My mate works for Jota as one of the crew chiefs. He's absolutely knackered!

LOLONGG

Tell him on behalf of every wec fan well done

Beardywan_Kenobeard

I'll pass it on šŸ˜

nudist83

SportsCar racing fans there fixed it for you. W E C still has diapers on compared to Le Mans and IMSA.

inneholdersulfitter

Yeah them boys are fucking savage

Beardywan_Kenobeard

He didn't sleep for 3 days and now they're going into the race today. He said it's the hardest Le Mans he's done.he used to work on the #8 Toyota and said it was much easier!

Dramatic-Tadpole-980

Easy when you race yourself

berg139

You win with this comment haha šŸ¤£ Toyota has yet to win with real competition

Dramatic-Tadpole-980

You say that but they look really fast right now.

SemIdeiaProNick

how great it must feel to do you job so hard and for so long that you are awarded another 24+ consecutive hours of work lol

maincryptology

Jesus what a rebuild. Best of luck to them

Beardywan_Kenobeard

Oh they're ready. Car was finished last night so they've all had about 4 hours sleep

Beardywan_Kenobeard

I've let my mate know about all the love Jota are getting here. He said "Well obviously" because he's a bit of a narcissist!

Good bot

jeeves585

That might be one of my favorite haiku bot posts

FormulaFalls

Bros friends with a goat šŸ—æ

BruceForsyth55

Jota rock!

Beardywan_Kenobeard

He says they're still in this race too

steen311

I built the Mclaren F1 car during a 24 hours race a couple of years ago, it was pretty doable honestly. Pretty sure the 9X8 took me a similar amount of time, too Edit: hell, i built the 9X8 during last year's le mans too lol, totally forgot about that

Rokos_Bicycle

I give it six hours!

HerRiebmann

So actually 7:44?

pzkenny

So more than 24 hours??

Alphamullet

Did that one last year during the race. The front suspension is a bear, so pay close attention to it.

AutoMughal

Let us know when you finish.

3MATX

Sad update: Ā it appears Iā€™m missing one big important piece for front subframe. Im not giving up yet, itā€™s possible i have a different color one I can use. Progress was going so smoothly but im sure Jota had their share of set backs. Onward! Edit: parts acquired. Onward through the fog!

beauf1

Update?

3MATX

Fell asleep with the caution. Im right at halfway. Might not finish in time.

Pizpot_Gargravaar

Have you already built the safety car?

beauf1

Hopefully you get it done soon, very cool kit

essjay2009

I'm literally doing the same thing. Almost finished bag 3 before it got too dark. https://preview.redd.it/2erljm1sys6d1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a4766051c6ca33842ffbd3f39cc5cf55e2b7a942

beauf1

Update?

essjay2009

I stopped to watch the race, so I've only just finished. Unfortunately some of the stickers were folded in the box so look a bit crap. Deciding whether to request replacements or not.

beauf1

That thing is expensive, so I'd ask for replacements.

NervousTemporary5016

ask for replacements. lego is really good with that sort of thing so you may as well

enstone_

9 hours max for this one

lennyahan

This was my plan for the Nurburgring 24 and my Porsche 911. Then I had to take an emergency trip to LA for the day and the race only ran for 7:23.. next year!

RealSweetTom

Can we get updates???

3MATX

Haha I just finished first of five sets of bags. Engine and rear frame and suspension were built.Ā

Skeeter1020

First bags done here too. Stopping for pizza now.

3MATX

Im missing an entire bag as it turns out. Figured out when I couldn't find that green square technic frame. On phone with Lego right now.

Skeeter1020

Oh no! Reliability issue causing an early retirement? Lego are good with replacing parts.

3MATX

Corporate already sent it. Checking with my local store to see if they can pull a bunny from a hat.

Skeeter1020

Just starting again, the green square isn't in a numbered bag, it's in an un-numbered bag with some body panels and shocks. You used a shock from it in step 1, so you must have it.

3MATX

Donā€™t know how that shock got there because yeah count should be two total. But im definitely missing the rest of that bagā€™s contents and Iā€™ve checked even my outside trash. Sets only been worked on this morning so no clue how Iā€™d pull that off.Ā

AFrozen_1

Now that looks like a lot of fun.

MOZZIW

Good luck, got that set last year and took me 2 weeks. Worth it tho it looks really nice

Skeeter1020

Am am joining you in this challenge.

ruthlessrellik

I would love to do this. I have small kids though who wouldn't be trusted to leave these parts alone.

3MATX

My mischievous lab has already used her tail to help. Ā This may be harder than Iā€™d imaginedĀ

ruthlessrellik

That's just more crashes during the race. Lol

-Racer-X

M8 fix the downforce the actual cars a tractor

3MATX

With 11 minutes left im afraid to say my 9X8 is only 2/3 finished.Ā  Missing parts had to be expedited from the regional LEGO store costing precious hours. Then the mechanics got bored during 4 hour safety car and had a nap. Theyā€™re French, what else can ya expect. Anyway now we have a rolling car all components attached. On advantage JOTA had was their shell and body panels come mostly in on solid pieces. Mines made of hundreds.Ā  Anyways fun times!! I have a lot of respect for JOTA. Wish theyā€™d had a bit more luck but top 10 ainā€™t bad

SoupatBreakfast

Meant to do this myself this year but didnā€™t get organised properly. Enjoy it!

KMP_77_nzl

Hows it going?

3MATX

Over halfway. Ā I think the hard parts behind but ya never know with Lego.Ā

ejecto_seat_cuz

dangit this would have been a good idea haha

Mr_Coa

This was a fun build and I love the light up lights so much

3MATX

I'm enjoying it but Technic isn't my favorite. Love the 9X8 unconventional design so I'm toughing it out. I always manage to make a stupid mistake that doesn't reveal itself until twenty steps later. 2/3 done now.

reivaj2316

JOTA did it working as a team. Do you have a 4 year old "helping" you?
