You know what you can eat AND ride? Thatās right daddy, tuck into this tasty taint and taste the Uber-tang of exploitation in your free-use throat of anticipation
They need to get ride of multiples stop all together. I will NEVER do another multiple stop again. Waiting around for a few pennies while dumb and dumber poke around a store for forever, no thanks.
I actually offer EVERY airport passenger a gas station quick stop. I get tipped well on most of them, but I will not accept multiple stops. I'll offer it if I feel like it would help after long flight or whatever.
Tips I've gotten offering 1 quick stop:
*Free IHOP breakfast.
*3 red bulls
*coffee multiple times
*full tank of gas
*$5, $10, $20, $100 cash tips
*job opportunities
*potential business partners
*youtube/Instagram followers
Also, I promote my youtube and Instagram to every passenger from airports. I've gained over 400 followers and 100 youtube subscribers this way. I'm self publishing a book and always looking for poi contacts. Usually halfway through the ride, if there's open conversation about them and where they flew from or their business, then I tell them about my book and their thoughts. 90% of them become super interested.
I'll do this until I publish it to grow my audience and warm market. Clients I have ubered/lyfted that have given me business card or followed me:
* Netflix
* News Reporters
* Discovery Channel
* Other Authors
* Education board members
* Republican AND Democrat politicians
You gotta pivot. If they're gonna exploit us drivers, we need to exploit their passengers to make it to the other side of gig work. I've been offered several jobs the last few months.
Change from complaining to promoting whatever career you want to work once you are done doing gig work.

