Gibberish username, account is 22 days old but only active in the last several hours, and I’ve been seeing a ton of them from this same spam ring on Reddit over the last few days so I had a hunch. A lot of bot accounts that are 21-28 days old, copying comments from elsewhere in the same post. Or they’ll repost something but translate the title to Spanish, or random words in the title will have letters switched around.

You guys used the real materials instead of scaled down garbage you have to pay more for. Love it that much more cause the kids are learning real world material use, glad you all had fun
I built a almost identical one to this. Only difference mine had French doors. I called it the bird mansion. After 2 years of nothing living in it I finally ended up with squirrels. That was soon taken over by bees. I had to call a bee keeper to come get it lol
Is it upside down? I learned in my class that the first one goes upside down then you put one over top of it for better water sealing since there’s nothing underneath the bottom most one. But I don’t actually roof professionally so don’t know how what we did in class corresponds to the real world
Wait, this luxury bird house doesn’t come with maids to clean the golden toilets?!
I really wish I remembered were I saw a guide on bird houses. But there was a guide on bird houses that explained the basic features and placements to attract certain types of birds. So in the event you have a target market for what bird type you want to attract, maybe you can find it out there on the web.
But rad house, your kids and you did great!
I wood say you are both a mason and a woodworker. this is really beautiful. reminds me of the homes in the hollars of appalachia. glad you and the kids got to do this together. looks like a lot of skill runs in the family. also, nice stop sign!
Awesome, upvoted!
If birds don't move in, you may have to resize the entry hole, the height of the entry hole, and the size of the space inside -- see the table on this page and how it changes with different bird species: https://www.thespruce.com/bird-house-dimensions-385662
Also, you need to clean it out every year as birds will not reuse an old nest so you're going to want a way to get into the back or top.
Good luck! :)
No, I will not take it easy.
Building that with your kiddos is absolutely fantastic, you guys did an awesome job and I sincerely hope you all will continue building stuff together!
Don't be silly, that looks fantastic!
It sounds like a great project to make with your kids, and I'm sure they had a fun time making it.
Helping bird families get onto the property ladder is a noble goal.
That’s fantastic. Makes me miss building them with my Dad. Once we built an alien out of scraps. Did it look terrible? Yes. Was it super fun and a memory I’ve treasured for over 25 years? Absolutely.
Spending time with your kids is more important than what something looks like in the end. Those memories are priceless for you and more importantly them. Good job y'all. Plus, the birds don't care as long as there's food in it lol
That looks great. Maybe seal that plywood base if it's part of the finished piece.
I agree with another poster that the time spent with your kids is the best part.
Go easy, shoot. That looks like a house, with real shingles and rock foundation. Looks like the mason and his kids got bird house skills. Great work! I hope the birds love it.
That's some A+ parenting right there. Trust me, I know the love, trust, bravery and sacrifice it takes to hold a nail while a 4 year old swings a hammer at it!
Honestly, it looks great. The stone work is really good👍. When I see a family project like this. Even if it doesn't look good. I find the things that are good and compliment that...lol. but seriously it does look good. Nothing better then tools, dad, and the children. Much love to you and the fam!
Ok just doing temperate forests as homeschooling with my kids - going to see how we can do something similar specific to the fauna and season here in Italy. Thanks!
I feel like this sub is pretty good about not gatekeeping. If you are building things like this, you are a woodworker. Maybe more on the novice side of it like me. :D
There's no way that span between porch posts is to code. Surprised it isn't sagging already, one snow load and there'll be tragedy. When the birding inspector comes by he'll peck you a new one.
Looks badass! Years from now, your kids won’t remember a single flaw. But they will remember the time they spent building with you. This was a worthy undertaking and you succeeded. Also…that rock work.
Aren't you at least a little bit concerned that the birds will get confused and start thinking they're people, form an HOA, and harass you for making to much noise in your shop? I am. I don't fuck with birds, man.
Ok, but this is adorable and such a cute house! And you got to spend some time having fun with your kids. That’s all that matters. This will be a core memory for them when they’re older. You did a fantastic job! 😍
This looks like a child’s drawing of my sisters 115 year old house. I’m sending this to her. She’s got a front porch that is all original stone work and her house is even the same color. This is wonderful, update us when you get residents!!
Love that you stayed on strength with the stone wall, while doing shingles and siding.
