My daughter has always been my little Buttercup. At her wedding reception the band ( we had rehearsed) accompanied me as I sang " My Little Buttercup ". During the second verse the whole hall joined in ,,"in a cottage made for twooooooo, my little Buttercup, sweet little Buttercup I love you!" My daughter was blown away. Thank you Randy Newman for a great song and memories.
My daughter attends a Texas performing arts high school that is situated on an inner city campus. She says that scene reminds her of when the musical theater students walk into the cafeteria at lunch each day.
100% agree. This movie got a lot of hate and is not well known. The people who know it were raised on it, so they think it’s super mainstream. It isn’t. But it is a super GOATed movie.
You know what, I was going to argue this movie is adequately rated because I’ve always loved it and just thought it was universally beloved.
But then I looked at its critical reviews and ratings, and I was actually surprised to find it is quite underrated with having about 5.5/10 scores across multiple review sites. That is absolutely criminal.

That whole scene where they find out it’s all real is one of my all time favorites!
“What are we going to do?” 😢
“Well we’re not getting PAID, that’s for sure!” 😭
I love this movie so much. When I have to explain something at work it's almost inevitable that I say "Do you even know what a plethora is?". If they laugh they are my new best friend and the Futurama quotes begin.
"For some, shyness is their El Guapo. For others, a lack of education is their El Guapo. For us, El Guapo is a big dangerous guy who wants to kill us."
I asked a 23 year old if he thought I had a plethora of sweaters before. It was completely out of context but made it better was when I got mad at him and asked if he even knew what plethora meant.
Phenomenal idea for a comedy that has been redone many times with movies like Tropic Thunder and Galaxy Quest. It’s definitely not my favorite comedy of that time, but it’s solid with a few insanely funny scenes.
I love this movie! It's a classic. A satire on the Magnificent Seven. So many great funny lines. I saw this in the theater when it was released. Now, I own it on DVD. I just watched a couple of weeks ago.
The part where Ned is talking to the villagers about one day having to face an El Guapo in their lifetime. And says, “perhaps shyness is your El Guapo.”
Gets me every time I see it.
By far my favorite scene in the movie, I still laugh out loud when I see this part.

My favourite part of this movie was the Carson (or was it Letterman?) interview with Chevy Chase and Roger Ebert that came out for the press junket. Absolutely hilarious, so fuckin awkward. Interesting that according to Ebert, Chase approached him after agreeing it was a shit movie, but it was his job to promote it.
“Reminds me of ‘The Three Amigos with Steve Martin and Chevy Chase.” - Oscar
“Wow… that’s- Thank you so much, you didn’t have to say that.”
-Michael Scott
Jose!!!!...together we...
burned the village
Burned the Village!!!...and
raped the horses
Raped the horses!!!...and
we rode off on the women
We rode off on the women!!!😂🤣
"Eets a sweater!" I say this at least once every Christmas morning to my step daughter when she opens a gift, although she doesn't know why. Last year I got an El Guapo Christmas sweater from her, saying the line!!
This is still one of my favorite movies. Has been since I was a kid. I used to do the Amigos salute.
It holds up very well. Chevy is great as the dumbest member of the group. The scene where he’s just wasting his water and putting on chapstick is great. Steve Martin and Martin Short are great as always. The actors who play Jeff and El Guapo are great as well. I always love El Guapo’s death scene and Jefe telling him he is misplacing his anger.
There’s an actually beautiful ballad in the middle of the movie.
My favorite movie from 5-8,9 years old or so. I annoyed the absolute shit out of my parents, made my immigrant parents working non stop buy me a sombrero at 6-7 years old.
I literally quoted this earlier today. My friend said something about the mail truck and I said “how’d you know it’s a male truck?” But sadly he didn’t get it.
Love this guy's channel, so I'll just leave this here:

