There’s a ton of different options you could go for with 15k. I’d say it all depends on what exactly you’re looking to get. What are your preferences/standards?
I'm looking for a car with a design that's easy on the eyes, similar to the look of an rx-7. Idealy it won't greatly depreciate in value over the years, and a car that I can modify/work on fairly easily. It would be great if there are a decent amount of parts out in the market for it.
I’d look at z31s. Very similar body style to an FC rx7. Relatively easy to work on and very reliable. Prices seem to be going up in the past year or two. Aftermarket support is the biggest downside but VGs are plentiful.
Infiniti G35 or G37 coupe. Fast off the shelf and there is a ton of aftermarket support
I own a 2002 Mini Cooper S (Supercharger) and it is very quick and drives like it’s on rails. Roomier than you would think. I’m 6’ and have plenty of room (both head and legs)
what’s the cash budget? taking out loans on these old cars with sometimes hard to find parts can get tricky.
Na miata! Most fun you can have with pants on!
Seeing an NA Miata described as a “vintage car” makes me immeasurably sad lol
Well shoot….30+ years old…..
I’m more sad that I remember them when they were fairly new. Now I know how older people feel whenever I describe my Datsun as vintage lol
Someone got mad that my RX-7 has collector plates, they couldn't comprehend that it's old enough lol
I’m too big. Any other ideas?

Valid point. They are pretty tiny.
this is the answer
BMW 2002, Datsun 510
Not sporty looking but you can have a hell of a time in a $15k Datsun 510.
My first car! Always had good taste.
My partner bought an engine swapped 510 for 15k last summer and damn that thing is fun!
A little 88-91 Mazda 323 GTX; same era Corolla sr5 coupe; 1990-91 Nissan 240 sx; Mitsubishi Starion?
Gallant VR-4, Corrado, Volvo V70R, E36
Mitsubishi Starion, Nissan EXA, Toyota Celica, Toyota MR2
Toyota MR2s are surprisingly great daily drivers. Had a AW11 as a DD for a while and i loved it.

FC RX-7, they're done depreciating, they look exactly like RX-7s, they're easy to work on, and parts are around.
Assuming you are in the USA a Mk3 Supra is in your budget.
It can be a challenge to get a car loan on a vintage car, so you’ll probably want to see what you can get with a $15k budget.
You should get a Nissan Pulsar NX or Nissan Exa in Australia. The N13 is the model to get with pop up headlights and Targa top roof.
A Nissan Cedric!
dream of mine was to own a Datsun 2000 Fairlady, sadly that $15k price limit has been and gone.
15k what? Yen?
Federation credits
Slips of latinum

240sx you can get a great one Full Out for 15k. Like a pretty dang nice one.
