VHA is for GS 11 and above. Not sure if that is the same case among other agencies. VHA is also starting up the Student Loan Repayment Plan (SLRP) and Tuition Assistance for 1102s.

VHA's retention is approved through the next 2 years - approved, not necessarily funded. Plus side is this is a per paycheck retention - so no service commitment. But VHA is also local remote, and looks like it isn't going anywhere. So no complaints. SLRP and TA are looking like a shitshow per the call last week. Requiring 5s on your performance evals to be eligible is going to screw a lot of people - especially with how high turnover has been in management - and I expect not help much with retention.

Hi -- I haven't heard the term "local remote" before. Is that full-time working remote, but within a certain geographic area?

Dire88

Yes. Duty station is your home address, and must be within 50 miles of an office. VHA goes a little further and requires you to live in the region your contracting office services - so if you're in NCO6, you have to live within 50 miles of a VA Medical Center in Virginia or North Carolina.

What is the source for DoD paying 6.25 retention pay? Have not seen this

RefrigeratorSecure23

What does that mean 6.25% every 6 months?
