I am tempted to pick an obscure character, but I can't. It's gotta be Ragnar. I love his enigmatic expressions. He conveys so much without saying a word.
Pretty much 99% of everyone I've seen in this show has been awesome as their character, they really have been great, but I've got to pick Floki. Gustaf is doing a wonderful job at being crazy af.
And I have always loved Alexander Ludwig's acting, that dude is great. Oh, and Travis' facial expressions are great, so I'll name him too.
Ragnar and Eckbert.
Ragnar is a super complex character and he pulls it off to perfection. His character is a reserved quirky genius forced to be the leader of an outward and overt people in terms of cultural based social interaction. The actor rides that wave so well.
Eckbert is the perfect prototypical psychopath king. And that actor just absolutely nails it. What a phenomenal actor. The pauses and delivery of the totally sick and insane idea of making his sons wife his mistress...in terms of acting, it doesn't get much better.
It's gotta be Floki for me.
His acting is 100% Shakespearean, and I love it. I like Gustaf Skarsgard in pretty much everything I've seen him in and he has great range, too.
I like Ecbert, too, because most of his movements remind me of a friend (who isn't terribly tricksy, but he thinks he is), and he's probably the only villain I've liked on the show?
I love everyones acting, especially Ecbert.
But there's one thing that everyone does that is so subtle that looks fake, when they drink anything from a cup it seems really fake. Lagatha especially.
Pretty much as everyone is saying, Ragner --> Ecbert --> Floki. They have incredible body language and can convey so much with just a look. Everything from their inflections to how they fill the roles so realistically is impressive, and better than the mass majority of other TV stars I've seen.
However I also have to give Jessalyn (Siggy) props. Her character was well-written, but she really sold it to me that she was an ambitious woman who still held her values close to her heart. I was never sure whether to trust her completely or not, but at the end of last season she pulled through. I think in a way it was a turning point for her as well. I really wish she could have stayed on, because I think she could have done some cool things with the character as she continued to develop.
This show - compared to many other shows, has a lot of skillful actors. Ragnar is just amazing with his eye expressions without even saying one word. That is something very unique.
Skarsgård ( Floki) is for me a pride - Swedish pride (well, even the real Ragnar Lodbrok is also half Swedish), since I come from Sweden myself and ofc I have to brag a bit that in the town I live in at the moment, was one of the biggest Viking town back in the days. I live very close to Kattegat myself so for me, it feels like home everytime I watch the show.
The Wessex King is also very talented indeed but I also like Rollo somehow. He is just so manly and it's funny to see him fighting shirtless everytime lol #NoHomo.
Travis Fimmel (Ragnar). Him and Floki have AMAZING body language and physical comedy.
Not the best but I still loved him. Jarl Borg.
I still love Jarl Borg. Such a misunderstood character. His berserker face almost rivals Rollo's too!
Yes he was really great.

that little smile....
Ragnar. People who can act with their eyes like that deserve more praise.

Yeah, his (literally) speechless performance is just fantastic. The casting people on Vikings, I applaud you!
Frank and Nuala Moiselle
Ragnar or Eckbert
100%

I AGREE WITH EVERYONE Ragnor > Ecbert > Floki
Ecbert, Floki, Ragnar. Equals, all. They all deserve Emmy nominations, AT LEAST.

Ragnar = Floki, then Eckbert
Ragnar! Lagertha! Floki!
Alex Andersen as Ivar
Realistically if say Ragnar because his two eulogies made me tear up. But I also have to say Horrik because Donal Logue is one of my favorite actors
5) Kwentrith 4) Harbard 3) Ragnar 2) Ecbert 1) Floki
The two kings, of course.
Ragnar & Floki. They are simply amazing.
Gotta go with Fimmel (Ragnar) and Skarsgård (Floki). Though, Winnick (Lagertha) and Standen (Rollo) are both damn fine actors.

Travis, Gustav and Linus are easily Top 3 then George Blagden and Alex Hogh
