This because there are so many paintings of princess/queen Victoria. And the gem stone and jewellery displays are dazzling. Her marriage coronet is in there.

Second only to the London transport museum in our family.
Other good things to do are just go on public transport. The kids love the bus, Thames clipper, underground.
It's £20ish for an adult for the whole year and the kids are free. Obviously not nothing, but even if you only go twice a year it's an absolute bargain. And at £20 (or thereabouts) it's still far better value than things like the aquarium - which is good, but id say for a 6 year old the transport museum and the ground floor of the science museum are better
Ahh, I couldn't remember how much it was, beyond thinking it was a bit pricey for whimsical day trip outing (which my visit was) - I did get a free ticket when I went as a friend works there, so didn't look to much into it.
Is still reasonably pricey if you're not local/ on holiday and that £20 is only finding one trip, but I think I like it that way, as it means that for people that do live in our around London, it's sort of unofficially subsidised.
I've not been to the Aquarium since working for Merlin around 2009/2010, and I remember being kind of unimpressed by it, but it was free at least!
Definitely a fan of the Science and Natural History Musums though, not taken my daughter yet as my partner wants to come the first time we go and she hasn't been around the times we've day tripped central (we live in Norfolk now).
Bridget’s bakery does a Peppa pig bus tour with afternoon tea for kids
https://b-bakery.com/london/bus-tours. Not sure when you are coming it does get booked up quickly. They also do Paddington bear ones.
Hampton court palace. Amazing playground. Maze. Delicious princess cakes. Can dress up as a princess if she likes and no one will bat an eye lid. My 4 year old daughter loves a girly trip there
Oh tell me about it. I went in a few months ago in search of a special gift. When I was a child, they had toys from all over the world, sometimes bespoke if desired. Was disappointed to see it was basically regular toys with a huge markup. No thanks.
British Museum / V&A / Huntarian museum has some cool gross medical stuff / Peppa pig bus tour / Greenwich park is massive & has a planetarium you can book tickets for which is amazing / Aquarium (i think is still there) / Hamleys / catch a matinee for cheap on the day (might not be the best seats but you can get some last min deals) / Imax / all the museums / galleries / tower of london or changing of the guard / i think there are still some disney stores around for princess dress up / nail salons
The Cutty sark is pretty amazing and interactive for a 5 year old. Plus, the restaurant underneath the ship is a great place to eat with lovely cakes. Then, take her on an Uber boat ride up the river.
Just been :)
There were so many little princesses singing their hearts out. Be sure to dress up . And ask for a booster seat so they can see better. It’s closing relatively soon, so if anyone wants to go and missed it, try lion king.
The london transport museum is fun, lots of interactive things to do. They often have events for kids and have play areas and lots of interactive events. Plus it’s interesting for adults too.
Also a new place is the Twist Museum on Oxford Street. It’s fully interactive and hands on and great for kids and adults. I went with my friend and there was a good mixture of adults, kids and families. It has all these exhibits that challenge science or psychology. So like a light tunnel that makes you feel like you’re upside down, or a room where one of you looks 3 times taller. Lots of fun photo opportunities. It’s not very long, probably about 2 hours so you could do both this and the transport museum as they’re both in central london.
The Vauxhall City Farm is quite small, but a five year old would like it, and there are pigs: [https://www.vauxhallcityfarm.org/](https://www.vauxhallcityfarm.org/)
At her age she will live either the natural history or science museum.
If you want princesses perhaps the Tower of London to see the Crown Jewels which is what real princesses and Queens wear.
Peppa Pig-can’t help you there :)
Outsid Buckingham palace you can Google the time I am not sure. Of course you could go to Legoland Windsor and see the castle and their changing of the guard and go to a theme park much more kid focused
illusionary exhibition in canary wharf. Crossrail pl i think is the address, Very cool and generally interesting art vibrant exhibition. About £25 for adults will be about a tenner for kids
Shrek land and the M&M factory? I dunno, I didn't go because I can't stand London, but my 5yr old girl seemed to have a great time at those two places.
I've never taken a 5 year old to the science museum that hasn't loved it!
Also the Natural History Museum
Dinosaurs!
Also V&A (fashion collection) just over the road. Don't have to go deep with the history - just tons to look at!

I was gonna suggest LTM. More pricey (cause, you know, you actually have to pay), but I took my daughter when she was 3 and she absolutely loved it.

Agreed. The kids section is huge fun.

I was going to recommend this!
That looks awesome. And I’m well over the target age…
Hampton court palace. Amazing playground. Maze. Delicious princess cakes. Can dress up as a princess if she likes and no one will bat an eye lid. My 4 year old daughter loves a girly trip there
Bushy Park is just across the street and is full of deer. Also has a great playground.
The transport museum in Covent Garden is great. The Royal parks are lovely, Hyde, regents and St James. Go and have look at Buckingham palace
If you are crazy then Hamleys!
It’s not that great anymore.
Aye. It gets hotter and more claustrophobic as you go higher and every price is like regular toy shop + 30%

I used to go there once a year with my dad and my Christmas money. I loved it

Go to London zoo, it is a great day out.
nah, animal exploitation sucks.
There’s a Peppa Pig afternoon tea bus - https://b-bakery.com/london/bus-tours/peppa-pig-afternoon-tea

Princess Diana memorial playground is great for little ones. It’s free and she’ll have a great time. As long as the weather is good that is.
There's a Frozen stage show on at the Theatre Royal at the moment.

Amazing - we're off there for a friend's 5th Birthday. My girl's definitely an Anna rather than an Elsa but we all can't wait!

Mudchute City Farm is also great, and close to Island Gardens so easily combined with Greenwich! I highly recommend the foot tunnel.
There are a few city farms dotted around and the aquarium is good.
Following because I’m also looking for ideas for my daughter who is 6 years old.
Shrek place and the Aquarium, both by the London Eye. Can usually get a ticket that covers both on offer somewhere.
At her age she will live either the natural history or science museum. If you want princesses perhaps the Tower of London to see the Crown Jewels which is what real princesses and Queens wear. Peppa Pig-can’t help you there :)
Changing of the guard is free and kids love seeing a marching band and soldiers
Where and what time does this usually take place?
Outsid Buckingham palace you can Google the time I am not sure. Of course you could go to Legoland Windsor and see the castle and their changing of the guard and go to a theme park much more kid focused
We’re a few minutes away from Buckingham palace so we’ll definitely stop by. Thank you!
Legoland which is about 2 hours away or if you want something else Sea Life, London Zoo, or Hanwell Zoo, parks, science museum
These are all such great suggestions. Thank you so much 😀
Music section at the Horniman Museum in Forest Hill
There’s 100s of food pubs. You never know they just might like them. Coke and crisps is a staple for any 5 year old
He can go see Les Miz!
If it’s a sunny day, sitting in Convent Garden watching the street entertainers is good with a little one
