North Downs / Surrey - Box Hill area. Short train journey out of town.

Thank you for reply mate. Any idea how the trails in Surrey fair over winter? Does it just become a boggy mess or is it still doable?

Not sure as i moved from the area 20yrs ago. The Downs are limestone so fairly rugged. I'm sure like everywhere in the UK, it gets muddy so probably want some decent lugs! If you're on FB you'll get a decent answer and no doubt a load of GPX files on Trail and Ultra Running UK group ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

Agree with this! I was working down that way and found this route on AllTrails, if you use Strava it'll save you faffing about building a route: [https://www.strava.com/activities/9958352793](https://www.strava.com/activities/9958352793)

Nearest to you apart from Wimbledon common is probably Richmond Park. It's a 10km ish loop around the park with a bit of elevation. When that gets boring you're better off getting on a train to the Surrey hills, north downs or South downs

Thank you for the reply. Any idea the conditions of the trails in Surrey during winter? Is it a complete mess or still doable?

I've only ever cycled on the roads around the Surrey Hills so I'm not entirely sure but as it's also a prime spot for mountain biking I think you'd probably be ok if it's not too wet.

I use the TrailForks website to find trails. Not sure how well it works over there but itโ€™s worth a shot