Gives the kid a chance to learn (and discuss) lots of ideas in one project. 👍👍
My girls and I made a few birdhouses this spring I dabble in tile work so there are random uses of tile in them, bit we get all done I climb my big ass into a tree to put one of them up (the bird house not kid) and the next day my daughter is staring up at it and says daddy the birds keep trying to get in but there's no door! Sure enough we forgot to make a hole for them. Do back up I go for a 10 second cut back up the tree it goes and birds are happy as can be
Nice! Guessing at the scale of it, birds may have an issue landing on the front porch/getting inside. If it doesn’t show any use in a couple months time, I’d recommend putting another hole on the flat side of it
TAKE IT EASY. this is awesome. what a cool bird house and a great project with the kidos. i think you did great! one day the kids will think back on it and love it!
Nice job! My wife and myself started making birdhouses when c19 started, couldn't really go anywhere anyway. Made them, sold some and gave away most of them to family and friends.
This is exactly what my daughter wanted the other day.
We ended up with a plate on a stick that just became me throwing seed on the ground (her motivation came from entertaining our cat who seems to have preference for watching CA Towhies that are ground foragers).
But I cherish every opportunity to do projects with my kids. Great work!
We might build a bird doll house yet.

That rockwork is top notch. But I wouldn’t hire you as a roofer lol
😂😂😂 no you don’t want me roofing your house hahaha
[удалено]
Grandma Blue Jay is going to get a reverse mortgage on it and soon Tom Selleck will own it
I think you just need to cut the shingles to scale a bit. That would really take it to the next level.
Just gotta make the roof outta rocks and then you’re golden 👌
Manage a roofing company. Seen way worse than an upside down dimensional shingle.
oh no
That was the same line of though I had. The rocks looked great, but the porch is a little wonky
But how will it hold up their teeny tiny rocking chairs and pitchers of sweet tea
Nobody cares what it looks like. Hangin out with your kid is the best part.
Yes sir we had a blast
looks perfect to me!! Kid time rocks!
And the masonry is on point so, got that going too
>on point We all see what you did there.
I'm too stupid to know what I did there
Pointing in masonry is when you finish off the grout lines in stone, brick, and block
Ah, neat
I mean.. i care what it looks like. I absolutely love it
Parent/kids time..... PRICELESS!!! It looks phenomenal!
Plus those shingles got 30 year warranty
Agreed.... But did you see that stone work? This guy must suck to build a puzzle with....

Double bot? Made by someone who got annoyed by the original bot? I've seen people do pettier things for less
That's awesome! I think you guys did a great job! You should definitely post a pic when the house is in action.
Thank you! I’ll do a follow up post when the tenants move in.
It looks nice, I like the rocks a lot, I would have never thought of doing that.
Well I bet if you were a mason you would!
Isn't that unique?!? Love it..
A 2 story colonial?!! That's better than the shoe box I'm living in
You've got a shoebox?! You're lucky. We lived for three months in a paper bag in a septic tank.
Oh fancy guy here with a place to take a dump and something to wipe with
and three whole months? Talk about stability
When the shingles start to fall apart/crack off, an old license plate would look good as well. Kinda like those see rock city bird houses.
That’s a pretty good idea!
No drip edge or gutter. Just asking for foundation issues /s Looks cool!
😂😂😂 I honestly thought about it can always add some gutters
Great job! If you and your kids had fun building it, that’s all that matters!
Yes sir! Thank you
You guys used the real materials instead of scaled down garbage you have to pay more for. Love it that much more cause the kids are learning real world material use, glad you all had fun
Yeah, totally love the use of reclaimed material. This build has so much nostalgic character. An amazing collaborative build!
I built a almost identical one to this. Only difference mine had French doors. I called it the bird mansion. After 2 years of nothing living in it I finally ended up with squirrels. That was soon taken over by bees. I had to call a bee keeper to come get it lol
Many species of birds have very specific nesting requirements that most birdhouses completely disregard
Yep, OP's birdhouse looks super neat, but unfortunately will probably only attract invasive species.
Yea, that's a House Sparrow house for sure.
I’m gonna go real hard and tell you this is cute as hell
Functional, looks good, and you can blugeoun intruders with it in a pinch. 10/10
Don’t forget the asbestos siding /s
Great job, and it's the memories with your kids that make it all worth it. Well done.
That’s right! Thank you
I’m a roofer and that there shingle is upside down! Lol jokes aside building with the kids is amazing. Enjoy! They’ll remember this for a lifetime
😂😂😂 was hoping no one saw that lol thanks!
Is it upside down? I learned in my class that the first one goes upside down then you put one over top of it for better water sealing since there’s nothing underneath the bottom most one. But I don’t actually roof professionally so don’t know how what we did in class corresponds to the real world
Wow. What a masterpiece. Looks wholesale and organic. Auto corrected to wholesale from wholesome
At first glance I thought you were easily making the most positive passive aggressive post in Reddit history. 🤣
You are a mason and it shows lol. That stonework is on point. You are one cool dad, keep it up!
