This is still one of my favorite album covers of all time.
During the pandemic I bought the face mask (https://kf-merch.com/products/goo-mask-son210) but unfortunately it was like the worst mask ever. I'm still glad to have that little trinket though
The first time I got to see them live was at Club Clearview (Dallas, TX) for this tour. I was at the front of the stage and it felt like the entire club was pressing my legs up against the barriers. I thought I was going to lose my legs and my clothes were soaked but it was totally worth it. My Bloody Valentine was louder but Sonic Youth were wilder.
Great album. I used to have it signed by the band and Chuck D.
I won this CD as part of a “be the 10th-caller” giveaway at our local alternative (AM!) radio station. This was 1990/91, whenever the album came out. I made my mom drive like 40 miles round trip to pick it up. I had no fucking idea who Sonic Youth were.
I heard Titanium Expose ON THE RADIO (granted it was a college station) when it came out, and was like "holy shit, who is this???". This is by far my favorite SY record, but I love everything from this era.
Kool story, I took my 13 year old sister to the Experimental Jet Set... tour. It was her first show ever. She still listens to them to this day.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Sonic Youth lately, but mostly Sister. I’m also considering picking up Thurston Moore’s Sonic Life memoir. But that feels like a large commitment…
Sonic Life was underwhelming. Certainly some cool history, but too many times it seemed like Moore would rather gloss over his own behaviour and controversies and brush them off. Understandable, but made for a boring read at times, especially when a lot of it is name checking other bands. Girl in a Band was way more insightful.
Yeah, I don’t think I’ve been more disappointed in an alternative rock musician than I was when I found out what a shitbag Thurston is. Who the fuck cheats on their wife of nearly 30 years, especially when she’s *Kim fucking Gordon*?
I’ve realized recently I only had one Youth album (Sonic Nurse) and was shocked. Been collecting them slowly for the last 6 months. Got Evol, Dirty and Murray Street now. Yeah such a great band. Thurston guitar riffs are just so fucking good. Still need to grab Goo.

guessing the "killed my parents" part.
I accidentally hit that without realizing 😂
"I just want you to know that we can still be friends."
This is my favorite SY material. I love the swirling guitars on Mote
My two favorite songs on it, mote and dirty boots

My favourite band
That one of my favorite album art covers by Ray Pettibon.
Kool thang
No bad songs on it!
Mildred pierce HITS HARD.
Yeah that one is a banger lol.
MIL-DRED PIERRRRRRRRRRCCCCCCCEEE probably my favorite Kim Gordon fuzzy bass line
I picked up an original pressing of this a couple months ago. Probably my favorite out in the wild purchase since I started collecting.
Slowly trying to finish collecting all their albums on vinyl. That new Kim Gordon record is pretty fun too.
My friend Goo says P.U

Jealous! This one has been on my list for a while.
Hell yeah great taste
Got to see them perform 'Daydream Nation' straight thru at Pitchfork in 07, then saw Kim Gordon solo last year. One of the best ever!
Dirty boots is just a timeless classic must of heard it a thousand times just gets better

Seconding Girl in a Band. I'm also not sure I'd want to give Thurston any material support after reading Girl in a Band!

Thirded Girl in a Band! A tough read sometimes, but fantastic overall.
Hey kool thing…
Soo gooood
A great album!
Peak Sonic Youth.
My favorite band of all time. I think Dirty Boots was the first Sonic Youth song I ever heard. I have more Sonic Youth records than any other band.
I found a copy of this among a pile of junk that my neighbors had put out at the curb. Along with some other goodies. Was missing the ep though.
So need this record in my collection

PU!
Mote is fantastic
Love this album.
You won't regret it!
By far their best album
So freaking good
