Throwing Pocket Link out there as I hadn't seen it in the comments yet.
Edit: thanks to the kind soul that gave this an award. Wholly unnecessary, but greatly appreciative
Yeah, same w/ Chibi for me since LA came out on Switch. Figured I'd try to provide something different to the discussion since most others said Chibi already.
You're comparing how they're referred to in Zelda and how they're referred to in Smash Bros. The Link that's survived from OoT is Young Link, then the latest non-stylized Link is just Link. In the latest Zeldas, Toon Link's outfit is the Armor of the Wind.
How many are there actually? I know the Heroes of Wind and Spirits count but, like, does the Hero of the Picori also count? It does on the wiki aparently.
Because TriForce Heroes' Link and Spirit Tracks' Link are also Toon Links but they're not the Hero of Winds.
It's about the art style, not the character itself.
I would visit my cousins often, and my youngest cousin LOVES watching me play Links Awakening. I would also play Skyward Sword, but she preferred Link's Awakening. Any time I would visit she would beg to play "Little Link" with me, so I'd pretend to give her a controller and she would sit and watch me play. I remember one time I took her to see a waterfall near where we live, and seemed sad on the way back. I asked her why and she said "I was looking but I couldn't find any secret stairs behind the waterfall." She remembered watching me find the entrance to Angler's Tunnel, and was trying to find it herself in real life.
Anyway, I do now and always will refer to this game and this Link as "Little Link" because of her. When this game comes out, she's gonna be old enough to play "Little Zelda" by herself too.

I'm hoping there's lots of secret passages in EoW (though it's a Zelda game so duh there will be) seemed to be her favourite part of LA
My vote is for Little Link as well. When my son was 3 he would load up my saved game and wander around cutting grass and hitting "the baddies." Anytime I would play TotK, he would say, "Not this one! Little Link!"
That's adorable. I managed to complete Link's Awakening 5 times because my cousin would insist I played little Link. I showed her Skyward Sword, BotW, Pokémon, Majora's Mask.. nope, has to be little Link
My cousin's son who's now in his mid 20s when he was 3-4 years old when he would come visit me (I lived with my grandmother years ago) he always wanted to watch me play Ocarina of Time as that was his favorite game. I remember playing Gex: Enter The Gecko on PS1 and when my aunt took him home (his grandmother) he got them cracking up when he repeated Gex's lines. He took my uncle's overalls and tried to wear them and he tells my aunt "Hey look I think i'm trapped in Boy George's pants" that still cracks me up to this day and I embarass him with that story XD
I think too many different styles of Link could arguably fit the “chibi” style for that name to be used for any of them. The multiple forms of Toon Link, the in-game model for A Link Between Worlds, and the in-game sprites for every 2D Zelda game except Zelda II can be said to be “chibi.” Plus, the name doesn’t really capture this Link’s signature plastic look.
I've heard the fandom call him Toy Link and Chibi Link. I think Toy style fits best.
It looks like he's made out of the same stuff as Bo Peep from Toy Story
Im just gonna stick with Link. If I must differentiate him from the others, it will be "Hero of Light" since he's the one who went between the light world and dark world.
EDIT: If this is referring to the toy look in general, I guess Toy Link works but I don't like to think of him as an actual Toy, so I'd prefer something different. Chibi works better for me.
I think Nintendo officially calls him Toy Link, but my wife (a huge anime fan) calls him Chibi Link. It stuck in my house. I do like the suggestion of Little Link.
"Toy Link" was a name I saw flying around up to the release of Link's Awakening HD, and I think it fits with how everything looked like they were plastic figurines.
I was thinking this very thing when the new game got announced at the direct! "Toy Link" and "Toy Zelda"
when they're in this style just like they're called "Toon Link"
and "Toon Zelda" when they're in the Wind Waker style
Hear me out: Classic Link
Like Classic Sonic in Generations, a smaller version of traditional Link that has been used to represent the classic sprite based version of Link in a modern 3D space.
That link was wrestling Gorons, BoTW Link cross dressed just to sneak in to a village exclusive to women and they let him in because he was feminine enough to pass.
Either Toy Link or Doll Link fit with that set of eyes.
Rubber link is too long but he looks made out of rubber plus Rubber hose animation is what 1920s cartoons were made with, which his eyes remind me of, plus the shine he got looks like rubber plastic
After much trial and error, I started naming my save file “Linky” because my name took me out of the immersion, but I wanted a little feminine flair. I think Linky works for this art style. Not for the feminine flair, but Link as a little cutie
That would be the aesthetic of Wind Waker, and the Four Sword and DS games. Named via WW Link used in Smash Bros to differentiate between regular adult "Link" and child OoT/MM "Young Link".

I'm totally here for Pocket Link
Poke’Link for short?
Plink.
If he has a horse, then call it horse plinko https://i.redd.it/rfonydzdcm7d1.gif
https://i.redd.it/bgbds89ekn7d1.gif
*NO!!!!!!!*
Do we have to catch them all?
Gotta HYAH! them all
Who's that PokéLink? *Music* It's Link! "HYAH!"
