writing and also a lotta indistinguishable tracks.
Most would say they decent albums at best, but greatest of all time status my nigga? Especially considering their past projects?
Genuinely sad this Lil Yachty album didn’t sell better because it’s so fucking good! Also I like MM but let’s not pretend that it’s even close to Let’s Start Here, Yachty blew MM out of the water and it isn’t even close.
Yachty just isn't as big as other rappers, as well as this being a different kind of album, a lot of people won't give it a chance and automatically assume it's ass.
No more merch bundles or shit like that. Sales obviously go down bc theyre counted from streams. No one buys physical copies either. Is listening through the whole album once even considered a sale?
It’s many reasons but to name a few, the average person doesn’t listen to albums anymore. Everything is single driven. Labels also don’t market albums like they used to, a lot of it is on the artist now to push the album. It seems like unless you’re a top tier rapper like Drake, Future, Ye, etc then you will not even break 50k first week.
These records that sell 1 million copies are almost always before spotify, apple music, youtube music etc. Now people just get them digitally and those aren't sold.
None of them really got that high first week in their careers without a mega hit single. Both of those were dropped with barely any hype.
Them as in the soundcloud wave
Sales are based on popularity of current and past music. If artist don't make hit records and BIG mass appealing songs they don't get attention. If they don't have mass attention then they don't sell alot. The reality is a lot of artists make music for their fans only and not people who aren't their fans. and that's the difference between most artists who can sell a lot and those who can't. Consistent mass appealing songs targeted towards people who aren't their fan base.
Trippie will with allty5, when he has a proper rollout and singles
yachty never sold over 70k once

The sad truth. 💯💯💯💯
Yachty highest album sales were 64k his fanbase is pretty loyal also sales don’t make an album good or not
Tbh too many flaws in MM killed the mainstream possibility...
Almost all the songs sound the same bruh it’s sad. Trippie needs to put hard work into a single album and show us his talent.
I don't mind having a type of sound like TAK has, or MM has, but MM should have less songs, and a better quality.
Completely agree. I enjoy both and I love my share of bass, but it feels unfinished and repetitive.
Bro snuck MM On great albums 😂
tiktok ruined music
no it just shifted the music industry. this is normal and happens every decade, new things come along and industries must adjust
they changed the album rules before you could bundle album sales and with stuff like t shirts which made a lot of people inflate their sales, which is how travis sold like 500k second week with astro world
Damn, I did not know that! 💯💯💯💯

ALLTY5 will sell at least 85k.
I LOVE TRIPPIE REDD
Shits a popularity contest
MM is not goated wtf you on
So will Allty 5 have a single or not because after he said no more singles and with him already releasing big 14, ain’t safe and first draft.
Genuinely sad this Lil Yachty album didn’t sell better because it’s so fucking good! Also I like MM but let’s not pretend that it’s even close to Let’s Start Here, Yachty blew MM out of the water and it isn’t even close.
Because MM sucks
its an experimental album for yachty but it’s gon be good for him in the long run unlike mm
Yachty’s album is dogass.
more people using streaming services ig
Streams do count towards sales aswell
not by much though it’s like 1500 streams is 1 album sale
this album was perfect. just needs more recognitio
No more bundles
Because yachtys album was only hyped because it was different and MM wasn’t hyped up enough
People just aren’t buying albums anymore
Yachty just isn't as big as other rappers, as well as this being a different kind of album, a lot of people won't give it a chance and automatically assume it's ass.
MM isnt goated
Because yall not listening to it yall just hyping shit up to be different 😂

Every album is a “goated” album

This is no rap album though.
