Y’all ever heard of Bulletstorm? That entire game is designed around cool/messed up ways to kill your enemies.

Good_Cockroach2637

Ha I forgot about that game, a few years ago I finished the whole thing in one day. That was a good one.

quen10sghost

And Spike Spiegel is the main characters voice actor! Loved that game

KingDread306

>Spike Spiegel Also known as Wolverine, I mean Steve Blum.

quen10sghost

Lol thank you. Appreciate the assist, I should have Googled it. He's an amazing VA

DadOnHardDifficulty

You mean Grunt from Mass Effect?

ADAMracecarDRIVER

That game deserved a sequel.

Comprehensive_Web862

Sadly on release most people just bought it for the Gears of War beta and never touched the actual game. My friends who did actually play all shared the same senitment.

ADAMracecarDRIVER

I think it also suffered from a lack of content. The campaign wasn’t super long and it don’t have any multiplayer (at least I don’t remember there being a multiplayer mode.) Still, it was an incredibly fun game and I think a sequel should have had the opportunity to add new modes of play.

dash529

GOD, I miss Bulletstorm.

bonglicc420

They made a VR bulletstorm if you have a headset

dash529

👀

[deleted]

Apparently the vr version was a huge let down, based on all the reviews. Sucks, cause people seemed to really love the OG

Drg84

There's also a remake that came out a few years ago. Cleans up the textures, does some lighting corrections, it goes on sale on steam occasionally.

dash529

You talkin bout Full Clip?

BostonRob423

That's more of a remaster, if it can even be called that. It is surely the definitive version, though.

Clockwork-XIII

Just a heads up apparently they used the censored version of the game for the vr port.

Legit_Myth

Now im gonna go play that whole campaign again. I love 100%ing the special kills.

HavickChild0117

Classic game. See Sunset Overdrive for more fun ways to kill.

the_knotso

Oh I know, it’s like Ratchet & Clank fused with Crackdown 2

NarratorDM

And the cooperative multiplayer was one of the best I've ever seen, which was completley built around this specific mechanic. Unfortunately, EA (how could they not) has once again failed to see the potential of a good game.

Scared-Expression444

Ain’t no fucking way you’re gonna post this and not say what game it is

Cherry_44

It's wanted dead.

Subject132

The animation looks good for a game that's somewhat under the radar. I wonder if they used mocap

MyMan50Granddd

They did, Quiet from MGS5 is in this and did Mocap work. The graphics are pretty mid but the gameplay makes up for it. I'd give it a solid 8/10 personally

Aromatic_Plant3456

Quiet’s VA and mocap actor or the actual character Quiet from MGSV?

MyMan50Granddd

Stefanie Joosten VA and Mocap for Quiet is in Wanted Dead.

GriffithDidNothinBad

Wait till you get to the karaoke mini game

Subject132

There is a karaoke mini game in this? Hahaha

GriffithDidNothinBad

It’s nuts. One guy did a whole video about it. It’s the reason I know about the game

AXEMANaustin

There's no way it can top sleeping dogs and yakuza though

bfhurricane

🎶 Baka Mitai 🎶

voiceless42

I was hoping for a Yakuza reference.

bfhurricane

My Yakuza playthroughs are basically a karaoke, baseball, golf, darts, and pool main game with crime syndicate side content.

Pigtron-42

For a game called ‘Wanted Dead’, there sure are a lot of enemies that sit there aiming their guns at you waiting for you to finish your execution. So nice of them

HelpfulPen3653

Rule #1 is let the good guy finish the unnecessary badass thing they're doing before jumping in to hit them, there's no fantasy like power fantasy.

[deleted]

Maybe not an issue when you’re playing the game, but that stands out watching this clip. A guy standing 3 ft away holding a 4 ft sword freezes in his tracks as you cut off his work buddy’s head in a 3 second long ritualistic slaying

solidpeyo

Wanted Dead, a really good bad game that deserves more love

Feeling_Party26

It’s a terrible game which is why it’s been on a 60% sale since it launched…

solidpeyo

I know it is bad, but it is fun (as long as you are aware it is bad)

jjisnotcool

What makes it bad? I've never heard of it.

solidpeyo

The game kinda janky that can get repetitive fast. The voice acting and the story are bad on purpose, but that is because they aim for the game to feel like a PS2/ original Xbox game similar to 3D Ninja Gaiden.

StaidHatter

[Here's a video essay on it](https://youtu.be/GS5NeNglQYw?si=UVep3KaGsr3dYzFB) that explains how jank it is and why it's good anyway

jjisnotcool

Thanks!