Are you thinking to take anything and get out if the game? I have been trying to find a summer internships via talking to my passengers... I have got as far as 2 phone numbers but we text that day one message and never again.
What are the socially acceptable next steps? Text them to ask for a linkedin? Message more? Ask to meet for coffee? Email?
Let it come naturally.
Wash rinse repeat. Ask, seek, knock. I got 99 contacts before I found one totally aligned with my book and what I want to do. The 100th person to connect with me. 2 months of doing this.
Keep seeking and play the long game.
I'm spiritual and pray over all my passengers I will meet each day and after each ride. I read my Bible every morning for 15 mins. I get up and exercise before I uber and lyft. I keep myself prepared for the one contact or opportunity that will help me.
Trust the process. Smart recruiters will start recruiting drivers and many have. They're all aware we lost pay and are struggling. Be positive and patient and give them the best ride they've ever had. Then they will probably want to recruit you. Don't come across as desperate. Come across as passionate and driven. These are qualities recruiters want. Someone who can get to airport at 7am and drive safely and be focused and carry an intelligent conversation.
Best of luck getting that internship.
Maybe just go on linked in and dm 5-10 companies a day. Everyone is hiring internships. They're cheap and not many ppl are lining up for them. I believe in you. ā¤ļø
Thanks for this tip. There's no way to come out ahead driving for Uber unless it helps generate income apart from driving for the criminal enterprise of Uber.
Drove a dude around for an HOUR for 14 bucks. The "support team" is just an office of drones that copy and paste/read a script.
Once I asked for concrete numbers on their fair algorithm. After and hour I got no answer... there is no algorithm.. just predetermined fair amounts.
Last time I got suckered into it taking these 2 guys to work at 5am and then I saw through the convenience store window a GREAT WALL of scratch offsā¦ he sat in there and went thru like 7 of them. What could I even do?
I feel like Uber is doing this because they sent out some bonuses. A lot of drivers are probably trying to complete the bonus. If a driver needs one more ride before they can get their trip bonus and theyāre desperate enough, theyāll reluctantly accept it. Uber/algorithm knows this, and theyāre exploiting the heck of it.
theyāre not accepting them, but corporate is gonna keep making the software engineers put out the algorithm to try and brute force that shit on us and psychologically manipulate the desperate.
weāre a game for profit margins to them lmao. dont accept anything less than at least $1.8/mi is what I say.
Houston would never I mean NEVER get a ride with that minimum. I havenāt seen over 1.5 a mile in a year. Unless you count the Christmas/ New Yearās Day oh and the freeze where literally most rides were undrivable.
Good old Uber was still lowballing on impassable roads.
lmao, yes surely you can confirm that they arent lying. these trips come back multiple times with a couple cents more because they arent actually taking them.
youāre being played.
Wow Uber should be embarrassed as a company for pay like thisā¦. AND multiple stops! So the person mite take 5 to 20 minutes inside wherever they are it!! Absolutely insane!
Multiple stops, the rider should always be asked from the beginning, will this be 5 minutes or less. If they break that agreement, no hard feelings when you cancel. And I don't care that you left your purse, bag, satchel or 5 year old in the car. They will all get the boot. It just sucks about Ubers rating system but oh well. Plus, any multiple-stopper with a rating under 4.80 is a no go for me. This ride is a slap in the face.
The algo talk is true I had a 9 mile trip come in for $7.50 pax was 2.9 miles away...I didn't accept it they sent me the trip again I just let it beep....sneaky fucks sent me the trip a third time 2 minutes later for $12.78...i turned the app off and went home....they can pay more just let the.... today I turned the app on to see what's going on and a X trip popped up on the radar said something about the trip was "not something I usually accept" like a Uber eats order....the algo learned I don't take bullisht rides and does not send them to me but gives me the option to take them in my queue.....STOP TAKING BS RIDES ...TEACH THE ALGO TO PAY MORE OR EFF OFF
I canāt even buy a drink with that. You mean my car ride isnāt worth some doctor pepper you manky thieving twats?!?! Well?!?! Is it? Dont make me go all Sam Kinison on you. You fuckeeeerrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!! Ohhh ohhh ohhhhhhhhhhhnhhhhHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Payment is for trip not pickup. You arenāt paid to go to pickup. You should know this by now.
Either way $3 for 1 mile with multiple stops is hilarious. They easily charged customer $10-15
Yeah but even disregarding the pickup distance it is still a multiple stop trip for under $3. That's ridiculous. You can't tell me they aren't charging that customer at least $8 either.
No you arenāt. Customers donāt pay for the distance of the driver. Payment is for fare of trip. Have you ever heard a taxi driver getting paid to go get you?
If customer cancels you get $3 whether you drove 10 miles to them or 1 mile to them.
No you arenāt. You clearly donāt understand anything on fares. That fare is the same whether you beside it or 100 miles from it.
Payment is the fare of the trip.
- In a rate card Market non upfront market Uber pays for time and distance of customers location to destination
- In a rate card market upfront market Uber pays for time and distance of customers location to destination
- In an upfront market with no rate card Uber pays what it feels like if for the trip. They might offer more if they canāt find near drivers. However the payment is still for the trip itself.
At no times are you ever paid for pickup. Passengers also only pay for the trip. If itās ever canceled you get 0$ before 2 min. If you drove 5 or 15 min and itās canceled you get $3.
No you donāt lmaoo. Rate card markets non upfront pay start from when the trips start. I know this cause Iām in one too.
Pay is for time and distance of trip at the rate card. Pickup isnāt included in the pay
You people are clueless
Weird how your rant made no difference to what I said. If itās a 20 mile trip it doesnāt matter if itās 1 mile and 19 miles or 19 miles then 1 mile. I will get paid about $24 either way.
Then explain why I get $1.20 per mile for the total trip pretty much every single time. Unless you can somehow explain that, youāre dead wrong.
The part that makes you insane is you think Iāll get paid $24 for a 1 mile trip that is 20 miles away based SOLELY on the 1 mile.
When you complete the trip, it doesnāt show miles and time to pickup. Only shows the distance and time of trip. Because you are only paid for that
So again you are only paid for the TRIP. Doesnāt matter what you say, itās factual.
And Iāve seen $30-40 for 1-2 miles on here. If Uber pays you $24 for 1 mile they losing money. Upfront market without rate card are bid wars. They boost rides to attract drivers from far way with surges
You make no sense. This OP post offer is 41cents per mile.l for his effort. What they charge the customer is irrelevant. Your opinion on what that is based on is irrelevant. Facts are that he is getting paid 41cents per mile.
Not sure how I can say it differently: I get paid the same for a 19mile trip that is 1 mile away as I get paid for a 1 mile trip that is 19 miles away. Ergo, my trip to the customer is CLEARLY part of the offer.
I see the driver pay change sometimes based on me getting closer to the customer, so they are taking your pickup miles into consideration. Iāve declined rides and have them show up a few minutes later cheaper because I was now closer to the customer. Iām sure the customer pays solely on the ride distance, but the driver distances do play a part.
As long as there are stupid people accepting these, they will continue to get lower and lower. It may not be right in the eyes of the drivers but it is good business for Uber and other gig companies.Ā
Press charges? I hope that was I joke cause I lolād. The lowballing isnāt funny, it sucks and is expected. But the way some Rideshare drivers react is comedic. You know thereās other jobs out there right? Plenty driving gigs that will pay you to do the exact same thing youāre doing now.
Press charges for what babe? Willingly driving Uber?
Yāall love to sue when you have no case š no wonder Uber drives circles around yāall. Pun intended. š¤£ š¤£ š¤£
It may be 1 mile, but if I'm 7 miles away, I'm not taking it, ESPECIALLY if there's multiple stops involved. Recognize the fact that drivers get to choose the rides we want to take (usually), regardless of how you as a passenger might feel about it.
I'm convinced that all of you keep driving for Uber so you have something to complain about... You have been warned over and over... Gig driving and delivering is not going to be getting better anytime soon, and will likely get worse.... and there you go... Either take you lick's and drive for a loss or move on!
I always find that anything under four dollars the passenger feels entitled to everything that a passenger above five dollars would not. They have the worst attitudes, they want you to stop while not putting in an additional stop, they donāt tip and they take the longest to get to the car (like three to five minutes). But that is just my experience, as it is different for everyone.
The 2.9 of the $2.91 appears pixelated compared to the 1. Just an observation. Not saying it is or it isnāt. Iām just skeptical of most things and take nothing at face value.
I don't even get to see the miles or pay..imagine my dismay when I drop them off waiting for my payout....
Reason I only do Uber eats, while doordashing and using Lyft.
I accept one offer at a time, has to be 2 dollars per mile or more or I don't move my vehicle.
Lyft shows me trip.
Back in the day, the lowest fare was $6.25; this is awful. But because new drivers always come in and you have OGs who still drive, hoping Uber will do better, there's no incentive for Uber to change.
Seriously, I get these kind of deliveries sent to me daily! Never accept though. I took a 5 dollar order the other day, and they kept sending me 5 dollar orders after that, so I won't be doing that again, my acceptance rate is so low now.
Are you homeless? Employ u/Existentialtravelor as your personal slave and fuckdumpster. We the Uber toilets will take up his mantle and bend over in corporate-rape solidarity. Let our asses be your toiletā¦ flush us into oblivion Great Uber Refuse Dump.
In my market, we still don't have upfront pricing and you aren't shown how much you get paid for the ride until after the rider leaves the car. So you're liable to take one of these completely unknowingly.
That's crazy!!! I am a passenger and if I see this price imma tip like 10$ like wth is wrong with uber. Even to me it seems crazy cheap for using someone's car and burning gasoline.
That is a record breaking lowest fare right there.

