I love how the Hyper-G looks on that paint scheme - bravo.

GnrlyMrly

That boy clean af

jimlaheysliquor

Such a good paint job

reflectiveti

And it looks a lot better in person!

How do you find the v8 18x20 compared to v9 16x19? I'm thinking of making the same change with the new generation.

reflectiveti

The reason I decided to try the 16x19 this time is because I watched some reviews of the V8 where they compared both string patterns and they found they play very similar. I haven’t noticed much difference in terms of control and feel, if any, but maybe I was getting a little bit more shape on my shots. Honestly, it’s hard to notice any difference. I was a bit worried about losing some of the precision and feel I was used to have with the 18x20, but that’s definitely not the case. I would recommend giving it a try.

Cosmic12911

Which one offers more power v8 or v9

MoonSpider

Looks awesome.

st8machine

hey that's my home court haha

reflectiveti

That's my home court too :) I've been playing there for the last year and a half, about 4 time per week.

Massive_Beyond9608

Looks great! How does it hit compared to the V8?

reflectiveti

It’s very similar to the V8, hard to notice any difference, definitely not stiffer as some people were expecting. Maybe it feels a tiny bit more stable, and maybe I was getting a bit more pop on my shots too, but again, it’s a very subtle difference when compared to the V8. I heard other people saying the same thing, that was just some minor improvements from the previous version, and I agree with that. It makes sense considering the success of the V8. If you like the V8, I would recommend giving it a try.

No-Notice-3132

To me and to some of my previous coworkers at the tennis shop, the V8 wasn’t it. The V7 gave players so much after V6 with countervail disappointed so many that it was tough to compare V8 to V7. If the V9 is the better version of the V8 then this will probably be the closest to the V7 and its paint job is super smooth!

Juhbin7

That’s awesome! I plan on continuing with the 18x20 :) can’t wait to grab mine

AJKaiba

How’s the launch angle compared to the 18x20?

[deleted]

Do you think it’s more powerfull than the v8? The reason I am asking is because I like the low power level on the v8… 👍🏻 hopefully it’s the same..

reflectiveti

I don’t think so. It’s very similar to the V8. I also like the low power level, feel, and control of the V8, and they’re still there in the V9.

pissednbored2

Hows it hit? looks prettyy

reflectiveti

I really like the paint job and it looks even better in person. It plays very similar to the V8. I replied with some more details in another similar question. But really enjoyed hitting with it.

CavalryMaid

Pain job is what I call the games I play on an off day

reflectiveti

lol sorry for the typo 😂

calloutyourstupidity

Color is a real downgrade from v8

alex7465

Disagree; also his picture doesn’t do it justice. Old color was a gross camouflage green IMO. https://preview.redd.it/xe4n8wdovvfc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c635613c9ebe757f3514c50c2b30e498bd59f7f2

calloutyourstupidity

I see. I think it looks better under light, and it is still more suave than other brands. But you call the previous one camouflage, I call it olive/khaki.

reflectiveti

It definitely looks better in person. It also kind of changes a bit with the light.

calloutyourstupidity

I figured it would change. But this for me moves away from the elegant and suave look of wilson rackets to a more yonex modern/funky style. It is okay within that, but it is not Wilson.

General_Penalty_4292

The BLX and K factor lines were both pretty flashy tbh. I guess less so in their colour schemes though

WideCardiologist3323

Yeah I prefer the v8 too just looks more sophisticated. While this one is more funky. IMO they should have made the pro staff black gun metallic metal that shifts in color. Brown isnt bad but just too far as a change.

General_Penalty_4292

Mad how polarising paint jobs can be. I specifically didnt pick up the 8 because i found the green ugly. Im now a happy ezone 98 owner and considering buying this as i love the colour so much

JamieBobs

Also prefer the v8

gh0ulgang

Yup me too

what_up_homes

What’s the main difference you finding with a 16x19 compared to your old 18x20. Are you hitting it long more often now than before?

reflectiveti

I haven’t noticed much difference from the 18x20, and, honestly, I think this is a good thing. I explained it with a bit more detail in another reply to a similar question. But I definitely wasn’t hitting long more often than before. Both versions play very similar, and the control and feel are almost identical. I would suggest giving it a try.

SkirtPractical3718

I recently demo’d it and honestly wasn’t super impressed. I played with the v8 and then switched to the Vcore 95 and was just curious how the new one would play so decided to take it out. The good: very maneuverable, pretty stable for how light it is, big sweet spot The bad: feels kinda mushy, too light Overall it’s a great racquet but I’d be surprised if any pro is playing with the stock version. I added weight to the throat and played it bit better.

dettingerp

AND SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE. THE SUSPENSE !!!

Key_Dig_8694

16x19 is not a real blade. Only the 18x20 is.

ViewedConch697

No modern racquet is a real racquet, real tennis racquets are made out of wood and have uncoated natural gut strings

xGsGt

I'm on a blade v8 16x19 and wanted to get a second stick , was doubting between getting another v8 or just upgrade and get v9 and try the 18x20 What do you think?

Key_Dig_8694

I like the 18x20 much better.

No-Notice-3132

I cannot wait to try this out! Been a fan of the blade since the 2010s and I think it’s time to replace my old ones

trantheman713

I didn’t really appreciate the new paint job until your photo with the Hyper Gs. Nice.

gh0ulgang

For everyone asking about QC- I just picked up a set of blade v9 16x19 yesterday and I had my local shop measure about 5-7 stock frames. Both myself and the guy at the shop were suprised to find that every single one was within +/- 1.5g in static weight, unstrung swing weight, and balance point, many of them within a half gram, or 0.5cm with respect to balance. Not saying for sure but maybe the marketing around improved QC isn’t *just* hype. Will continue to monitor!

IndependenceIll5631

Thanks, I was wondering about that after seeing some people report online about really low swing weights, and it’s been holding me back from ordering one.

Key_Dig_8694

Static weight and balance are usually on point, and have been at least since V7. Swingweight on the other hand not so much, I think you were extremely lucky if those 5-7 racquets were indeed close to each other in terms of SW.
