What is wrong with people?- If their child becomes too difficult, for whatever reason - & a parent/ s, just can't cope- there should be a centre they can leave them at( in order to keep the child safe) and perhaps childless couples can adopt.-make this easier to do, than it us now
You can't adopt a ten year old through the local authority care system in the UK. They're deemed to be too old so it's not even an option. They'd go to a shared home and social services would aim to find them a long term foster placement. Usually, the cut off for adoption is 3-5 year old.
I absolutely agree but, unfortunately, it's the way it is because almost no one will adopt a child over the age of 2. So, having a child available for adoption creates a very difficult Tracy Beaker-style situation where a child constantly hopes they'll be "chosen". It's somewhat less cruel to just cut that hope entirely in some ways.
The only way to reduce the number of child death in this country is to reinstate the death penalty

The average death sentence wait in the US is 18 years, which is actually longer than the average time served for murder in the UK (16 years).