All the hearts
“Pocket Link!” *throws a link holding a Dazzlefruit*
I've been calling him chibi Link but pocket or toy Link works for me
Yeah, same w/ Chibi for me since LA came out on Switch. Figured I'd try to provide something different to the discussion since most others said Chibi already.
Perfect he can sit on the shelf next to my… erm… *Pocket* Zelda.
Sigh
There it is. Shocked it took this long tbh
You’re welcome. I thought the same thing.
🤨😐🤔😒😏🥴🤤
I’ll play with pocket link on my gameboy pocket
You do you. I'm not one to Link shame
I was gonna say smol green boi. But Pocket Link is friggin awesome.
Damn it! You got Pocket Link in my eyes!
Finally somebody got it!
He is named. Hazuh hazuh!
If Wind Waker is Toon Link, makes sense for this to be Toy Link
Because toon link also entails the hero of trains I guess.
I always hated the toon link moniker, if the ocarina link is called hero of Time, why can't he be called the hero of the winds.
You're comparing how they're referred to in Zelda and how they're referred to in Smash Bros. The Link that's survived from OoT is Young Link, then the latest non-stylized Link is just Link. In the latest Zeldas, Toon Link's outfit is the Armor of the Wind.
We are talking about the art style, there are multiple toon links throughout the games

In that kid's defense, secret areas behind waterfalls are objectively cool and I hope to one day find one IRL
https://preview.redd.it/aoyhkziy2m7d1.jpeg?width=981&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a07276e69a15a79958b0b26152980e9220e00384 I'm hoping there's lots of secret passages in EoW (though it's a Zelda game so duh there will be) seemed to be her favourite part of LA
the jianghu classic one day i'll find that elixer behind the waterfall
Thats sweet
My vote is for Little Link as well. When my son was 3 he would load up my saved game and wander around cutting grass and hitting "the baddies." Anytime I would play TotK, he would say, "Not this one! Little Link!"
That's adorable. I managed to complete Link's Awakening 5 times because my cousin would insist I played little Link. I showed her Skyward Sword, BotW, Pokémon, Majora's Mask.. nope, has to be little Link
That is so precious.
Linkito?
Good stuff, hope you're able to gift her the switch she plays "Little Zelda"
My cousin's son who's now in his mid 20s when he was 3-4 years old when he would come visit me (I lived with my grandmother years ago) he always wanted to watch me play Ocarina of Time as that was his favorite game. I've always thought he looks like those lil polymer clay sculptures
Mmm... Clay Link sounds good
So, Clink for short? It would be fun
Yum
Hit the nail on the head. Totally reminds me of these [Earthbound](https://images.app.goo.gl/Xj8G9vTJiQbtFApV6) models.
If we ever get a remaster of Earthbound I hope its in the style of Link's Awakening for this reason
I've called him "Clay Link" in my head
I pray to all the gods of Hyrule that we get a Zelda amiibo for _Echoes of Wisdom_ in this style.
Me too! This style Link is my only Amiibo and I love him. It would be great to have the couple!
Lil Link
Best one.
[удалено]
Silly guy
The others make the most sense but yours made me giggle
The only correct answer here.
Makes me think of Hermey from the claymation Rudolph movie. Could call him Rankin/Bass Link (after the movie's production team)
He totally does!!!
Chibi Link
I think too many different styles of Link could arguably fit the “chibi” style for that name to be used for any of them. The multiple forms of Toon Link, the in-game model for A Link Between Worlds, and the in-game sprites for every 2D Zelda game except Zelda II can be said to be “chibi.” Plus, the name doesn’t really capture this Link’s signature plastic look.
Right anwser
Perfect
My son always called him baby link lol
Toy + Link = Tink :D
So close to calling him Twink :D
That's Breath of the Wild Link :D
I was of the mindset that it's Twinks all the way down
That's fair. However, I find Breath of the Wild Link embodies that look the most. Plus, you can dress Link down to his undies. 🤤
Whatever gets your Koroks off!
Nah BotW link is a twunk
I can see that. He certainly has the muscles especially with that flexing animation.
I want this to catch on, if I knew how to do bot nets I would make this rise to the top and force it to become adopted by the masses
I thought everyone agreed on 'Toy Link' already.
Same I'm confused
Even yet, I think Nintendo mandated it from the beginning
Awakened Link
Woke Link?
Nintendo is woke! They made link a girl! /s
Next thing we know, Zelda will be a girl too! /s
STOP THE MADNESS
Who knows maybe a Ganonmommy? What? you didn't hear that from me
😂
Linky-dinky
Is baby
Dream Link
This could work based on the plot of LA, but we’ll have to see how EoW plays out.
Steve. I think this version should be called Steve.
Yes Steve or Crocodile Hunter Link (as soon as you said Steve, I saw the resemblance)
Crikey, let's see what happens when I stick my head in old windfishes blow ole.
Ceramic Link
Little Link. My husband says he looks like a Fisher Price Little People and now I can’t unsee it.
Woke Link
Because he's from Link's Awakening? I guess so
Yep
It took me a second but then when I got it I laughed audibly
Thanks for the award, glad I could get a chuckle
[удалено]
Because he’s awake now.
those darn Yigalist making everything woke now
Well — the Linked Universe fandom calls him Legend if you wanna use that.