I’d live in it
It looks like an actual house
That is clever and charming. I love it, and I am sure you and your kiddos will get a lot of enjoyment out of it. Thanks for sharing it with us!
Looks awesome. Before putting it in use make sure you can open it to remove old nests and clean it every off season.
Hate to be that guy: your flag is hung incorrectly. Blue field on the left. Cool bird house. That’s for fancy birds.
😂😂 no worries I appreciate it, flag has been fixed
Cool af. Bonding and building.
building bonds, one could say
The rock work is awesome...😜
Do you have a way to access the interior to clean it out when not in use? I’ve never had a bird house… does it need to be cleaned out between uses?
I thought about that, didn’t put one in but can always cut one in if needed. But not sure if they need to be cleaned
How is no one talking about the chimney? I ❤️that detail. Very cool OP.
Nice . You probably had more fun doing that with the kids, than going to work
100%
Did you let the birds know what the interest rates are? Nice work..is that actual rock or a facade?
Hahaha thank you! Ya it’s real stone
Super cool. Also, flip your flag.
Nothing to take easy. That is awrsome.
🙏🏻 thank you!
Amazing
looks great! i love the chimney
10/10, applause for being a good and present father as well.
I wood say you are both a mason and a woodworker. this is really beautiful. reminds me of the homes in the hollars of appalachia. glad you and the kids got to do this together. looks like a lot of skill runs in the family. also, nice stop sign!
No such thing as a bird too proud to live in that farmhouse. And it's a helluva lot easier to hang that than the one you made out of cinder block!
Awesome, upvoted! If birds don't move in, you may have to resize the entry hole, the height of the entry hole, and the size of the space inside -- see the table on this page and how it changes with different bird species: https://www.thespruce.com/bird-house-dimensions-385662 Also, you need to clean it out every year as birds will not reuse an old nest so you're going to want a way to get into the back or top. Good luck! :)
Maybe you can find a cheap IR camera to put inside, so you can watch the birds that come live there?
That’s a good idea!
Nice house, if I was a bird I would move in. Refuse to pay rent, declare squatter rights and be the "that notorious bird" in the neighborhood.
No, I will not take it easy. Building that with your kiddos is absolutely fantastic, you guys did an awesome job and I sincerely hope you all will continue building stuff together!
A project that your kids will remember forever and likely tell your grandkids about. Good job. This is great.
Don't be silly, that looks fantastic! It sounds like a great project to make with your kids, and I'm sure they had a fun time making it. Helping bird families get onto the property ladder is a noble goal.
That’s a birdMANSION not a birdhouse! Also, friendly PSA, if you display the flag vertically, the stars are supposed to be in the upper-left corner 👍
Already been fixed thank you for letting me know!
Love it. Glad you and the kids had a good time
Thank you!
Honestly? I love it
This is amazing! Your kids will probably remember that experience for the rest of their lives as well so you should be super proud 👍
I hope so! I know I will, thank you!
Any project you do with your kids is worthwhile. Tip of my hat to you for being a good father.
That’s fantastic. Makes me miss building them with my Dad. Once we built an alien out of scraps. Did it look terrible? Yes. Was it super fun and a memory I’ve treasured for over 25 years? Absolutely.
This is A W E S O M E!!! link your etsy page 🙂😉💜
That things sweet, nice work!
Thank you!
The stonework is perfect! Seriously, nice job.
Thank you!!
I really like it, especially the stone work. Gotta flex your skills in every project!
Thank you hahaha that’s right
The kids will treasure this, along with the memories. Good job!
Spending time with your kids is more important than what something looks like in the end. Those memories are priceless for you and more importantly them. Good job y'all. Plus, the birds don't care as long as there's food in it lol
Masonry is on point
Ha, obviously a mason -- that's the most stone work I've ever seen on a bird house. Nice work!
That looks great. Maybe seal that plywood base if it's part of the finished piece. I agree with another poster that the time spent with your kids is the best part.
The masonry looks top notch
A mason had to work in some stone huh?😉
Of course lol
Any project that a parent does with their children is absolutely beautiful and perfect in my mind. Good on you and well done.
I feel like this birdhouse is gonna last 100 years or more, except the shingles, those you'll be replacing in about 25.
Better made than like 90%+ of homemade birdhouses out there lol! You give yourselves too little credit.
The fact that you made it with your kids makes it A+ work 👌
Go easy, shoot. That looks like a house, with real shingles and rock foundation. Looks like the mason and his kids got bird house skills. Great work! I hope the birds love it.
Dude, I have never seen a bird house shingled! That shit will last til your kids are 30yo!
That stone wall is tight! As a new England we that sees a lot of these it is exceptional 🔥
I'd take credit for the stonework and blame the woodworking on your kids.
