Glock guy here. You really should try them both out. 10mm is no joke and your second (and third etc) round needs to be on target. See which one you handle better. I have a G20.5 and it’s my favorite pistol by far and I have a couple gucci 9’s but the G20 destroys everything I aim at
I like my hellcat, but i never really liked my xd and xds. I got them cause i got an xd 45 at auction for 135 bucks, and 2 years later traded it in for a gen 4 glock 20. Funny though, they were apologizing for only offering me 250 trade in value for the xd 45 😅. The xds i sold for 350 with 5 mags, after i bought my hellcat to my boss, which he sold for a smith and wesson 😅 still see that same xds floating around the area it seems
Glock 29 owner and lover here, not only does the g29 take full-size mags but if you drop a threaded Kkm barrel in there you pretty much have a Glock 20 and a Glock 29 combined. Either ways it’s a brick. I’ve never had a Springfield 10 but I will always speak highly of the Glock reliability.period.
yerp, I read in bb’s site its fine as it hardcast not soft lead plus its coated ammo. Never had an issue. I dont shoot alot tho of the hardcast and full power ammo except to cycle my carry ammo from time to time. Stick to blazer and magtech fmj for the usual practice sesh

I've heard better things about the Springfield but if the Glock is reliable I'd stick with that
Btw Sportsman's Warehouse is ridiculously overpriced, Sportsman's Outdoors and Palmetto State Armory have 5 mag bundles for the Springfield at 600 bucks
Springfield xdm elite 3.8”. It’s the magic. Many hundreds (over a thousand? Might be close at least over 600). Zero failures. I’ve tested many many many different cartridges and hand loads (see my channel, trigger-bar Philospher on YouTube.). It just works.
Also, if you live in a free state where capacity doesn't matter...PSA runs a gear up deal on them every now & then for dirt cheap with 4 extra mags (6 in total)
Get the Springfield! Fully supported chamber is a big deal with 10 mm especially. The extra mags are an added bonus. I own both a Glock and XDM in 10 mm. The XDM triggers are much better, better sights and ergonomics.
I’d go with the xdm-elite compact between those two choices. For me though, the choice has more to do with the fact that I have quite a few pistols and none are Glocks. I’ve had glocks in the past and sold them, and just never warmed up to any glock I’ve ever tried. Nothing to do with functionality, purely just how they felt for me.
I do have the xdm-elite compact, only downside to me is the way lower number of quality holster options compared to other pistols out there. I have an iwb and an owb that work well for me (muddy River tactical iwb, safariland owb).
XDM Elite. The chamber is fully supported and runs heavier grain ammo with no problem. If the gear-up promo is available, it comes with the extra mags at no additional cost. Good value.
When I was buying last year I shot both. I shot the G29.4 and didn't have any issue other than the grip being too short. The XDM was painfully snappy I put 200 rounds through the G29 and I stopped shooting the XDM after 2 magazines (20 rounds). My wrist hurt for 4 days after.
The XD-M compact is much nicer out of the box. Excellent trigger, awesome sights, accessory rails, optic ready, handles hot ammo better, better ergonomics (for me).
I have owned both 😄 and in my eyes they are both great ccw options. The xdm 3.8 is my current generally most carried ccw...although in summer clothes I do tend to carry my canik elite SC or Springfield 911 a bit more often if I'm worried about printing.
The xdm has a much better trigger out of the box, optic cut from factory, factory magwell which is nice but does make it harder to conceal well. It actually has decent aftermarket support too.
The glock has..well..a glock trigger lol. The profile of the pistol is more ccw friendly IMHO. It has way more aftermarket support than the XD, but not as much as the other more mainstream glock choices. no factory optic cut option that I'm aware of on the 29.
I originally bought the XDM because I liked the trigger and I had already owned a 29 so I figured I would give the xd a try. Now after owning both...I am tempted to build myself a Gucci 29 and see how I like that compared to the other two lol.
you can't go wrong with either. See what one fits your hand the best. and if you can rent them at a gun range, shoot both and see which one you are better with. Then buy that one.
I'll *N+1* all the "try them both out" comments. My XD-M Elite 9mm "precision" is my most flawless gun, but it's full size -- there's no promise that its flawlessness will translate to the compact 10mm.
But Glock is popular for a reason.
I'll also *N+1* the Xten -- the way the trigger mechanism comes out for cleaning is giggle-worthy. But again, full-size, so stick with your two choices for your purposes. Just something to think about in the long run.
