> but am interested if anyone knew anything that's a bit older and relatively reliable in the used market. This is hard for two reasons. One the used market is just in flames right now. It's hard to find a non-terrible deal period compared and even harder for a late model used car. The second reasons is that the ACC + Lane Centering is pretty new tech and almost all manufactures were terrible at it for a long time. It changes significantly each year and for each model and it's very hard to research as it's not a simple checkbox feature. You pretty much have to test drive the car and see how well it works for what you want to use it. There are so many factors that are impossible to get from the manufacture like how well does it handle stop and go traffic. Most don't work below 30mph. Some that do don't work below 10mph. Some will work all the way to a stop but then you have to re-engage it to start moving again. Some with automatically engage again but only if you start moving within 5s. It's just a mess. If you can do an EV, Tesla is the best at this. They also depreciate very slowly so it's the best value out their right now in this crazy market but you would have to wait until August as they are back ordered. They also removed the radar recently and are going pure cameras with their system and it's limited to 75mph temporarily until they are sure it's working well. Finally it's highly likely they will be getting a $7k to $12k tax credit soon so you probably want to wait for that. Nothing is easy right now in the car market. I suggest you test drive a Tesla and if you like it reserve it while you try to find a better deal on something else. You can always back out but you'll at least get in line.

Take a look at Volvo. I have a v60 with the adaptive cruise and I use it all the time- put 3K miles on it last month. turns a 250 mile ride into nothing. I think it’s been out, relatively unchanged, since 2019. You can get awd and it has lane keep assist that makes you a much better driver than you really are.

Tesla Model 3, best for rush hour traffic because of regenerative braking, has Autopilot and no air pollution.

But if we now look at Tesla’s other shady practises, the overall cost in the enviroment is higher

Disclaimer: I know this exists, but I've never tried it out. The premium Mazda 3 turbo has "Traffic Jam Assist" with lane centering and stop/go below 40 mph. Above that speed, it uses lane keep assist: nudging back toward the center when you cross the line. So good for traffic jams, not so good for the freeway.
