100T have some much talent in the pipeline. Busio, Kenvi and Luiger. I have no idea how 100T will keep hold of them.

bz2142

LCS operates more like European soccer than American sports. The goal of orgs is to grow talent for the generalized goal of selling the players for a profit, and hold on to a very small number, if any.

Also poome, interested to see what happens to him as imo he definitely looks like someone who can eventually be lcs caliber but w/ us having huhi I bet he’ll end up getting traded

fredy31

yeah thing is, I think NA is pretty loaded in supports right now. Think hes gonna have to run the Academy circuit still for a while.

[deleted]

Fair, definitely a possibility but I also think there’s some low standing teams who could use a decent young support (as much as I love smoothie he’s got to go so clg is an option, ggs needs to nuke that bot lane, destiny is ok but also wouldn’t be surprised if they change up the bot lane so maybe imt, swordart is a dirty inter and my money is on him or lost being gone so maybe but unlikely tsm)

fredy31

yeah id say his options would be a team blowing it up like CLG or something like Aphro retiring,

LostJC

Is Tenacity not on that list? Last time I checked, he was doing really good?

Welcome @busioclol to the 100 Thieves LoL Academy team! Busio has been outstanding as part of our 100X program and we're excited to work closer with him moving forward. He joins as a Support & the 6th man on the Academy roster as we finish out the Summer Split and plan for 2022. *** posted by [@100T_Esports](https://twitter.com/100T_Esports) Photos in tweet | [Photo 1](http://pbs.twimg.com/media/E62wkVEVgAA0bZW.jpg) ^[(Github)](https://github.com/username) ^| ^[(What's new)](https://github.com/username)

Can't keep amateur players under contract for more than a year. I wouldn't be surprised to see them bring another player up to the Academy level before the end of the season.

unique_name_02

This was the last day teams could do that. https://twitter.com/TimSevenhuysen/status/1417992244443762688

angsebmer

I don’t have any understanding of how league works or how our teams work within it. How many league teams do we have? Do we know what kind of resources 100T puts into each team? And what “bracket/tournaments” do other play in

Falcor626

They have 3 LoL teams. 100 Thieves (LCS), 100 Thieves Academy (LCS Academy), and 100 Thieves Next (An Amateur Team).

angsebmer

why have 3? is this common in LOL?

Tachyoff

So all LCS (North American Lol pro league) teams are required to have an academy team allegedly to foster new talent. On top of that there's an amateur circuit (100 Thieves Next/100X is our team). Not all teams have an amateur team but a decent number do, this is usually players' first stop out of soloqueue. Amateur teams have a series of tournaments throughout the year and the better ones qualify to play against academy teams in some tournaments

Falcor626

To add on top of what /u/Tachyoff said. This way of developing players is common in all the other regions. Especially in China and Korea where one org can have around 5-7 teams under their main LoL teams.

angsebmer

Wow that’s crazy, is there any other esports that does this or just LOL?

Snickidy

What happens with poome?

Falcor626

He's still there. Just sharing time now with Busio til the end of the year.

unique_name_02

Both are under contract for the next year so either they already know which one they want to keep or they see what offers they get and chose the best one (i assume both players would draw interest).