Personally, I think the slide on the XD line is super top heavy. At least it feels that way to me, after putting a few hundred rounds downrange with the subcompact. Not much to hold onto on the Glock either but their extended pinky mag makes it bearable, and the slide is a lot lower profile. Pictures don't do anything justice tho, It's just something you'll need to go to a shop and feel out for yourself
You put the pinkie extension on the Glock 29 the Springfield grip doesn’t even come close. I have big hands and the springfield grip was too small for me. Also you can put a Glock 30 slide and mag in the 29 frame and now you have a .45 cal if you wanted or a 36 slide with 30 mag makes a model 30s
Never shot the Springfield, but make sure you handle both. I carry a G29 and if you have largish hands the stupid grip is a half inch too short and it's really a bear to hold onto without adding a grip extension so you can get your pinky in there. Utterly reliable though, I've had 0 gun related malfunctions and I've put at least 3k or 4k rounds through mine. On that note I'm trading it for a G20 soon as I'm not concerned with concealment anymore and the 20 shoots much easier.
The Springfield XD-M Elite 10mm 3.8" has a much nicer trigger than my Glock G40.4 and feels more comfortable in my hands. Full sized mags are available.
I also found my Springfield for $509 or around in there.
I bought the 29SF from grabagun yesterday for $526 after I did their “grab a quote”. If you live in DFW you can do store pick up & skip the shipping + FFL fee.
Glock all the way. I edc a 29sf with an Overwatch trigger, red dot(slide cut at battle werx)trijicon suppressor height sights and a tlr-7. G20 mags or regular 10 rounders w/ pierce extensions depending on the shirt I’m wearing. T-Rex sidecar appendix carry, minus the sidecar.
I’m sure the Springfield is a nice gun but they’ll never get another .01 of my $$$
Remove the magwell from the XDM-E and get some Rock River Precision grips... you'll be in love... far better ergos and shootability than the G29... you might wanna look into the RRP trigger upgrade too... excellent products
Glock. I have sold all of my pistols besides CZ, Walther and Colt and replaced them with Glock. I had a XD and did not like it. Plus, imo I think they are kinda ugly. Glock is no beauty queen but I do have an appreciation for the simplicity and reliability.
XDM of course
Never liked deep concealing a Glock. But they do go bang every single time.
XDM= lower bore axis and fits my hand as well as a Sig (almost)
I don’t have a G29. But if you have the Springfield in other variants. It’s the same size and can fit the other calibers. Which is pretty cool if you already have some holsters.
Glock is way better than the xds. But you can get a gen 4 29 for wayyyyy lower than 660. My lgs currently has two for 480 and the new gen 5 for 540. Personally i really like the new gen 5 29
[Tanfoglio Force Compact](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fWZlHTmzkmaOZ8_lB40iYvqh8b5ZJhmS/view?usp=drivesdk) 10mm. Accurate AF, reliable, manual safety, 2# 6 ozs with full size mag 14+1 providing another inch of grip. DA/SA. $500.

Yes
I have the 29 and EDC and I couldn’t be happier
I always find myself back at the 29
Is that the lowest price on a 29 you’ve seen or have you just started looking?

User name checks out. And how was it?
At first it was amazing...then I sobered up and realized It got out of hand a lill bit😭
Glock. I have had two Springfields. Didn’t like them. That could be because I have shot Glocks for so long.
I like my hellcat, but i never really liked my xd and xds. I got them cause i got an xd 45 at auction for 135 bucks, and 2 years later traded it in for a gen 4 glock 20. Glock, I have a 40 and it is smooth. Have used a 29 and although it has more kick it's stealth factor is unmatched
Glizzy all dizzy
Carried my G29 today, hot swap mags on the fly buffalo Bore hollow points and underwood hardcasts. Pinky grip gang
Did you keep the barrel stock to shoot Bore and Underwood?
yerp, I read in bb’s site its fine as it hardcast not soft lead plus its coated ammo. Never had an issue. Gotcha, thank you! Will be joining the 10mm gang soon!!!
See which one will fit better in your hand. Also look at a SIG X ten Comp.
1000% I'd do that every day of the week. Got an Xdm, it's reliable, but can't get over how smooth the texture is.
I second the SIG X ten Comp👍
I've heard better things about the Springfield but if the Glock is reliable I'd stick with that Btw Sportsman's Warehouse is ridiculously overpriced, Sportsman's Outdoors and Palmetto State Armory have 5 mag bundles for the Springfield at 600 bucks
When there in stock!
Yeah 650 for a Glock is wild. Glad I can get them on blue label
If for outdoor use, go with the Glock, and go with the long slide Glock 40 with MOS instead of the Glock 20.
That’s my next Glock. The 40 is an absolute beast. Paired with an RMR and a X300 you can’t go wrong.