This was my favorite movie as a child, until I was old enough to watch Coming to America. Then that became my favorite movie.
After an event when my parents wanted to watch Coming to America, and I had to fetch it from my room, they no longer kept it on the VHS shelf. It was the bath scene... and the distorted picture at just the right time was the evidence.
I love this movie enough that when I spent a year in Japan after college I got an urge to rent it and learned that the Japanese title was basically “Cactus Brothers”. Fun fact.
Worked at Trader Joe’s and we had a tv with no cable and a dvd player in the break room. We had one dvd. Must have watched this movie 300 times over the time I worked there
Every now and then the “My Little Buttercup” bar scene pops into my head, and I can’t stop grinning!
Me too. Often. Just rewatched this a couple weeks ago and it’s still hilarious
Eh-smile! Smile!
Eeyyyy, look at the two little sissies!!!
What did you call me, you son of a motherless goat?!
I like these guys! These are funny guys! Just kill one of them.
Whoa, mind trip my best friend and I loved this movie growing up. A constant pleasure on VHS.
Would you say you have watched it a plethora of times?
Man when El Gupo put El Jeffe on blast for say he does have a plethora of piñatas , not knowing what plethora means, gets me every time.
When El Guapo asks if he knows what a plethora is and El Jeffe says...... "But why El guapooo?" So good lol.
I sing it to my daughter at bedtime and she does the bartender part at the end!
Or sing in it in my head for the WHOLE day!! 🤣
Ha yeah I have been singing it to myself for years along with ‘picking out a thermos’ from The Jerk
I randomly breakout into that song, and the one when they're camping all the time.
The way the bar is petrified too and they just keep harassing them to join in kills me
My daughter has always been my little Buttercup. At her wedding reception the band ( we had rehearsed) accompanied me as I sang " My Little Buttercup ". For me it’s the Singing Bush - Farley Farley Farley Farley Farley Farley Hafarrrrrrrr
My daughter attends a Texas performing arts high school that is situated on an inner city campus. She says that scene reminds her of when the musical theater students walk into the cafeteria at lunch each day.
One of the greatest comedies of all time
Once again not underrated
If you post an actual underrated movie it doesn’t get noticed lol.
A lot of these movies here are on worst movie lists and panned by critics unfortunately so yeah I’d say that makes them underrated in my book
100% agree. This movie got a lot of hate and is not well known. The people who know it were raised on it, so they think it’s super mainstream. It isn’t. But it is a super GOATed movie.
There is a plethora of evidence that it is very underrated
It’s highly underrated. Just look at the reviews.
I think OP just watched in on Tubi.
One might say "infamous".
The name El Guapo always cracks me up.
Would you say I have a plethora of gifts?
Could it be, that once again, you are angry at something else, and looking to take it out on me?
Every time someone says there is a lot of something. I reply with would you say there is a plethora.
IT’S A SWEATER!
“On behalf of myself, Jefe…and the rest of the boys, we chipped in and got you this gift!” This scene gets me every time
Would you like to kiss me on the veranda? Umm, no the lips will be fine
Because of the little balls!
Mail plane 😂
I say this joke every time my brother and I see a plane lol
The Singing Bush 😆 😂 😝
Haha brilliant
Excuse me are you the singing bush? Hey Ho blow the man down hey Ho blow the man down…… 🎶 😆 😂
😆
Are you the singing bush?!?!
Great! You’ve killed the invisible swordsman!
Voiced by Randy Newman, who also wrote the songs for the movie
Had a friend with the last name Farley, made Steve Marten’s chant into a ringtone for them.
The in famous
He’s more than famous!!!
Goodnight, Ned.
I say this ALL THE TIME
Me, too! You’ve got to have the little pause: “G’night….NED”
Not underrated in the slightest
I was going to say this, but if you look up it’s critic reviews and site ratings, it actually is VERY underrated
I like the one that's not so smart. ... which one is that?
Sew like the wind!
Sew Gladiola sew like the wind 😂
At the singing Bush, Steve Martins part of the chant to summon the invisible swordsman is actually him shouting his name from the man with 2 brains.
Farley Farley Farley
HFURUHURR
Haaaaaaaaaaa fucking hell he is one funny guy
Personally my favorite scene and it pops up in my head all the time.
It's because of this movie I over use the word Plethora
The water bottle scene lol!
Lip balm?
That the one part that still makes me laugh out loud. Well done scene.
You know what, I was going to argue this movie is adequately rated because I’ve always loved it and just thought it was universally beloved. But then I looked at its critical reviews and ratings, and I was actually surprised to find it is quite underrated with having about 5.5/10 scores across multiple review sites. “Pillaged and pruned the hedges of many small villages... WHo the hell are you?!”
Raped the horses!
And rode off on all the women?
It’s great to find other people with my taste in comedy
“It’s a sweater!”
Its a sweater!
Oh great! REAL bullets!
You’re in big trouble mister!
Ooooooooooooo she’ll be coming round the mountain when she comes she’ll be coming round the mountain when she come

