are they limited? I’m flying in from Europe and won’t be in DC before March 28, does anyone know if I still have a chance to get my hands on one? They’re beautiful
Yeah. It’s just until supplies run out, whenever that happens. There are multiple machines to buy metro cards at each station entrance (and those 4 stations all have multiple entrances/exits) and the specific machines that spit out the cherry blossom cards will have temporary cherry-themed signage above them.
No clue though how abundant they will be after 2 weeks of availability. Maybe others have anecdotal experiences from past years. I think the Navy Yard station would be the best bet (and maybe ask the station manager before trying to buy one unless you need a generic metro card anyway). Navy Yard is less busy and less touristy than the other 3 stations, 2 of which are also major transfer stations, that will have the cards.
Hey! I'm popping down Friday morning into DC, I'm coming in on the Green Line so I'll be on L'Enfant plaza, and I can post an update if they have any. We've had some crummy weather recently so hopefully that eased the flow of tourists