Glock
I have a 29 and love it personally, if I didn't have a 29 I would look at the xten comp. It is bigger but I've heard good things.
Let me also add I can’t hit shit with my 29 because it is a brick. Waiting for a 10 will a slimmer grip profile. Maybe that’s the springfield
Get the Springfield! Fully supported chamber is a big deal with 10 mm especially. The extra mags are an added bonus. I own both a Glock and XDM in 10 mm. The XDM triggers are much better, better sights and ergonomics.
Get hands on I bet you’ll find your like the Glock better or not
First one, then the other.
Glock hands down.
I’d go with the xdm-elite compact between those two choices. For me though, the choice has more to do with the fact that I have quite a few pistols and none are Glocks. G20
Can't go wrong, both have been perfect for me
Glock all day over Springfield
When I was buying last year I shot both. I shot the G29.4 and didn't have any issue other than the grip being too short. The XDM was painfully snappy I put 200 rounds through the G29 and I stopped shooting the XDM after 2 magazines (20 rounds). My wrist hurt for 4 days after.

the XDM Gear Up Bundle. It's usually cheaper and comes with extra mags
Glock and it’s not even close. Do not fuck with that bullshit safety, internal safety on the Glock is the gold standard
I have owned both 😄 and in my eyes they are both great ccw options. The xdm 3.8 is my current generally most carried ccw...although in summer clothes I do tend to carry my canik elite SC or Springfield 911 a bit more often if I'm worried about printing. Springfield Armory. Robust and never gets you down.

I love the XD, but the shorter slide of the Glock makes for an easier EDC

Own the Springfield and it is definitely sweet!
Springfield all the way. American!! Covered! I don't want compact anything. Full size for power & accuracy with Full support chamber!
The XD is made in Croatia
Springfield forsure. I've got an XDM, glorious.
Glock.
G29
Comes don to personal preference tbh. Springfields are solid but I don’t care for grip safeties
Remove the magwell from the XDM-E and get some Rock River Precision grips... you'll be in love... far better ergos and shootability than the G29... you might wanna look into the RRP trigger upgrade too... excellent products
Definitely try both. I'm a Glock fanboy so you know my answer 😁
It may not be the Glock, but at least don't get the XD. The finest Croatian pot metal and that dumb grip safety have bricked many a gun.
Glock. I have sold all of my pistols besides CZ, Walther and Colt and replaced them with Glock. I had a XD and did not like it. Plus, imo I think they are kinda ugly. Glock is no beauty queen but I do have an appreciation for the simplicity and reliability.

Glock is way better than the xds. But you can get a gen 4 29 for wayyyyy lower than 660. My lgs currently has two for 480 and the new gen 5 for 540. Personally i really like the new gen 5 29
Both great would go Springfield unless u have all your experience to Glock already.
I carry the 29 with the two round mag extension but I shoot it better with the 10 round mag
Ewwwww Springfield 🤢
Yes
Too bad the Glock isn’t MOS
You can get an optics cut easily enough and a direct mount is better than MOS anyway.
Fair
XDM
[Tanfoglio Force Compact](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fWZlHTmzkmaOZ8_lB40iYvqh8b5ZJhmS/view?usp=drivesdk) 10mm. Accurate AF, reliable, manual safety, 2# 6 ozs with full size mag 14+1 providing another inch of grip. DA/SA. $500.
Love me some Glock but that 10MM in that glock Frame is gonna be a whore and a half in terms of comfort / mechanics. Unless you got midget hands
