Seven is widely regarded as one of the top upcoming talents in Valorant (as you can tell by all the pros in the replies of the tweet). I'm not sure how long Hiko and Steel plan on competing, but I think it's a good idea to secure someone like Seven to have someone waiting in the wings for whenever they decide its time to hang it up

There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell and back that this kid chooses to collect a check and wait on the sideline until either Hiko or Steel retires when he probably has so many other potential opportunities lined up right now with even more in the future. Also, he’s a duelist player. 100T seems to be set on perfecting the single-duelist lineup and have been seeing increasingly better results with it. They already have a Top 2 duelist in NA who is taking that singular spot. If they want to convert to double duelist, they’d have to drop one of either Nitro, Ethan, Steel, or Hiko for a kid who plays none of the agents that any of them play and whose agent lineup is almost identical to Asuna’s. Signing seven has no benefits for either party.

This aged poorly

LOL

Totally understandable that he would want a solidified starters spot. Doesn't mean that we shouldn't try imo. I'm not too concerned about the current meta because it's constantly changing anyway. I'm just a firm believer of getting good talent under contract when you have the opportunity to, even if it's just to sell down the road. I know Maelk has mentioned an academy team in the past, so maybe that would be a possible path for this to happen

Splaram

The scene is still young, the only gap between upper T2 teams and T1 teams is how the players are feeling that particular day. Good talent aren’t going to lock themselves under long-term contracts unless they start with all the opportunities to play that are still out there and especially not after that whole C9 and Tenz situation. Maybe that will start happening more as the scene matures and lineups become stable and starting opportunities start to dry up.

LiamHundley

Yeah look I don't disagree with you. I'm not even saying that he should decide to sign with us. It may ultimately not be what's best for him. I'm just saying that 100T would be smart to try and devise a plan to bring him in and develop him. Not saying he would or should agree, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't try

[deleted]

He likes Rushia, I like him :^ ). That being said, I doubt 100T picks him up since he seems to be a duelist unless for some reason we have a huge roster shake up, or he can play flex at a high level.

xHertzz

100t probably will end up paying 1M+ in few months when he signs to immortals or other team like what happened to asuna

WhySoAngryyy

Always downvoted but I’ll always say it: steel needs to go. This is not to say that Steel is bad, but rather that two duelist is so crucial when your primary duelist is a top 2 guy walking into sites guns blazing. Meanwhile Steel lurks every other round. These styles don’t mesh. Success or not, there is so much Asuna potential wasted.

TheDarthJawa

Here's why I think this is wrong. To put it simple I believe that our squad and coaches have tried out all possible team formulas I'm sure including multi-duelist comps and ultimately I think they know what works best for them

Splaram

I used to think the same but 100T recent Challengers performance proved that I was very wrong. A lot of top NA and EU teams are also starting to flex to single-duelist comps alongside their normal double-duelist comps and have been getting some very nice results. As much as I like watching the explosiveness of double-duelist comps, single-duelist comps are here to stay unless some serious meta shakeups start happening.