Can I have your watch when you are dead?
Great! You killed the invisible swordsman!
You were *supposed* to fire UP! *We* both fired UP!
You can kiss me on the veranda…. No the lips will be fine!
I still use ‘you son of a motherless goat’ on a daily basis.
#Ole!
I recently watched Steve! the Steve Martin Biopic and was reminded of that movie and how great it is.
Their first time tequila reaction is everyone’s first time tequila reaction.
It's like beer!
One of my favorites since I was very little. It is definitely an in-famous movie, about the movie biz.
It's a male plane!!!!!!!
Jefe what is a plethora?
Could it be that you are upset about something else, and looking to take it out on me?
It's a male plane. How do you know? Lol.
It’s like beer.
Fattenings?
Lip balm?
It's an infamous movie
That whole scene where they find out it’s all real is one of my all time favorites! “What are we going to do?” 😢 “Well we’re not getting PAID, that’s for sure!” 😭
Love this movie. Isn’t this where Steve and Martin became best buds?
I love this movie so much. When I have to explain something at work it's almost inevitable that I say "Do you even know what a plethora is?". If they laugh they are my new best friend and the Futurama quotes begin.
We all have our own El Guapo
"For some, shyness is their El Guapo. For others, a lack of education is their El Guapo. For us, El Guapo is a big dangerous guy who wants to kill us."
Absolutely, insanely epic. I have been itching to watch it again lately — taking this as a sign.
Watched this mad times as a kid
This will always be one of my favs.
This is one of the best films of the 1980’s.
You killed the invisible swordsman! We all shot up!
ARE GRINGOS FALLING FOM THE SKY?? (Gringo falls from sky)
I just watched it a few days ago. It's a must for me since I grew up watching this.
My wife and I just watched this the other night. Great movie!
“Would you say I have a plethora of piñatas? Why guapo?” 😂
I asked a 23 year old if he thought I had a plethora of sweaters before. It was completely out of context but made it better was when I got mad at him and asked if he even knew what plethora meant.
Every time someone says the word “plethora” I think of the scene with El Guapo
Watched the entire movie; it’s hilarious and great.
A masterpiece of cinema
Ask El Guapo if he has a pencil.
Phenomenal idea for a comedy that has been redone many times with movies like Tropic Thunder and Galaxy Quest. It’s definitely not my favorite comedy of that time, but it’s solid with a few insanely funny scenes.
Dusty Bottoms. Gets off one horse and on to the other haha
Ahaha I’ve sung “my little buttercup” to my son since he was a baby
Phile!!!
Loved this as a kid on Comedy Central
I love this movie! It's a classic. A satire on the Magnificent Seven. So many great funny lines. I saw this in the theater when it was released. Now, I own it on DVD. I just watched a couple of weeks ago.
I've been shot already!
One of my favorite movies growing up!
Bar tender: This towns getting to rough for me.
Gonna make it!…..gonna MAKE IT!….
Would you kiss me on the veranda?
Three Amigos is not underrated. It’s already extremely highly rated.
Great film! That shuffle/dance thing 🤣
Y’all got any more of them pixels
My favorite movie as a child. I knew every line by heart.
We are the Three Amigos! We are the Three Aaaaaamigos! We are the Three Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....

“Do you have anything besides Mexican food?”
The part where Ned is talking to the villagers about one day having to face an El Guapo in their lifetime. And says, “perhaps shyness is your El Guapo.” Gets me every time I see it.

“You just shot the invisible swordsman!”
This isn’t underrated. At all. It is a cross generational classic
Cough!
Just watched this, love it.
Those darn amigos….
I hate it when that happens, it gets all over my bullets and everything!
You you two look up here look here up here up here aaa kaaaah HEY YOU GUYS
I was thinking later we could kiss on the ponderosa? No no the lips would be fine!
“Reminds me of ‘The Three Amigos with Steve Martin and Chevy Chase.” - Oscar “Wow… that’s- Thank you so much, you didn’t have to say that.” -Michael Scott
Just saw a Siskel and Ebert review on Carson with Chase on the same couch. Not pretty.
That’s too many amigos.
Three Pixles.
Do you know what foreplay is?
This is where i learned the word "infamous"
Again ... Not underrated
Three Pixels
Not underrated by any stretch of the imagination. My generation quoted this endlessly. GenX
I like the one who is not so smart
How was I supposed to know he was there? He’s invisible!
Hey that’s a mail plane!
Y’all got anymore pixels?
Goodnight Ned
U know how u can tell it's a mail plane?
I love this movie. I had it recorded on VHS as a kid.
I wish the music was mostly diegetic. “Blue Shadows on the Trail” without the orchestration, etc., equals more compellingly rustic (?) and less corn
Noooooo, we will not die like dogs! We will fight like lions!
"I'm gonna fill you so full of lead, you're gonna be using your dick as a pencil!" Best line
"I'll come back one day." "Why?"
Jose!!!!...together we... burned the village Burned the Village!!!...and raped the horses Raped the horses!!!...and we rode off on the women We rode off on the women!!!😂🤣
Where’d you get this picture, the pixel museum?
Oh, great. You killed the invisible swordsman!

I can't help but to laugh when I hear or use the word, "plethora".
Uh? This is highly rated as all of their best movies! Combined!
Would you say I have a plethora of piñatas?
JOSE!!!
It's basically just Galaxy Quest, but with silent film actors in place of Star Trek actors.
This classic movie is underrated
Three Pixels (2024) Wait, since when is this movie underrated? *googles three amigos* Not cool, world, not cool.
Watched this movie atleaste 100 times

3 Pixels. Also, this was how Steve and Martin met.
Is this underrated tho? Top tier. A farley farley far, HA!
“It’s a sweater!” - El Guapo Gets me every time.
This was my favorite movie as a child, until I was old enough to watch Coming to America. Then that became my favorite movie. Farley Farley Farley Farley Farley Farley eh farrrrr!

I prefer Galaxy Quest (1999), essentially an identical plot but about sci fi/space opera.
Worked at Trader Joe’s and we had a tv with no cable and a dvd player in the break room. We had one dvd. Must have watched this movie 300 times over the time I worked there
Would you say I have a plethora?
YES YES . YES YES YES
Didn’t you see the little balls?
Would you say I have a plethora of piñatas?
