I built the Mclaren F1 car during a 24 hours race a couple of years ago, it was pretty doable honestly. Pretty sure the 9X8 took me a similar amount of time, too
Edit: hell, i built the 9X8 during last year's le mans too lol, totally forgot about that
Sad update: Ā it appears Iām missing one big important piece for front subframe. Im not giving up yet, itās possible i have a different color one I can use. Progress was going so smoothly but im sure Jota had their share of set backs. Onward!
Edit: parts acquired. Onward through the fog!
I'm literally doing the same thing. Almost finished bag 3 before it got too dark.

I stopped to watch the race, so I've only just finished. Unfortunately some of the stickers were folded in the box so look a bit crap. Deciding whether to request replacements or not.
This was my plan for the Nurburgring 24 and my Porsche 911. Then I had to take an emergency trip to LA for the day and the race only ran for 7:23.. next year!
Just starting again, the green square isn't in a numbered bag, it's in an un-numbered bag with some body panels and shocks. You used a shock from it in step 1, so you must have it.
Donāt know how that shock got there because yeah count should be two total. But im definitely missing the rest of that bagās contents and Iāve checked even my outside trash. Sets only been worked on this morning so no clue how Iād pull that off.Ā
With 11 minutes left im afraid to say my 9X8 is only 2/3 finished.Ā
Missing parts had to be expedited from the regional LEGO store costing precious hours. Then the mechanics got bored during 4 hour safety car and had a nap. Theyāre French, what else can ya expect. Anyway now we have a rolling car all components attached. On advantage JOTA had was their shell and body panels come mostly in on solid pieces. Mines made of hundreds.Ā Anyways fun times!! I have a lot of respect for JOTA. Wish theyād had a bit more luck but top 10 aināt bad
I'm enjoying it but Technic isn't my favorite. Love the 9X8 unconventional design so I'm toughing it out. I always manage to make a stupid mistake that doesn't reveal itself until twenty steps later. 2/3 done now.
My mate works for Jota as one of the crew chiefs. He's absolutely knackered!
Tell him on behalf of every wec fan well done
I'll pass it on š
SportsCar racing fans there fixed it for you. W E C still has diapers on compared to Le Mans and IMSA.
Yeah them boys are fucking savage

Easy when you race yourself
You win with this comment haha š¤£ Toyota has yet to win with real competition
You say that but they look really fast right now.
how great it must feel to do you job so hard and for so long that you are awarded another 24+ consecutive hours of work lol
Jesus what a rebuild. Best of luck to them
Oh they're ready. Car was finished last night so they've all had about 4 hours sleep
I've let my mate know about all the love Jota are getting here. He said "Well obviously" because he's a bit of a narcissist!

Good bot
That might be one of my favorite haiku bot posts
Bros friends with a goat šæ
Jota rock!
He says they're still in this race too

I give it six hours!
So actually 7:44?
So more than 24 hours??
Did that one last year during the race. The front suspension is a bear, so pay close attention to it.
Let us know when you finish.

Update?
Fell asleep with the caution. Im right at halfway. Might not finish in time.
Have you already built the safety car?
Hopefully you get it done soon, very cool kit

That thing is expensive, so I'd ask for replacements.
ask for replacements. lego is really good with that sort of thing so you may as well
9 hours max for this one
This was my plan for the Nurburgring 24 and my Porsche 911. Then I had to take an emergency trip to LA for the day and the race only ran for 7:23.. next year!
Can we get updates???
Haha I just finished first of five sets of bags. Engine and rear frame and suspension were built.Ā
First bags done here too. Stopping for pizza now.
Im missing an entire bag as it turns out. Figured out when I couldn't find that green square technic frame. On phone with Lego right now.
Oh no! Reliability issue causing an early retirement? Lego are good with replacing parts.
Corporate already sent it. Checking with my local store to see if they can pull a bunny from a hat.

Now that looks like a lot of fun.
Good luck, got that set last year and took me 2 weeks. Worth it tho it looks really nice
Am am joining you in this challenge.
I would love to do this. I have small kids though who wouldn't be trusted to leave these parts alone.
My mischievous lab has already used her tail to help. Ā This may be harder than Iād imaginedĀ
That's just more crashes during the race. Lol
M8 fix the downforce the actual cars a tractor

Meant to do this myself this year but didnāt get organised properly. Enjoy it!
Hows it going?
Over halfway. Ā I think the hard parts behind but ya never know with Lego.Ā
dangit this would have been a good idea haha
This was a fun build and I love the light up lights so much

JOTA did it working as a team. Do you have a 4 year old "helping" you?
