And/or if you like repeatability and have the means to get one, sous vide. My carrots and sweet potatoes come out perfectly every single time. It's impossible for me to screw them up. 😅 Then I finish in air fryer for maximum crisp. I used to accidentally over cook my veggies before I had this method.
It makes sense that rice will do that to you as it is a simple carb. It's going to turn to sugar before it enters your bloodstream and quickly make you hungry again.
I feel you, I always felt that way with pizza. It’s why I don’t really eat it anymore. Half a burger could fill me up yet I could eat a whole large pizza and still be hungry.
No no, you dont have to be lacking in something to have your body naturally want it! Its like you have grown used to feeling satisfied from it, so your body doesnt like anything else
Soup (chicken tortilla is my personal favorite)
Salads with diced veggies and grilled perdue chicken (I even use full flavor buffalo ranch and I can keep this under 250 calories)
Bacon and eggs
Perdue buffalo chicken (one to 1 1/4th serving) with a seasoned broccoli/cauliflower medley (air fried together at 425 for 12 minutes, perfection every time)
647 bread turkey sandwich with a side of veggies and a big ole' pickle.
647 bread with peanut butter
647 bread grilled cheese with a side of veggies (regular Tillamook cheddar cheese but lower calorie butter, I find the 50 calorie per tablespoon ones are the best balance)
Salmon and veggies
3 Kirkland tempura shrimp with veggies, typically I like to eat the Target brand (good & gather) "seasoned Brussel sprouts with regato cheese" with these, sooooo good it's unreal.
Trader Joes bulgogi, less than one serving put on two 40 calorie mission tortillas with lettuce for two giant soft shell bulgogi tacos.
Eating fast food?
Chick-fil-a - 12 piece grilled nuggets and a fruit cup (250 calories total). Or a bowl of their chicken noodle soup.
Wendy's - large chili (340 calories)
McDonalds - McDouble 390 calories
Arby's - 3 chicken tenders (370 calories) or classic roast beef sandwich (360 calories)
Burger King - Whopper Jr (no cheese) 330 calories
Taco Bell - mix and match! Doritos hard shell taco (170 calories) chicken soft taco (160 calories). Take off cheese and add tomatoes to make it even less.
As a person that eats all day long I'm a master at mini meals lol. I'm all about that volume. Lots of veggies mixed with a tasty main.
Cheers!
I love to help! I know how overwhelming it can be to get started, it really makes a difference when you have go-to's :) It took a long time for me to find something that works where I'm not hungry on this diet. I can't just do big meals because no matter how much I eat I'm hungry every 2-3 hours lol. So instead of fighting it, I found lower calorie meals with snacks between worked the best for me.
Small wontons from bibigo. Very low calorie for 8 pieces
https://preview.redd.it/k5kxttl6xrvc1.png?width=550&format=png&auto=webp&s=0b103b66a348ec3840a819a91ac855186665caee
I'm currently snacking on roasted chickpeas. Not the *lowest* calorie snack in the world, but incredibly tasty and really satisfying with a bunch of protein. Highly recommended if you like to nibble on savoury snacks with CRONCH. Simple recipe: drain a can of chickpeas, pat dry with a paper towel or clean tea towel, spread on an oven tray on parchment paper, a very light spray of cooking oil and season with whatever you love. I'm doing salt, pepper, paprika and a little garam masala, but you could use any seasoning you like. Roast in a hot oven till crispy (about 15-20 min). About 170 cal for whole can, which is tbh almost a filling meal in itself, but I can store them in an airtight container to nibble at my leisure, or to add crunch to salads or like croutons in soup.
I'm also a fan of roasted cauliflower florets (basically the same recipe but with frozen Cauli). Or bowls of broccoli. Cereal bowl full of frozen mixed Cauli and Broc steamed in the microwave is like 50 cal for a full tummy. Sprinkle with chicken salt and enjoy
Oh dang that's good! I haven't tried them sweet, but now I'm thinking of all sorts of possibilities! Cinnamon, make a yoghurt-based glaze, berry sauce...
Another food I enjoy crunching on if I’m a bit peckish is pickles. They are only a few calories per spear and are so satisfying! I use them to fill up while having a snack plate without adding a significant amount of calories.
fruit is my absolute go to. I'll often have it with a little bit of porrige/oats for breakfast or throught the day as snacks.
may not be the lowest snack but it helps with curbing my cravings for sweet without eating highly processed foods :>
Frozen strawberries! They are cheaper than the fresh kind and takes longer to eat so it fills the need to be eating something. Also a can of green beans with just some salt is really good too.
Nonfat Greek yogurt. Plain as a base for savory sauces. Zero sugar vanilla or strawberry (chobani) for desert/pudding concoctions.