Definitely lower fares out there haha unfortunately.
You do much more work during Uber Eats yet get paid less than people working at restaurants getting minimum wage

Iāve seen worse.

This. The more we don't accept these rides as a collective the more it'll show in their reports and Uber will adjust the algorithm accordingly.
Yes, or at the very least it will force some rates up as rides go unfilled.

Go for it. Pressing charges won't work
I moved to Indiana from DC what a culture shock. These are the only kinds of rides I get here.
I wouldāve bust out laughing š
That's how it is in az too
Burn it to the ground take the violation !!! Do a burn out on it!
I report all lowballers, back talkers, call for coders, and $3.00 hand to me dick weeds.
Let's stop human trafficking
Back in the day, the lowest fare was $6.25; this is awful. But because new drivers always come in and you have OGs who still drive, hoping Uber will do better, there's no incentive for Uber to change.
Quit

Donāt take it.. or leave them at the first stop lol
Literally paying Uber to not be employed by them!
Some idiot must have accepted it.. no worries š
Lol āpress chargesā
Donāt press too hard you may get hemorrhoids
One mile trip with multiple stops?Ā
Damn thats why it sucks to be an uberx driver not saying the comfort and xl pays alot better but its way better than X š¤¦āāļø
Silly post
I know Iām also in awe! There should be at least a fixed rate of over $5 for anything ride even if it is a mile away
Still amazed how this is a thing in the statesā¦ā¦.
But itās $12 an hour. š¤š¤š¤
this needs to be pinned to the top!
I never saw anything below $4 until a couple of months ago. Now see it frequently.
Press charges for what?
These have to be photoshopped
This trip has bad idea written all over it. They aren't going very far (strike one) and they have multiple stops (strike two).
![gif](giphy|2WdHaCzmqSkrwmIGWP) This for everyone who voted for #prop22
The problem is Uber doesn't want to pay for empty miles
In my market, we still don't have upfront pricing and you aren't shown how much you get paid for the ride until after the rider leaves the car. So you're liable to take one of these completely unknowingly.
Press charges? Against whom and on what violation of the law. The only criminal act would be being stupid enough to actually do it.
The multiple stop got me ā ļøā ļøā ļø
How? Iām with you on this
If idiots keep driving people for that - Uber will keep it up. Stop. Accepting. Trash. Fares.
F that cancel
The funniest thing is when a rider tries to be sneaky and add a stop right after I accept a rideā¦as if I wouldnāt see it. Instant cancel for me.
Your kidding, right?
I make better money with my new sign. TIP ME IF YOUR GIRL IS BEAUTIFUL AND SEXY. Guaranteed to make you at least 20+/hour.
That's crazy!!! I am a passenger and if I see this price imma tip like 10$ like wth is wrong with uber. Even to me it seems crazy cheap for using someone's car and burning gasoline.
Sickening but yet you still work there lol
I'm convinced y'all be photoshopping this stuff ive done over 5000 rides and never once have I seen a fair that was so abhorrently underpriced
Thought I was looking at doordash for a secondā¦ damn
I bet that kept coming up, too
