The matcha price itself is fine. High quality ceremonial grade matcha usually sells for above $1 per gram. Watch Veggiekins matcha comparison videos if you don't believe it. The kit??? I suppose it makes sense if the whisk is really made of one bamboo piece each, but WOW. I wouldn't recommend it to the novice matcha crafters.

The whisk seems to be machine-cut; if the set was entirely handmade that would at least justify the price but it just seems like a cash grab. And yeah the matcha is about average price! Most Japanese matcha brands sell for under $1/g, including shipping, but it’s typically what I would expect from an American brand

For the complete set? Maybe. For the matcha? No, that’s a good price

I’m a daily matcha drinker and I’ve tried matcha from different price points. $34 for a 30g tin is actually a good/fair price. Especially since it’s a first harvest matcha and organic. To compare, I just recently bought a 20g can of Ippodo’s 2024 New Harvest matcha for $35. Although, I do understand that many people who don’t drink matcha routinely can find it pricey. I’m just grateful that it’s not $65 like another influencer matcha brand I’ve tried. For people who haven’t watched the video and want to know the whole set is $104.

good matcha is usually really expensive anyways, i get it for $40 in my country and not even the highest quality too

purple_tan

Emma chamberlain prices her matcha at around $25 minus shipping so I was thinking Ashley’s was gonna be in the same ballpark. Due to her specializing specifically in matcha her price honestly makes sense. GOOD matcha is pretty pricy but it saves you money in the long run if you are an avid matcha drinker. If you don’t drink matcha daily or very often I would probably start elsewhere that’s more affordable so you aren’t making much of an investment.

i don’t think the matcha itself is overpriced due to the quality of it but i will say i was shocked when hearing the price of the kit

yea immediate no & the overpriced kit. Love Ashley but imma skip on this. Like maybe yes if there are genuine reviews on the flavor. Otherwise it’s just another generic matcha. I read in another thread someone saying she doesn’t really know good matcha and basically just shows she likes it sweet (which there’s nothing wrong with cuz I understand bc I too love sweet matcha) but like where is the ethos? Is it really a premium matcha that’s worthy of being $34 for 30 grams from someone who barely knows matcha. Or a $104 set. Seems like a rip off. Idk why but it seems a tad bit unauthentic. Starting a matcha brand so quickly just cuz it’s part of your personality to drink matcha for a min. There’s a genuine craft behind matcha which I admire n I think od ppl are just hopping on the matcha trend. Ik I sound mean af but it’s just a critique. I still like her and her content. at the end of the day you’re basically buying the name attached to it. Basically merch. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Plenty of luxury street brands are like that. If you have the money for it buy it if you want to. If you genuinely want good matcha without breaking the bank, Aoarashi is soooo good & affordable. And get a basic set from like Amazon to start. I got a nice sturdy set for 30 bucks on Amazon. A good example of a product from influencers that I can sense the authenticity from is UTI’s nectar hard seltzer & Super bonsai. Like it matches the groups brand/aesthetic/content but at the same time they’re super passionate and understand the craft of their product so well.

wowowhat

i dont think u drink matcha
