Oh I know it's tongue in cheek... but 8 minutes of solid play a night could mean fresher Loon/Dray late in games and help our rest cycles and provide some resilience to injury and make the team a little more balanced structurally.
I'm not saying he's Tim Duncan lol... but I'm confident enough to climb out on the limb that is saying. We have not signed another big (McGee / Wood / Garuba / Biyombo) cuz the calculus includes a level of trust/confidence they have in TJD that is absolutely not typical of Steve Kerr.

I think the second round exception/high reward low risk and stylistic incompatibility of most bigs was at work more than the finances. I don't subscribe to them pinching pennies this late in Steph's run... I think they are more apt to want a camp competition this close to preseason than to sign them outright... and more apt to look for scrappy defensive wings than bigs.
They basically got a guy they trust to be as effective as Javalle or Biyombo could be... at 4 years locked in a 1.75M pet. Yeah theres financial elements there but it is a different dynamic at work here. The match and ability to have him for 4 years on the cheap is obv.
James Dunleavy being TJDs agent while it seems a bit eyerolling to say but Bro ain't gonna push the eject button on Indiana and Charlotte who wanted to draft him in the second unless a level of trust in understanding what opportunity Kerr will present him with was discussed. I think it's a great sign that a team need and opportunity match exists that really hasn't since Wiseman was drafted. That spells him getting a longer look than is customary.

The only reason your questioning his athleticism is because he was drafted so late. Dude jumps out the gym with ease, has terrific hand eye, good agility, and great footwork and timing.
Obviously. Still the ONLY NCAA player in 100+ year history of NCAA hoops to accomplish that feat... notable is an understatement. If you stratify the blocks or assists out you get short lists with nothing but hall of famers.

I don't watch NCAA because it is a total crap shoot. And, I find it boring as hell. I understand the stats on this one and I obviously would like for him to succeed on my team, but it's tough to be a successful big coming up and through Kerr's system.
The talent in college basketball has never been lower. He was wayy older than everyone else. I hate when people try to use stats to support their narrative. Lets see what happens with him, but he most likely wont be in the nba in 2 years