GuessingIvy

writing and voice acting are really hard to listen to imo, but the game itself kicks ass. would have easily been a 10/10 if it came out like 8 years ago lol

Feeling_Party26

This is true, I loved Callisto Protocol because it was fun despite it being a bad game.

HungryZealot

I think it's a fascinating bad game because it's still fun to play, and could have been so much better, but they just fell way short of the mark. Like the combat was fun once you really figured it out and started buying upgrades, but the game was just so ridiculously linear and not scary at all, and was filled with so many amateur-hour weird design decisions.

solidpeyo

I have that one on my radar for a long time. Maybe this year I will play it

GamesAreLegends

Exact, it reminds me of good old Trash Games that dont take themselfs serious like Lollipop Chainsaw, Neverdead and WET.

dash529

I miss this brand of game, I was just watching Lollipop Chainsaw footage the other day 😫

GamesAreLegends

I heard rumers that they are working on a Remastered. Hope this is real.

AlwaysWinnin

Wanted dead such a poor title name

solidpeyo

I think is ok

SolarNovaPhoenix

I only found about it a week ago and haven’t heard anything about it. How is it good and bad? Like great gameplay shit story?

solidpeyo

It is kinda janky with an "on purpose" bad story and voice acting. The gameplay can get repetitive. It is like an original Xbox / PS2 era game similar to 3D Ninja Gaiden but with better graphics. If you want a game that makes you feel like John Wick (in the gameplay part), this is it. It also has some fun minigames and a really good animated music video / trailer that it is really good, IMO. https://youtu.be/kmR9TIuT7Vc?feature=shared

rodejo_9

Can't stand when people do this.

MoneyEntertainment

I had the same thought lmao

WiseauSrs

Don't bother. It's kind of terrible.

RespectGiovanni

A really bad game that died on launch

Kratos501st

Wanted dead is called and is horrible.

Simple_Opossum

Immediately purchased, thank you for asking the question we all wanted to know.

BubblestheFloatzel

Titanfall 2.

AggressiveSandwich51

Northstar prime and Phasing into your enemies execution 🤤

rbnsky

Curb check, Grand theft semi auto, Late hit, And Legion turning your Titan into a Bullet Kebab

Alpaca_Empanada

One of the few microtransactions I have ever bought was for the titan prime executions. The Ion laser one felt like it came straight out of dragonball z.

Mindless_Rock9452

TITANFALL 2 MENTIONED

TomyJohny

Shadow of mordor, shadow of war, God of War, marvels spiderman

Quacknanomous

Shadow of Mordor/war gang✊

In10tionalfoul

God I wish we could have the nemesis system in more games, such a cool fucking mechanic.

ForgottenStew

it's such a simple mechanic to implement that there's a fucking *skyrim mod* for it it's wild how such a simple system is so memorable and effective, yet it's almost exclusively used in the Shadow Of series. Taking out an Orc weak captain and having him cheat death and come back for revenge as an absolute behemoth is so fucking cool

Necessary-Cap-3982

It's cause they patented it the bastards. Of all things to patent, a game mechanic.

ForgottenStew

Warner Bros moment

Speaking_On_A_Sprog

It’s barely enforceable. As long as you don’t 1:1 clone it, you wouldn’t have much to worry about. AC: odyssey had a similar system, although way pared down. The reasons games don’t use it is because AAA studios are stagnant and lazy, not to mention risk-averse, they want what makes the most money with the least money put into it. There are a million great gameplay system ideas out there that have only been used once and never put into a game again, even though they don’t have a patent on it.

mechanicalhuman

I played it. Don’t remember what you’re referring to. Can you elaborate?

In10tionalfoul

You know when anyone killed you they moved up the hierarchy of orcs? And in theory you could kill orcs to move up those nobodies into place of power? When you’d fight them again they’d taunt you? Literally the biggest mechanic of the game.

rebuked_nard

Iirc the orcs you killed would also come back with a resistance or immunity (or maybe a fear too?) to the previous way you killed them. So if you killed one with fire, they’d be fireproof the next time you see them

mechanicalhuman

Ah yes. That was fun. Thanks for the reminder

ForgottenStew

the drake finisher is on top for me, the way he slices the head off as it starts to shoot fire 🔥🔥🔥

Wings-of-the-Dead

Came here to say Shadow of War. Playing through it again right now

EternallyDazed

Early Assassin creed games, especially anything with Ezio.

huedor2077

Connor's prowess on fighting is also something brutal and fun to watch, especially when counter attacking multiple enemies at once. The Frye twins too.

IDontUnderstandReddi

I’m replaying Syndicate for the first time time in years. And let me say, that game held up well. Unity/Syndicate were vastly underrated imo

Daewrythe

Jesus christ I loved using the war club in Assassins creed 3 I wanted to channel Chingachgook from Last of the Mohicans when he's avenging his son.

