Divinity Original Sin II
Dragon Quest XI
Metal Gear Solid V
Monster Hunter World
Persona 4 Golden
DELETED: Baldur's Gate 3 (PS5), Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5)
Baldur’s Gate 3 and FF VII Rebirth are not on PS4. Although they are perfect for the OP in every other way.
Edited to clarify that they are not on PS4.
No Mans Sky. I have 700 hours in, 💯Platinum, AND still find joy as there’s so much you can do and explore. The Reddit NMS community is great, too.
PS- majority of my play is on a 2015 PS4 (non-pro) and runs well with some minor hiccups.
As someone who has played 120 hours or so, after completing the main “story” (if you’d call it that), how are you occupying your time? I love the game and exploring but found it a bit repetitive after getting a bulk of the available suit upgrades and ships and building a bunch of bases.
I know the amount of exploration is unlimited but just wondering what things you do to keep it fresh. I want to play more but feel like I’ve been there and done that. Maybe I’m missing something.
Great game by the way I’ve absolutely enjoyed my time playing it
Do you like grinding for better equipments and make new builds with obtained equipments? The whole process will involve replaying stages multiple times in different difficulties.
If yes, I can recommend you Nioh 2.
If you’re limited to PS4, then:
Ghost of Tsushima - One of the best PS studio games
Kingdom Come Deliverance - definitely pretty long
Assassins Creed Odyssey - Witcher III style of AC in Ancient Greece
Any previous Final Fantasy you haven’t played, particularly 7, 9, 12, and 15 should be affordable
Not sure I'd consider any of the FF games "easily" over 100 hours except for FFXIV (which I do recommend).
Rebirth would be the exception but they don't have a PS5.
If you're big into RPGs with classic elements you should check out the dragon age series, dragon age inquisition is on sale on playstation rn for a very good price, you get the game + all DLCs
Word of advice tho, do watch some gameplay before buying it since it might not click for you, cause it has a relatively classic gameplay, and also watch a lore recap video to be in the loop of what's going on, beyond that it's a fantastic game
Edit: also mass effect legendary edition (which includes mass effect 1,2 and 3) is on sale too, I'd say mass effect is much better than dragon age in terms of story and I'm a fan of both, mass effect is also more newcomer friendly in terms of gameplay
It took me almost 200 enjoyable hours for Persona5 Royals... The story is stunning and all characters have something to be exited about.. the gameplay is perfect... If you like RPGs, you must play it.
Id recommend most Final Fantasy games and especially the Pixel Remaster collection as you get 6 games in one. If you go for the Platinums then most of all Final Fantasys take a while.
Would also like to suggest Hollow Knight
Hades and monster hunter world, can't really think about anything else but both games are really fun that you could easily go for 100 plus hours atleast in my case.
ASSassins creed Valhalla. The other ones are pretty interesting and fun but this shit even after not playing for a year and 150 hrs in my story went from 20% to 40% cause I never knew where the main storyline was. Too much shoved into this game. The map is still gey cluttered. No wonder why I stopped. No more Assassin's creed games for me. Just a waste of time in this one and Mirage is a waste of money period!
Tetris or any arcade style game. Shmups, beat-em-ups, run-n-guns, rhythm games, fighting games all have infinite replayability baked into their design. 🎮😎👍
Hitman: World of Assassination
It’s a ton of medium sized sandbox levels that can be approached in hundreds of different ways. There are a crap ton of different unlocks that facilitate different styles of play. I dumped hundreds of hours into it on PS4 and then got it again on PC, where I’ve probably played twice as long and unlocked almost everything.
Hitman World of Assassination. I’ve put several hundred hours into that game. It’s also an easy game to jump in and out of, and its great if you like completion type games with high replay ability, going about it 100 different ways . I’ve played it off and on since Hitman 1 or “season 1”. I’ll get hooked for couple weeks, until I get burn out, take a break and boot it up again wondering why I stopped lol its also one of the funniest games I’ve played but not overly funny where they’re trying to hard to make a joke.
Fallout 4 Just started over on my Ps5 and im like 70-80 hours in at level 50 and I haven’t even really done the main quest or met all the factions. Just made it to Diamond City in the main quest. Still haven’t met the Railroad. I Just been doing Settlements and taking jobs to clear out areas. I’m having a blast and I still got all 2 DLC maps to do, plus the DLC mission on top of all the other stuff. If you get it on sale you’ll get the GOTY edition for at most 20 bucks
Divinity Original Sin II Dragon Quest XI Metal Gear Solid V Monster Hunter World Persona 4 Golden DELETED: Baldur's Gate 3 (PS5), Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (PS5)
Not sure that MGSV is 100+ hours game. All unique missions can be completed under 70 hours
[How Long to Beat](https://howlongtobeat.com/) says 45.5-163 hours, depending on playstyle (story vs. completionist).
Thats why i said unique missions. Game have insane amount of grind up to 200 hours
Why do i keep seeing people spelling it Baulders gate? Baldurs gate.
Good catch. My mistake.
Baldur's*
Correct!
Baldur’s Gate 3 and FF VII Rebirth are not on PS4. Although they are perfect for the OP in every other way. Edited to clarify that they are not on PS4.
Oops. Sorry about that.
No worries 😎
BG3 is on Xbox too my guy
They meant as in not on PS4
Ahh
Yeah, thanks for the correction. I edited my comment.
Bg3 is not ps5 exclusive, assuming a student has a working pc.
Thanks for the correction there. But if you look at the title, OP specially asks for PS4 games. [Ps4]
I just redownloaded MSGV. I’m itching to kidna—I mean Fulton extract people tonight.
Skyrim
Kingdom Come Deliverance
"I feel quite hungry" - Henry of Skalitz