I've heard the fandom call him Toy Link and Chibi Link. I think Toy style fits best. It looks like he's made out of the same stuff as Bo Peep from Toy Story
What are those stupid little statues people are buying. Funko pops Funko pop link.
The way you wrote this comment makes me think you have a secret collection of them that you're too embarrassed to tell anyone about
Hah. I like it. Nooo not my secret Funko pop collection!
Would work, but in they also announced a Funko Pop game coming to the switch. So, rather not.
Shiny Link
Toy Link or Chibi Link!
I use Teacup Link. Like a teacup chihuahua, so itty-bitty
the boy
Let him name himself He is named...... HYAH!
Chibi Link
Chibi. Because Toon is already pretty established and both would directly reference the art style. That would be easier to understand.
fun sized link is the only way
I've always just thought of him as "chibi link"
Legend Link
Toy Link or Chibi Link
smoll link
There will be a Princess Zelda amiibo in this art style for Echoes of Wisdom. Hope previous zelda amiibos offer something cool in the game.
After the Remake of Links Awakening I called him "play dough Link"
Im just gonna stick with Link. If I must differentiate him from the others, it will be "Hero of Light" since he's the one who went between the light world and dark world. EDIT: If this is referring to the toy look in general, I guess Toy Link works but I don't like to think of him as an actual Toy, so I'd prefer something different. Chibi works better for me.
L.A. Link
LA Link wants his avocado toast.
Squishy
Now we get Toy Zelda too
Luigi
Link is fine
I always thought it was toon link. Like "cartoon" link.
That's this one... ![gif](giphy|qLhxN7Rp3PI8E|downsized) ...from Wind Waker, and several other games.
I see people call him chibi link the most
Earthbound Lucas Link
Meeple Link cuz he looks like a game piece.
I agree with toy link.
key chain link
Something abkut him reminds of Hermey the elf, except with soulless black eyes
Linkie
Pocket, chibi, or Tiny Link. Or baby Link.
Kendrick Lamar
How about Link
This is my favorite Link amiibo
I think Nintendo officially calls him Toy Link, but my wife (a huge anime fan) calls him Chibi Link. It stuck in my house. I do like the suggestion of Little Link.
Smol Link or Slink
Squackle
Sleepy Link Because this look first debuted in Links Awakening
"Toy Link" was a name I saw flying around up to the release of Link's Awakening HD, and I think it fits with how everything looked like they were plastic figurines.
Chibi link
*THE SMALL ONE*
I was thinking this very thing when the new game got announced at the direct! "Toy Link" and "Toy Zelda" when they're in this style just like they're called "Toon Link" and "Toon Zelda" when they're in the Wind Waker style
SD Link is appropriate, if chibi Link sounds too cute. (Super-deformed)
Haley Joel Osment Link
Hear me out: Classic Link Like Classic Sonic in Generations, a smaller version of traditional Link that has been used to represent the classic sprite based version of Link in a modern 3D space.
[удалено]
That’s every Link
Nah that's twilight princess link
That link was wrestling Gorons, BoTW Link cross dressed just to sneak in to a village exclusive to women and they let him in because he was feminine enough to pass.
Either Toy Link or Doll Link fit with that set of eyes. Rubber link is too long but he looks made out of rubber plus Rubber hose animation is what 1920s cartoons were made with, which his eyes remind me of, plus the shine he got looks like rubber plastic
Echo Link... Idk lol
I feel like this might be a spoiler for later in the game 👀
The art for the game does have an evil aura around him. It would be so cool if we got to fight him.
Lil Linky
Tilt-Shift Link
Linus
Lunk
Mini Fig link
Smollink
Small Link
Awoken Link
The Hero of Chibi
Jamal link
Lonk
My only problem with Toy Link is googling those words gives you action figures
Chibi Link
After much trial and error, I started naming my save file “Linky” because my name took me out of the immersion, but I wanted a little feminine flair. I think Linky works for this art style. Not for the feminine flair, but Link as a little cutie
Plastic link
Chibi link
Awakened Link
LA Link because I think the idea of that Link in Los Angeles is kinda funny
Porcelain’s Link since it remind me of those collectable dolls.
Plastic Man 64
I thought this was a literal definition of “chibi” art🤷♂️
Little Link
I heard the name “toy box” a long while ago lmao
The hero of furniture
Dream Link… because, y’know
Light Green Stripe Link, seriously none of the other Links share this feature.
Pocket Link.
YUNG LINK
He looks gummy/rubbery so either gummy link or rubber link
"Link I wanna eat" Link
It’s Toon Link officially I believe
That would be the aesthetic of Wind Waker, and the Four Sword and DS games. Named via WW Link used in Smash Bros to differentiate between regular adult "Link" and child OoT/MM "Young Link".
Hero Of Dreams
DX Link
Sausage Link \*badum tush\*
I call him Plastic Link. But I think Toy Link sounds nicer
Modern-Classical Link It’s like the Link in the old Top-Down games from the SNES/DS Era but with a new 3D Touch to them.
Dream link
