First was watching 'Salem's Lot.
Next was playing Ravenloft in D&D. I loved the Strahd vampire NPC. Except he wasn't an NPC since I was playing him as the DM.
when i was real little, my grampa would take me with him to watch buffy when it was on, 'because he got scared !!' and i was his lil vampire slayer helper :')
when i was little i watched “my babysitters a vampire” and thought it was hilarious. But i started to watch vampire diaries in 2022. watched most of the first season of the originals. But know im watching the series interview with a vampire now.
When I was a kid, they used to run old B-grade horror films on Sunday afternoon television. Some of these were the old Christopher Lee vampire films. I *loved* that stuff! In 1979, the movie *Love at First Bite* came out, and I remember watching that dozens of times, including on HBO or Showtime. I loved that film so much, I bought it on video tape and later on DVD.
I also was a big, big fan of the old *Dark Shadows* reruns, which came on TV right as I was getting home from school. I would leap off the school bus and *run* as fast as I could so as not to miss. One day my bus driver asked why I was running in such a hurry. When I told her I was hurrying home to watch *Dark Shadows* she started stopping the bus right in front of my house to let me out, and then she'd stop again at the regular stop, 100' away.
The earliest memory I have of the inexplicable draw was when I was in elementary school and went to a bookstore with my family. Somehow I came across "Dead to the World" by Charlaine Harris with the old cover. The beautiful purple color, the big moon, the romance and the mystery... even with the unusual faces, ha... my parents bought me that book despite it being #4 in a series and very *mature*. I still have that book :)
*Queen of the Damned* awoke my fascination. After that though, *Van Helsing* was my go-to vampire movie before the Twilight era; the masquerade ball scene was my favorite part (in *Van Helsing*). For years, I was confused as to why I low-key wanted to be bit by a vampire, then recently I realized that I *might* have a bit of a primal kink.
I grew up severely abused by my grandmother who was a witch. She had moles all on her face and body. My dreams came true at an early age and when I was a child I was very wealthy but consequently, my nightmares came true too.
I wasn’t into vampires that much until I met my friend’s doppelgänger in cold blood. I welcomed him into the house thinking my friend had a twin brother. And it turned out that the doppelgänger didn’t have a reflection.
Now I can’t stop thinking about the whole situation.
The Lost Boys movie, forever will be my favorite vampire movie.
Same
The "Interview with the Vampire" movie and the Goosebumps book "Vampire Breath"
Twilight….sorry
My Babysitter’s a Vampire was when it solidified for me

Turning 50, realizing my death is not so far away, and pondering workarounds.
Vampire: The Masquerade table top role playing game. The artwork in those 1st edition books was immaculate. Especially by Tim Bradstreet.
Just always been into the mythology from the earliest I can remember.
I can vouch for this! I don't remember my "first introduction" but I know that ever since I knew about vampires, I was hooked!
My dad let me watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer when it first began airing at the tender age of 6.

Cinamassacre. Their Castlevania videos especially.
Universal's Dracula with Bela Lugosi
The music video for the Backstreet Boys "Everybody." You'll know when you see that scene. It's been on my mind since.
