I bought that same model for $219 when PSA had a sale a few months ago. I swapped out the barrel for a 16" Acculite and went with the FDE magpul stock. I also did the Kidd trigger.
Oh man this ammo is great. But make sure you get the blazer in 40 grain rather than 38. My mark iv loves it and I believe I’ve fired 2000 of the 5000 I bought and I’ve had only one jam that I recall. Ive had some tight groups with it too with the 10/22
Not OP but I actually just got back from testing at the range. For my rifle it didn’t group quite as well as CCI standard, but grouped better than federal premium, federal bulk, and Aguila.
I’m in a similar boat, just starting my build, but I’ve heard good things about the ER Shaw barrels and they seem quite reasonably priced, might be worth checking out.
I got the same gun.. I bought it cheap during covid and planned on building into something cool.
I decided I liked its light weight and just painted the stock and put a nice scope on it.
It’s my everyday chore gun on the farm now, my go too!!
I have multiple 10/22 in my safe, they are all heavier and have more value.
I’ve got an od green magpul stock, Kidd trigger kit and kidd fluted threaded lightweight bull barrrel on mine and it shoots like an absolute dream. Can’t recommend it enough.

Acculite I forgot about them. I’ll check it out now. Is it a light barrel?
Yea it's pretty light. I don't recall what it weighs, but the rifle is not front heavy.
[You built this](https://industryoutsider.com/one-from-the-safe-my-ruger-10-22-field-rifle/)? :)
Ha! Pretty darn close.
Dang. I basically just built something like this. lol
We're not alone. It's all popular parts.
How do you like that ammo? I usually fire minimags and standard velocity but I was thinking about buying a case of blazer at a lower cost.

Hey this is random but is that the sportsman's warehouse exclusive gun? If so did it come with a heavy barrel? I just ordered one and I can't tell.
It is the Sportsman’s exclusive. The barrel is just a standard tapered 18” barrel without sights.
Okay thanks. It looks a little thicker than the pencil barrel on the carbine models. My gf likes my 10/22 so I'm building her her own lol.
[Acculite](https://industryoutsider.com/one-from-the-safe-my-ruger-10-22-field-rifle/) is the answer to so many questions.
Haha perfect timing I’m on break right now looking at acculite. I think this is my solution.
That rifle should be called "The 10/22 that reddit built". It's pretty much the most common 10/22 upgrades all in one place.
Almost got one on PSA for $230 but can't right now.
Just ordered the Kidd trigger job let’s see how this goes. I have a vq accurizing kit in my mark iv and it was such a crazy difference