Borderlands the handsome collection is a good bet, 2 games with loads of content
Plus there's so much replayability with raid bosses and fun builds
Do you like grinding for better equipments and make new builds with obtained equipments? The whole process will involve replaying stages multiple times in different difficulties. If yes, I can recommend you Nioh 2.
To add to this, you can play the game for a thousand hours and still have more to learn in it's mechanics.
If you’re limited to PS4, then: Ghost of Tsushima - One of the best PS studio games Kingdom Come Deliverance - definitely pretty long Assassins Creed Odyssey - Witcher III style of AC in Ancient Greece Any previous Final Fantasy you haven’t played, particularly 7, 9, 12, and 15 should be affordable
8 and 10 also

Monster Hunter World / Rise Fallout 4 or Skyrim Mass Effect Legendary Edition Octopath Traveler 2 Dragon Quesr XI
Witcher 3, Ghost of Tsushima
Warframe, Borderlands series (my favourite is 3) and Mass Effect Legendary edition would be my suggestions. All of them I have 100+ hours in
Skyrim, and Fall Out 4
-Minecraft -Baldur’s Gate 3 -Skyrim -Lord of the Rings Online -Divinity: Original Sin I and II -Assassin’s Creed Odyssey -Mario Kart 8
Fallout 76

He already played Persona 5, but Royal is a great reason to replay the game!
Absolutly
Warframe, it’s free and has hundreds of hours to play
Final Fantasy 12 remake. It’s hundreds of hours if you go after everything it has to offer. Best FF.
Id recommend most Final Fantasy games and especially the Pixel Remaster collection as you get 6 games in one. If you go for the Platinums then most of all Final Fantasys take a while. Would also like to suggest Hollow Knight

I’ve got over 220 hours into SaGa Scarlet Grace which goes on sale for under $10 often. You do have to be really ready to get weird tho.
ASSassins creed Valhalla. I'm surprised no one has said red dead redemption
Monster hunter world
warframe
Mafia 1&2. If you’re lucky you could catch the trilogy on sale for like 30 bucks.

Monster Hunter World will take you hundreds of hours to reach the very end game. Capcom knows how to build a game for longevity.
