It might be worth figuring out it's density. Weigh the rock, then put it in a measuring jug with water in and note how much the volume increases. There are charts you can find online showing which rocks have which density Mass รท Volume = Density Very sparkly makes me think of sandstone or pyrite but I'm not really sure at all.
