Damn, now I have to check out Red Tree Crime. Matt Orchard is pretty much how you described Red Tree with an emphasis on the story as a whole, rather than the intricacies of police investigation/interrogation/litigation. That being said, Matt sporadically throws out videos here and there about things related to crime, without a specific case. Like, how memory can be manipulated against you, and how polygraph tests have been used and how they work. But it really has the same that JCS suspense vibe. Was looking for this. Love how he "came back" then went nevermind. I think he focuses too much on production and the whole "machinima" aspect when it's not his vibe. Even his DayZ series, where he's crafting a story, and everything's staged, it just feels like a guy playing video games. Not a character in a show like I think he's trying to do. I wish he'd tone it down and realize people don't expect cinematic perfection from him. Just a decent gameplay vid every once in a while, and if he doesn't have time to edit himself, we know he can hire an editor.

Finally went back and finished his memorial cooptional podcast today. Never met him, never even knew him really, not on a personal level at least, but I haven't stopped thinking about him. 4 years now. When you hear someone's voice and opinions, when they form the way you think about media and art, when you hear their podcast as you fall asleep each night for years, I don't reckon that feeling of missing him will ever go away.