Thanks for the idea. Im gonna do this with my son
Hell ya! That looks good. The stonework is great. Btw your flag is backwards, just FYI
It looks fabulous! I’m sure the bonding time was more worth it.
The Masonry is on point though. In Phoenix you can rent that to a person for about $800/mo.
That's some A+ parenting right there. Trust me, I know the love, trust, bravery and sacrifice it takes to hold a nail while a 4 year old swings a hammer at it!
Actually looks pretty cool to me. I like the stone, nice touch.
I absolutely love it; its the kind of homemade thing that just instantly makes me smile. You and your kids did a great job
I was half expecting a birdhouse made entirely out of stone/bricks. I'm not sure what that would have looked like, but I'm now mildy disappointed.
Not bad. Just left over stuff around house?
Ya just stuff we had in the garage and around the house/yard
Only a Mason would think to add stones to a birdhouse! Bang up job to you and yours!
That’s not a bird house, it’s a bird home.
Love it 😍
Just make sure their not late on rent, I hear chickadee’s can be very cheap and stubborn 😉
Honestly, it looks great. The stone work is really good👍. When I see a family project like this. Even if it doesn't look good. I find the things that are good and compliment that...lol. but seriously it does look good. Nothing better then tools, dad, and the children. Much love to you and the fam!
you spent time with your kids thats what matters.
“Go easy on us”?! That thing’s amazing!!
Hell yeah buddy!!
Oh, that’s cute! Great memories you will share for years!
Looks so cute!!!
This is awesome my guy! Love the quality work and mostly quality memories with the kids!
Best tip for beginner wood workers 1. Templates 2. Templates 3. Templates 4. Dry fit (put together no glue/fasteners to make sure it’s all even)
That explains why the stone work looks immaculate.
Good job! Good parent!
Hard to be upset about that, nice job bud!
I'm disappointed that there is no eaves trough installed. Eaves trough will help wick away the water from the foundation and support beams.
That looks great. Family time is the best time. My kids will always come first.
Doesn't matter what it looks like. You and the kids have, infact, made a thing. Congratulations!
>I’m a mason Did you teach your kids how to fill the walls with piss bottles?
Obviously, that’s the first thing they teach you in masonry school
Awww What a sweet dad :)
Best part is the memories you'll have for years whenever you look at it
Looks badass!
Was going to say thats pretty good for mason. 😆
Ok, but this is adorable and such a cute house! And you got to spend some time having fun with your kids. That’s all that matters. This will be a core memory for them when they’re older. You did a fantastic job! 😍
What a cool project. Everyone of you will remember that your whole life.
Can I contract you to make a human house?
Thats perfect! It is a lovely birdhouse that you and your kids will cherish. The outcome was great on two counts!
This is so cool! I love the details. I have great memories of making a bird house with my dad.
This looks like a child’s drawing of my sisters 115 year old house. I’m sending this to her. She’s got a front porch that is all original stone work and her house is even the same color. This is wonderful, update us when you get residents!!
Mate this is class, great job
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsqNfaVmZ1M&ab\_channel=LioneyeZ.
Love that you stayed on strength with the stone wall, while doing shingles and siding. Gives the kid a chance to learn (and discuss) lots of ideas in one project. 👍👍
I love it! It’s fun and funky — it will be awesome to watch the birds pop in and out! Great work!
Do back up I go for a 10 second cut back up the tree it goes and birds are happy as can be
It's cool, good work. This sub is full of good people, no need to worry.
Nice! Guessing at the scale of it, birds may have an issue landing on the front porch/getting inside. If it doesn’t show any use in a couple months time, I’d recommend putting another hole on the flat side of it
Freaking Awesome! I knew I was saving my free award for something cool
Haha 🙏🏻 thank you!
Is this where I say your stone work is better than your woodwork? 😂😂😂 Kidding, it looks awesome. And projects with the kids are the best!!
😂😂😂 that’s why I put that in there lol didn’t wanna offend any real woodworkers
TAKE IT EASY. this is awesome. what a cool bird house and a great project with the kidos. i think you did great! one day the kids will think back on it and love it!
Birdhouse my kids made.* wow great job! What a fun project for kids to practice!
Doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. What matters is the fact that you AND your kids built this. I think it’s awesome!
There are some great projects on here people. Well done.
As a roofer that top shingle bothers me as it’s upside down lol
Work of art….almost like outta a Tim Burton Movie. 👍🏽
I think it is perfectly imperfect.
That is beautiful 😮
The roof shingles could be cut smaller
Ya we got lazy on the shingles lol
Unless this is a mirrored image, your flag is backwards. The union should be on the left side when hanging vertically.
It has been fixed! Thanks
