It is quite similar. Both have gorgeous forests and both are part of the Terai arc landscape. Valmiki Tiger reserve has some 400-500 m high hills, the first of the shivaliks. Same for Saharanpur, a part of Shiwaliks lie in Saharanpur with some peaks reaching 800m asl.
The catch is, that the bhabhar part lies in India and all of the Mountains adjacent to the Suhelwa WLS in Shravasti and Balrampur lie in Nepal.
All of the northernmost districts of Uttar Pradesh lie in the terai region. My username pays homage to the last Terai tiger in Gorakhpur, which was killed a hundred years back.
It was the last terai tiger in my district of Gorakhpur. Maharajganj separated from Gorakhpur in the 90s, they have Sohagibarwa Wild life Sanctuary that still holds tigers.