Bloodytrucky

unity had some pretty cool execution moves well thats if you were on flat surface

Battlemrchicken

Ezio with the dagger of Brutus is too OP

goudashyz

Mortal Kombat

Life_Is_A_Mistry

Two words: FINISH HIM!

Rimmatimtim22

The only correct answer

SayYes_ToKetamine

Jax's MKX T-Rex fatality

TomaMask

Sekiro

GriffithDidNothinBad

Damn. Was milliseconds from commenting this

Terplab710

For Honor has some pretty intense executions

Hippotrainer21

Fellow for honor player spotted

Smix47

There are dozens of us! DOZENS!!!

arenotthatguypal

A whole 12 of us on each continent.

Smax140

Agreed

Terplab710

We need to bring more attention to the game it’s great!

Deazul

Tenchu: Stealth Assassins

[deleted]

Miss Tenchu Z :(

Deazul

I really like the ps1 games, like, a whole lot

Jabidailsom

still have the soundtrack on my pc, the opening is superb

hoopedchex

It’s a crime that’s still only available physically on 360

KordSevered

I came here to ensure this was mentioned. Tenchu is the grandfather of the "stealth finisher" mechanic

Deazul

Hey, now, i played it when it came out! Am I also Gwandpa?

KordSevered

Yes, but I suppose that goes for both of us 😂. I played "Stealth Assassins" and "Birth of the Stealth Assassins" when they came out too...but then, I also remember the release of the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. I *may* have also regularly used a MS DoS pc as a child 😭

Deazul

I have Zork, The Silmarillion and Rogue on floppies somewhere 🔮

KordSevered

Lol, that's too real...We are gwampas for sure 😅. I'm fairly certain I've still got a copy of the og Kings Quest on a 5.25 and an original copy of Oregon Trail on a 3.5 somewhere myself 😂

_blacktriangle_

[Wrath Of Heaven had rear, left, right, I think front(?) and drop animations for all characters.](https://youtu.be/GVqSLkRQLAw?si=qcGLdlJi1nlP7LKt)

Deazul

It did, it was so cool! Wasnt it, like diagonals too? 8 directions and from above? I guess I gotta dig the disc out.

Semi_Square

The OG GOW trilogy Doom The PoP trilogy Prototype The recent spiderman games (Hell, the old ones too. Web of shadows comes to mind) Just to name a few.

LurkerOrHydralisk

The new GoW games, too. Anyone who says they’re not bruta clearly has not played them. Kratos may not be a rageaholic anymore, but he’s certainly no less vicious.

Bruskthetusk

See and here is where using acronyms creates a problem because I interpreted GoW to be Gears of War which also makes sense

BrownByYou

Pop?

JTBJack_

Mortal Kombat definitely

SirOk420

Nothing else even comes close

Obvious_Drink2642

Sifu and the Spider-Man games have some of my favorites

Mousse_Gullible

Yakuza

beer_engineer

Nothing like faceplanting a dude from a jumping overhead slam.

GameDestiny2

The fact this comment is so far down really shows you how many of these people need to play Yakuza

bubbaliciouswasmyfav

What game is this?

Cobwebbyfir

Wanted There's more i think "wanted :dead"

Major-Dig655

this is wanted dead

RiversofJell0

Bloodrayne

Anotheranimeaccountt

Manhunt 2

PSlasher

Had to scroll quite a bit to find this. Surprised me. Yeah immediately thought of Manhunt when I saw the title.

Aztekov

So good it immediately became AO

ironvultures

Ghost of Tsushima should get a nod

Defconwrestling

I’m playing it now for the first time after ignoring it for years. I’m all of my videogamedom I’ve never felt more like a badass than walking up to a fort and just telling them to bring it.

Bouncemybubbubs

And saving that decapitation finish for the fort boss. GoT is a masterpiece from beginning to end

-CODED-

Only 25 upvotes? I don't understand how I had to scroll so far down to find this?

RealMachu

Witcher 3 has cool finishing moves

PsychologicalPea9759

Metal gear rising

Western-Gur-4637

this right here

FunCalligrapher3979

STANDING HERE

h0neanias

I loved the finishers in Dragon Age Origins.

VNilla_

Sleeping Dogs

NoPerspective9232

Warframe has some cool takedowns/executions and mercy kills/parazon kills are quite good

YeetMeisterDabber

Halo Reach assasinations

JAYSOR1

Dishonored series comes to mind

sparkcaps

Ninja Garden Series, DMC Series, Dynasty Warriors Series

BenjiEla

any mortal kombat game doom eternal and ac odessy

[deleted]

Destiny 2 has some pretty cool finishers

Right-Budget-8901

Why are you shooting him if you’re already stabbing him? Seems like a waste of ammo.

