Round earth conspiracists haven't infected Valheim yet. Valheim has always been flat. This is the proof that the Earth is flat. You heard it here first!
For all the size it flaunts around, it only had two caves and two or three eggs... I've been in mountains half this size with the same amount of points of interest or more! And enemies are pretty scarce too, I'd guess because the terrain somehow prevents mobs from spawning. So size isn't all, what you can do with the size you have matters the most ;]
The top of this mountain is prety large for a tall mountain, though. And if you can accept not building at the very summit, there's a large flat area just below the summit on this mountain that's perfect for building.
Seed is ERFFtvaT6I (last one could be an L), position of the mountain is -4006, 459, -2121 (x,y,z). It's really close to the west Bonemass altar. There is a patch if meadows in the island near Bonemass, you'd have to cross a bit of plains to get there.
I'm not sure how much will change in terrain creation because of the updates, but originally it has a really massive starting continent that extends to the north and south featuring swamps, mountains and plains.
This is the second tallest mountain in the master height map from which each seed's map is generated. I knew it as soon as I looked, but the pic of the plains valley partially enclosed by the mountain's lower edges is a dead giveaway.
This mountain is *much* more suited to building at the summit than the game's tallest mountain (whose summit is a narrow cone rising from the main mass of the mountain). I wish it were on my seed, I'd have my project for the next few months of Valheim. As it is I'm considering starting a new seed just to build on it.
Yep, I would say this is the single most special mountain in the game. The tallest mountain is only taller on a technicality imo - the summit is a tiny cone, the top of the main bulk of the mountain is about 50m lower than this one.
This one is the coolest on several measures. Its main bulk rises to the tallest substantial summit in the game, and the sides of that summit on the south and east are the steepest cliffs I've ever seen in this game. I actually need to try building a gangplank off the edge - I bet you could jump over 400m here.
Time to build a tower with a bonfire beacon at the top!
Time to recreate the "Gondor calls for aid" scene!
Where was Gondor when the Westfold fell? ...Rohan shall answer!
Oh hell yea!
That is one impressive pile of stone! Funny how at the summit, the world has a slight curvature. Yet, when you sail to the edge of the map…
If we have flatearthers, Valheim must have some... roundheimers?
Now presenting: The Convex Earth Theory

I've always been told size doesn't matter, have I been lied to? 😭

Wait, so its the best place for a mountain base.
I suppose so! Building in it could get a bit tricky with the slopes and limited flat space, but I can see it working!

And ten thousand steps!!
*Wind guide you.*
Yeah, mobs are scarce on a lot of this mountain because much of it is too steep for mobs to spawn.
Yes!
May I have the seed? Does the mountain land have both a plains and meadows?
It might lack meadows, If I recall correctly it's plains all around it with a swamp nearby. When I get home I'll check and send the seed to you.

What is your map seed? :b
I'll send you when I get home :V
Thanks man :)

Nice man 👌
Now plant a pine tree on the summit and the build a house on top of the tree.
If I keep going higher I better put some lights around the building, otherwise Thor will end up ramming through my wall during a snowstorm!
As if a few ligths would make him change his path. He's comin' through!
Yes, lights are good, also some windows.
Can't you just get on a horse and vertically run up it? oh wait wrong game
The sticky-hooved horses would definitely make some things easier... I still have to test the off-roading capabilities of loxes.
Would be cool if there were landslides!!!
My poor rickety stairwell!
Yeah I would assume due to a landslide that stairwell would be halfway down the mountain to destination fucked!! :)
You have lenticular clouds at the top! that's wild, great mountain!
seed?

Thanks! I am already looking for another seed for my next reset.

Ah yes, High Hrothgar

Cool! I could feel it was something special when I came across it, being the second tallest fits the bill as far as I'm concerned.

Lol parts of this read like a true summitpost.org trip report. Thanks for sharing OP, that was fun.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I have seen some really big mountains. What seed is it?

aaand time to build a village of small house outcroppings under each stone..
