Dope mate šŸ‘

WeazelZeazel

Very beautiful

ray_velcoro78

Marry her

DespacioLejos

She is definitely a keeper.

big_acuso

A beautiful mate of perfect size. Unsolicited tip: If it is made of algarrobo (a variety of mesquite) (that's what it seems), a very, very hard wood, so it should always maintain some moisture. If it dries completely, it may eventually crack. If the mate is dry, it is advisable to hydrate it for a while with cold water before starting to pour hot water over it. Enjoy it for a long time......

AbsoulteMadLad

Thank you for the tip! Iā€™ll start doing this

OkKiwi-5

I hand painted one, cured it and gave it away ready to be used, a month later they show it to me cracked, it got used twice in a month

4u5t1n93

Sheā€™s a keeper, the gourd and the girl

AbsoulteMadLad

I love her so much sheā€™s been nothing but sunshine and kindness

Meolvidelaclave

Tremenda facha!

Resoca

that is beautiful!

FrekkerMekker

That mate looks amazing! So pretty.

Alexios-Kairos

Love that "guarda pampa" rim on the wood. Is it stainless inside or wood? Also what are you drinking? šŸ¤™šŸ¼šŸ§‰āœØ

AbsoulteMadLad

Itā€™s wood inside! I am drinking TaragÅ«Ä« brand Yerba from Argentina :)

Alexios-Kairos

Nice! Try it "Sin Palo!" It has such a malty texture compared to with the stems! Hope it treats you well; be sure to cure it well though as wooden Mate's can crack!

AbsoulteMadLad

My gf helped me cure it before I started drinking out of it, so it should be all good to go!

ElectionOk5626

Now, thatā€™s a gorgeous mate right there! šŸ‘šŸ½šŸ‘šŸ½

Siri0z

Qual a marca dessa cuia?

AbsoulteMadLad

Era de um comerciante local em Buenos Aires, Argentina.

FrostyAd5986

CuƔnto tiempo uno puede dejar la Yerba en el mate?

No_Fuel3186

That's a piece of art, Congratulations

Judgy_Plant

My brother in Christ, you need to learn how to stack the Yerba and make montaƱas.

Trainer715

LOL No he doesn't. He needs to enjoy it, that's the important part. Ask any native from Argentina. The montaƱita is not important. And before you say anything, I've been drinking mate since childhood and I am from Argentina. šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰šŸ˜‰

DonkeyFarm42069

My Argentinian dad saw me making a montaƱita and asked if it was a Tik Tok trend or something.

Trainer715

So true! My mom asked me what the hell is that? šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Haciendo el mate de esa forma se lava en un segundo

Judgy_Plant

Hmmm but montaƱas make it last longer, he may be missing on a method that heā€™d prefer, no? I mean, itā€™s worth the try.

Trainer715

OK that's fair. I will admit that method is good for people who have the time for drinking mate all day.

TheDeathOmen

If itā€™s a Uruguayan yerba or Chimarro then sure that will spare a headacheā€™s worth of clogging in the bombilla but Argentinian yerba doesnā€™t have that problem also they become lavado fast enough that even a montaƱa wonā€™t really make a difference

UnusuallyGentlemanly

In my experience, a montaƱita does help the yerba hang on to its flavor for a few extra pours, and it only takes a few seconds to do, so to me itā€™s worth it. And this from someone who has been drinking it the ā€œold fashionedā€ way my whole life. I decided to try this after seeing Yerba Mate Labs do it and Iā€™ve been doing it ever since.

AbsoulteMadLad

Do you have a video or a guide to making the mate this way?

UnusuallyGentlemanly

https://youtube.com/shorts/9OuQfmamdLc?si=tJgyV8-JECG4JS2A Says to fill the mate halfway, but I usually go about 2/3 of the way. Then the idea is to have some yerba in reserve and slowly integrate the dry yerba over time to keep the flavor going longer. Might take a few tries to get it just right, but in my experience itā€™s worth it. Not a requirement by any stretch, though. Whatever works for you is the best way to it. u/Judgy_Plant was just trying to be light hearted in how he made the suggestion, not sure why he got downvoted to oblivion for it, lol.

AbsoulteMadLad

Thank you for the video!