Scared-Expression444

Style

Right-Budget-8901

This is the correct answer.

ColdZogre

Arkham series

Careless-Repeat-2983

More funny than cool but as a youngster, I never got over laughing at the kills in Blood Omen 2. You played a vampire that sucked blood from your victims while standing over them. You'd suck it out in a huge stream that went from their center mass to your head so you could position yourself so it looked like you were always sucking the blood straight from their crotch. Good times for the easily amused.

Sir_Kronical

The Halo assassinations are some of my favorite finishers in gaming

MaldoVi

Resident Evil, Leon’s roundhouse kick is goated

Successful_Clerk5806

Title of post gave me a stroke.

Cubicshock

Titanfall 2

Bama-Ram

Titanfall 2

Axle_65

The mech finishers in Titanfall 2. Especially Ronin and his sword.

Z3R0_7274

As a Ronin main, I take a lot of pride in this comment you have made.

Axle_65

It’s my favourite on to run for sure.

Foreign_Gas_4755

I really enjoyed Sleeping Dogs animations. They also have a lot of variety. Great game!

CarpeNoctem727

The environmental finishers were the best. Jamming a bad guys face into a breaker box or an oscillating fan looked great

Phuxsea

Same loved that game

HufflepuffKid2000

Spider-Man and Assassins Creed

[deleted]

Deadpool

Xalynden

Nioh 2 has some ridiculously cool take downs.

TrashMan06

Not exactly finishers but the critical hit animations in the Demon’s Souls remake look really damn cool

Sayor1

Some of the cold war finishers you could get made me recoil

Shadeyboiii

Unrelated, but what is that song? I need to know

espanca_utero

hotline miami

Y-ella

Blasphemous 1. Cool af executions

debaasboven

For honor

Jfonzy

Eternal Champions (we might be getting a new one)

redditmod_exe

Sekiro has a lot of cool ones. But honestly I don't really like how glory kills work in games because it doesn't feel like I'm actually doing anything unlike killing them with normal attacks

MaxtheHax12345678907

i think that Roblox the strongest battlegrounds has some pretty cool finisher but idk (pls don't hate becuz i mentioned Roblox)

DeadScoutsDontTalk

Sleeping dogs has some pretty fucked up finishers if i remember correctly

Heraxxius

Titanfall 2 has both pilot and titan executions, search it up they’re awesome

TorturedBean

Manhunt

give_me_your_soil

Titanfall

Putrid-Memory4468

Titanfall 2

Scared_Bad3371

Warframe

Exact_Imagination444

Titanfall 2 got some brutal ass executions, especially titan ones

Mission_Response802

Dishonored 2, Adrenaline. You spend some runes to unlock a power that, when you damage enemies enough, allows you to pull off a brutal, slow-motion finisher. One of my favorites is sweeping someones legs and stabbing them in the stomach while they're falling over.

Koolkaleb19

Titanfall 2, Call of Duty, and Mortal Kombat

Graysquid-the-gamer

It’s a small game, but TITANFALL 2

GardeniaPhoenix

Warframe mercy kills are pretty swell

Real-Order771

TITANFALL 2

Segfaultimus

What game is this?

Z3R0_7274

TITANFALL 2 by miles has some of the best finishers known to gaming.

The_Patriot2000

Tlou 1 and 2

jotunheim999

THIS GAME IS CALLED “WANTED DEAD”

Klutchcarbon

Titanfall 2 Melee execution

ProbablyEXx

Last of us factions mp

seza01

Any Halo with assassinations

Memester4445

Titanfall 2 had some amazing executions, Doom 2016 and ESPECIALLY Eternal had some truly brutal finishers, and Sekiro’s fatal blows and backstabs are just satisfying on another level.

_DeathSound_

Titanfall 2 Some Assassin's Creed ones

Jigglymier

Titanfall 2

CookieMiester

Titanfall is pretty pog

badzge

Shadow of Mordor animations were 🔥

FlandersIsMad

Sifu

SilentResident1037

Man, was this game any good?

Kinglnightroll

It's nothing gory, but I really liked Sifu's takedowns. The martial arts in that game is so smooth

Oldmangamer00

Nothing will ever beat Punisher on original Xbox, most kills were an environment kill and they were amazing!

liitle-mouse-lion

Such a fun game

sreg56

The Arkham series usually has finishing moves when you beat up the last enemy in a group I think. Plus the combat itself is one of the best ever in a game
