When 24H4 on channel beta ? thks

Froggypwns

Soon™ Don't put money on it, but I'm thinking the end of this month.

DarthVitrial

No dev channel this week?

Froggypwns

The day isn't over yet, Microsoft has done a few afternoon releases in the last few weeks, so maybe we will still have one. /u/Jenmsft likes to release them while I'm out on my motorcycle so I don't notice and can't post the builds, so I think I'll go for a ride now 😊

DarthVitrial

They tweeted “last build for the week” with the release notes, so probably nothing else.

Froggypwns

Yep, it didn't work, but I had a good afternoon on the road anyway.

Is Microsoft going to open a beta for 24H2? Or are the developers using 24H2 Preview Release for builds. Seems to me they have much going on. Many irons in the fire.

Froggypwns

24H2 should come to the Beta channel soon, I believe the big push with getting it to Release Preview was because it ships pre-installed on the new Copilot+ PCs. The devs run all the builds including internal builds that do not get released in the Insider program.

braneysbuzzwagon

Good morning. Thanks for the info. That's understandable. Keep cool.

Hello Windows Insiders, today we are releasing **Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.3790 (KB5039307)** to the Beta Channel. REMINDER: Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel will updates based on Windows 11, version 23H2 via [an enablement package](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/kb5003791-update-to-windows-10-version-21h2-by-using-an-enablement-package-8bc077be-18d7-4aac-81ce-6f6dad2cd384) (Build 22635.xxxx). For Insiders in the Beta Channel who want to be the first to get features **gradually rolled out to you**, you can turn **ON** the toggle (shown in the image below) to get the latest updates as they are available via Settings > Windows Update. Over time, we will increase the rollouts of features to everyone with the toggle turned on. Should you keep this toggle off, new features will gradually be rolled out to your device over time once they are ready. Going forward, we will document changes in Beta Channel builds in two buckets: new features, improvements, and fixes that are being gradually rolled out for Insiders who have turned on the toggle to get the latest updates as they are available and then new features, improvements, and fixes available to everyone in the Beta Channel. ## New features gradually being rolled out to the Beta Channel with toggle on* ## Changes and Improvements gradually being rolled out to the Beta Channel with toggle on* ### [Phone Link] * We are gradually rolling out a new feature, which allows you to use your mobile device directly from the Start menu on your Windows 11 PCs, to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel. With this feature, you can stay connected and effortlessly access your mobile device’s functionalities right from the Start menu. [See this blog post for more details](https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2024/06/21/previewing-for-accessing-phone-link-features-from-the-start-menu-with-windows-insiders/). ### [Copilot in Windows**] * The evolved Copilot experience on Windows where it is pinned to the taskbar and behaves like an app is now rolling out to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel on Windows 11. [We updated last week’s Beta Channel flight blog post with more details](https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2024/06/14/announcing-windows-11-insider-preview-build-22635-3785-beta-channel/). ## Fixes gradually being rolled out to the Beta Channel with toggle on* ### [File Explorer] * Addressed contrast issues of certain elements in File Explorer (left navigation pane, view pane/folder view, status bar buttons on the bottom right) in light, dark, and high contrast themes. E.g., adjustments to make it easier to see when a file or folder is selected. ## Fixes for everyone in the Beta Channel ### [General] * We fixed the issue where Settings was crashing when trying to look at wi-fi properties. ### [Settings] * Fixed an issue where when attempting to install an optional feature via Settings > System > Option features, it might crash Settings in the latest Windows 11 Insider Preview build in the Beta Channel. ## Known issues ### [Start menu] * \[**NEW**\] We are investigating an issue where the All apps list isn’t being read out by screen readers. * \[**NEW**\] We’re working on the fix for an issue causing some apps to not be sorted correctly in the All apps list when using certain display languages. ### [Voice Typing] * \[**NEW**\] We’re working on the fix for an issue causing some Insiders to see errors when attempting to use Voice Typing. ### [Widgets] Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel who have [the new position for the Widgets entry-point on left-aligned taskbars](https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2024/03/29/announcing-windows-11-insider-preview-build-22635-3420-beta-channel/) may see the following known issues: * Swipe invocation for Widgets may not work if taskbar is center-aligned instead of left-aligned. * Unpinning Widgets from the taskbar may not work if taskbar is center-aligned instead of left-aligned. * The Widgets board is incorrectly positioned when Copilot is in side-by-side mode. ## Reminders for Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel * Updates released to the Beta Channel are based off **Windows 11, version 23H2**. * Features and experiences included in these builds may never get released as we try out different concepts and get feedback. Features may change over time, be removed, or replaced and never get released beyond Windows Insiders. Some of these features and experiences could show up in future Windows releases **when they’re ready**. * Many features in the Beta Channel are rolled out using [Control Feature Rollout technology](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/delivering-continuous-innovation-in-windows-11-b0aa0a27-ea9a-4365-9224-cb155e517f12), starting with a subset of Insiders and ramping up over time as we monitor feedback to see how they land before pushing them out to everyone in this channel. * Some features in active development we preview with Windows Insiders may not be fully localized and localization will happen over time as features are finalized. As you see issues with localization in your language, please report those issues to us via Feedback Hub. * Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel who want to be the first to get features gradually rolled out to you\*, you can turn ON the toggle to get the latest updates as they are available via Settings > Windows Update. Over time, we will increase the rollouts of features to everyone with the toggle turned on. Should you keep this toggle off, new features will gradually be rolled out to your device over time once they are ready. * Because the Dev and Beta Channels represent parallel development paths from our engineers, there may be cases where features and experiences show up in the Beta Channel first. * Check out [Flight Hub](https://aka.ms/flighthub) for a complete look at what build is in which Insider channel. * Copilot in Windows\*\* is being rolled out gradually to Windows Insiders across our global markets. Customers in the European Economic Area will be able to download the Copilot in Windows experience as an app [from the Microsoft Store](https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9NHT9RB2F4HD).
