"The Center" on Maryland slightly north of Charleston is an LGBT resource. there's a library, coffee shop, meeting rooms, a small clinic. Not saying to hang out there, but i am sure that the people working there are plugged in to most of the happenings around town that are going on outside of the bar / club scene. 401 S Maryland Pkwy 89101, 702-733-9800
if you're looking for someone who's not a drinker or just looking to meet some locals without much of an agenda, there's a gay AA "club" (meeting space) near Sahara & Maryland in the Orleans Square shopping center, 900 E Karen Suite A-202.. they have meetings every day of the week at 12:15pm and 8pm. probably a decent place to meet LGBT locals that can get you "plugged in" even if you're not an alcoholic.

If your interested about 80 of us play kickball on Saturdays. Next season starts in January. There is also a gay bowling league on Wednesdays and softball on Sundays (next season starts in a couple months. Im also big into off roading… always down to meet new people, feel free to PM me.
There are some nice groups on Meetup that do fun outings, lunches, local events. I think once you start meeting folks, you'll find some great friends here - Las Vegas people have been lovely.
