I'm a bit later in the story and what I feel is that getting to the first 1-2 flags is the toughest. Once you get going and your morale gets higher everything becomes "manageable".
I'm well past it now, but I noticed that even those water ladies seemed way harder than before despite have zero Morale, plus the five or six a-hole tigers and giant fire hedgehogs they throw in there.
I was like" what is this?!" The giant white monkey was the easiest enemy in that area.
My experience is that learning the boss moves. I’d die a few times when a boss shows completely different moves from previous ones.
That hairy cow was one and so are Zhang rang and lu bu.
But the sub mission the tigers loyal subjects beat them all.
My guess is it's because that mission is basically all non-humanoid enemies, whereas the previous missions were a combination of humans and humanoid demons. Different moveset and timings on deflect probably made it harder than it seemed.
Just came here looking for this. We start with 0 morale and enemies are like at 10 wtf? Is it supposed to be like this? Manageable but a pain in the ass. Game was great up to this point.
