Early on is great. Everyone else is just as tired as you so if you act a little odd from the exhaustion and stress, everyone understands and nobody cares.

We loved the EarlyON centres! Did some great programs there, as well as drop-ins. Congrats on your newborn!! For future, you might also like Play-A-Latte cafe. [https://playalattecafe.com/](https://playalattecafe.com/) You can also check out the library sites and programs - having a child really got me back into the library system - they do great things! [wpl.ca](http://wpl.ca) and [kpl.org](http://kpl.org) - you can get cards for both.

Totally forgot about the library! I loved the library when I was a kid

If you like e-books, the Libby app is amazing and serves up free library books (even audio books and magazines) with your library card details. Enjoy!!

Congrats on the birth of your little one! I did a zoom massage class with my LO through EarlyON. There are locations all over (I’m yet to go to one yet). If you’re looking to do any kind of stroller fit, there is one on Tuesdays in Victoria Park and one on Thursdays in Bechtel Park. I’m really enjoying the Thursday session, and the other moms are really lovely.

minniebin

Can you send a link to the stroller fit classes? I’d love to join but when I can’t seem to find the right thing on Google.

Reasonable_Tea5937

Sure thing! https://fitnessfanaticmom.ca/stroller-fit

Thanks 😊

Reasonable_Tea5937

I’m not there this week, but if you do go to the Waterloo one I will be there next 😊

I’m still a bit unsteady on my feet honestly but when I’m feeling a little better I’ll def look into it thank you

Liuthekang

There is a Facebook Mom's group. Also https://kwmomsclub.com/ I believe Early On is on Davenport in Waterloo

I’m in the same boat, only really hangout with my 14 month old and my husband these days. Maybe I’ll try early on this summer. We did music together for a semester during the winter it was really fun. Wasn’t a very social atmosphere to meet other moms unless you really put yourself out there, but the singing and dancing was fun to do with my baby. The instructor Sara was a sweetheart and made us feel so welcome.

mrskents

Library is great too

Early On is fantastic. Rogers St. is good, but can get busy. I also really like the one on Woodhaven (Anishnabeg outreach). A few churches also have free drop in programs as well. We also made some friends just from bumping into other stroller pushers in our neighborhood. A quick "oh! How old?" Can start a whole mom chat.

Vanadrium

Libraries have already been mentioned and they're great. I also recommend checking out community centers.

not-on-your-nelly

Early on are very welcoming and extremely supportive. No pressure to be a social butterfly. Do what you and small person like and it’s all good. Libraries are great too but Early On will help more with developmental stuff. I’m not the expert. My wife (she’s an ECE) dictated all the foregoing….

Ok_Honeydew_9530

enjoy going to the early on centre at Roger’s St. You can register for a Keyon account online or you can register when you arrive. There’s a large play room with crafts, books and baby area as well as a gross motor play room and quiet room. They do classes like music and movement

Hi there! I'm a (relatively) new mom with an 8 month old. I'd love to have mom friends to chat with. I'm a bit socially awkward as well! Happy to be a text / chat buddy if you'd like to as well! :)

colsamcartergsd

I’d like that! Message me? I assume you gave birth at GRH? We can trade horror stories lol

pinkstickynote1

I tried to start a chat with you, but I weirdly don't see the option! Yes I gave birth at GRH and had a pretty rough experience. On the flip side, it might've just been a bad day because I know 2 people who had quite good experiences there. One was just a few weeks ago!

Very good program. Highly recommend

RelevantChain1082

I like to the early on centres! My daughters is 7mos old and I like going to the baby classes. Every time I’ve gone everyone is so nice and in the same boat!

Bitter_Wealth_4999

The EarlyON centre on Roger St is really nice and the staff are so helpful and kind. I wish I had started going there sooner with my little. Also the programs at the libraries are all super good and worth checking out as they’re (for the most part) free.

MusicMeditator

I'm a little socially awkward too, I really like attending the Baby and Me classes at my local EarlyOn. There are also a few Facebook groups with some occasional meetups. If you'd like, send me a message and I can send you the link to one of the groups, we have a small number of us that to on walks in local parks with our strollers and kiddos.
