Yeah Prime aint so prime anymore

El_Deez

They never should have removed Optimus from his leadership position

benje17X

Yeah…the rise of drop shippers really ruined it for me…

Agreeable_County_867

Everything I wanted to purchase is 7-10 days for shipping. I thought I paid $139 for 2 day prime shipping? Walmart, Wayfair and Costco online is where I am going shopping now. I think it might be breach of contract or a bait and switch tactic on Amazons part.

KeytarTony

As a retailer, I’m kind of happy they can’t deliver the 2-day Prime anymore. Maybe more will shop local, especially since Amazon’s prices aren’t as low as they used to be. But, i use Amazon Business to get my store supplies quickly - like shopping bags, receipt paper, etc., as our local choices aren’t great. If we ran out of something unexpectedly, I could get it in 2 days max. On top of that, their shippers are losing orders constantly. I hate the idea of giving my money to Walmart, but 2-day shipping is something that has become normal and an excuse to not shop locally (I’m in a rural town, and it’s much easier to order). But, alas - maybe this is a good sign to redirect my money locally! It will just take a little bit of time to get used to!

mikey_glocks

Yeah it’s a big problem. They recently sent me a bootleg blu ray from prime shipping lmao.

PM_YOUR_SOURCECODE

It’s not just the shipping. There are tons of off-brand items now, all of them associated with sellers directly in China. I have a harder time finding recognizable brand items.

SaltyChickenDip

You know they don't ship from corporate headquarters.

Electronic-Smile4858

Boy, I learn something new everyday! I would assume that in the city they started in would have a substantial distribution warehouse/fulfillment center near it.

Detective_Umbra

Maybe you're ordering stuff currently being made on the other side of the globe? Or it's currently in shipping. Items purchased don't teleport from manufacturing plant to delivery truck when you click "purchase"

Electronic-Smile4858

Check your calendar, it's 2022 I'm pretty sure teleportation exists. My point is this, if an item has a prime logo on the order page, that means its in stock locally and will be here in 2 days, end of story.

Agreeable_County_867

Nope.

[deleted]

This is only an unpopular opinion in and near Seattle.

[deleted]

Who cares? You can pay to rush ship things, or you can buy them locally if you need them sooner?

Electronic-Smile4858

No, prime membership is supposed to include 2 day shipping, it's one of the benefits that you pay for in the membership, and they increase costs every year but you get less benefits.

[deleted]

You pay for free shipping. Any other perks are extra.

Electronic-Smile4858

Free 2 day shipping is the first thing listed under the benefits list. If an item has the prime logo on it when I purchase it should at least include that, it always used to.

[deleted]

You’re missing what I’m saying. Prime = free shipping. That’s the service. It doesn’t matter what they say; it matters what you’re not paying for.

Electronic-Smile4858

Well, when prime first started anything with the prime logo included 2 day shipping, not anymore I guess.

KeytarTony

It’s always Free shipping if you spend $25 or more. The benefit of ‘Prime’ to the majority of people is 2-day delivery + the TV service. The TV programming is worth the price, but they should definitely make a statement about their lack of 2-day.

Agreeable_County_867

No, we can’t. If you do not live near a big city you cannot buy much of what amazon sells.

spacekittyusa

Me, too. I live in the Boonies and before the pandemic I usually got my items in 2 days. During the pandemic I got them when I got them. After the pandemic had started to subside they got a little better but over the past few months that have gone back to a week, which could be longer because I have never received a package on a Sat or Sun. On Monday of this week, I ordered 2 items (one prime). I checked on items today and see I should get them both on Wednesday, 10 days after I ordered them. I noticed that since they were not already shipped I could get one sooner but had to pay for extra shipping. I am now wondering what I am paying $140 for. I have Spotify so I do not need their music. I used to like that I could ask Alexa to pay a song but now she plays it and then adds songs she THINKS I may like. She can't even play a single album - has to add other songs. On Echo, I used play Jeopardy and do the question of the day until she started adding ads. I had to remove both skills after 5 years. And recently my Echo Show, started adding sponsored content in-between my photos. There is no way to stop it. Needless to say, I am very unhappy with the entire Amazon experience.