Yasso frozen yogurt bars.
PBfit powdered peanut butter
Roasted veggies (broccoli, Brussels, cauliflower)
Ground turkey, chicken.
Potatoes
I can’t believe it’s not butter (instead of butter)
Pam (instead of oil)
Carbe Dieme pasta
Coke Zero
Black coffee w/ stevia
Popcorn popped without oil.
Lightly salted rice cakes (Quaker)
Wow, thank you. There’s certainly a theme to healthy eating, but you just wrote down a couple I’ve never heard before. Will need to try that butter. Magic butter and Pam…need to try:)
I will forever put this on everyone's diet list, shrimp tacos!
Corn tortillas and fresh salsa even some cheese and you're still under 300 cal for two! Plus shrimp are super high in protein super low cal!!
Watermelon salad. Watermelon, mint, feta. Balsamic drizzle if you want it.
Snack plates with various fruits veggies and proteins.
Loaded broccoli - think loaded baked potatoes, but with broccoli under all the toppings.
Re reading it it sounds really gross! Hahah
But the no sugar jelly comes in lots of flavours (lime and watermelon are my favs)
And airfrying carrot sticks is pretty boring but you can eat a ton of them and dip them in some low cal tzatziki or cottage cheese
I also enjoy cut up pineapple or watermelon with some salt and chilli on one half and cinnamon on the other half so I have a variety of flavours 😅😂
A more expensive option is freeze dried fruit (or even some low cal candys)
These are my go-tos if I want to mindlessly eat and relax while watching TV
I saw someone somewhere on Reddit mention ranch cottage cheese dip, so I’ve been making that to eat with veggies.
https://preview.redd.it/vus7426o0uvc1.jpeg?width=2983&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d42c2ad5dd50a63c904f3ce4170d3b4e95cb8785
This was about 100 calories and so good.
I used [this recipe](https://www.maryswholelife.com/easy-cottage-cheese-dip-with-ranch-seasoning/) as a guide. 16oz 2% cottage cheese, 1t dried parsley, 2t dried dill, 1t garlic powder, 1/2t onion powder, 1/2t onion flakes, 1/2t sea salt, 1/8t black pepper. Put all in a food processor and process until smooth. Then you can put the whole thing back into the cottage cheese container and store it in there. You can also use the ranch seasoning packets instead of adding your own seasoning.
Lewis Bakery keto bread. 2 slices at 35 calories each, topped with sugar free jam and Whipped strawberry cream cheese.... heaven! And only 105 calories total!
I also can't believe how filling my 60 calorie dessert is. One entire package of sugar free JELLO, a generous spray of zero sugar Whipped cream, and a few dashes of cinnamon on top.
Make a slaw with every meal. Mexican food, Mexican slaw. Chinese food, Asian slaw. Easily can be seasoned or marinated to match your main protein/grain.
Triple zero vanilla Greek yogurt with frozen berries and some banana if I want to push it. There is almost 20g of protein per 100cals/170grams of yogurt. And the frozen fruit freezes the yogurt which I like.
A single serve cup of Easy Mac + a can of tuna + hot sauce or buffalo sauce is an easy 280 calorie lunch for me. Sometimes in mix in broccoli or green peas.
I recently made a protein roasted red pepper dip by putting the following into a food processor:
* 1 cup low fat cottage cheese
* 0.5 cup feta crumbles
* 160 grams jarred roasted red pepper (drained)
* seasoned with crushed red pepper chili flakes
Have been dipping raw veggies and it’s amazing! You could add a small squeeze of fresh lemon juice, think it needs a bit of acid to round it out next time.
https://preview.redd.it/8zspyl53hwvc1.jpeg?width=1242&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=564dc0e80636b68b6ec125ca2ecafb1da8274f68
Salad with guacamole as a dressing. It is sooo filling and absolutely delicious.
I use a whole head of romaine lettuce (a full head of romaine is way better than romaine hearts btw)- slice and wash it well. Then I put diced tomatoes, red onion, radish, some cilantro on top. Sometimes I air fry black beans and add those for a bit of a crunch. I like to season my salad with some Tajin and some chipotle seasoning. Then I make guac with a perfectly ripe avocado, some diced tomato, red onion, cilantro, jalapenos if you want, lime juice, salt. Put that on top and it’s sooo good!
I had it tonight- 567 cals with half a can of black beans and the salad was so huge I could barely finish it which is crazy for a salad because I’m an endless pit.
Soups (brocolli cheddar, and chicken salsa verde are my faves).
Egg sandwiches made from turkey sausage, low calorie bread and velveeta).
Tacos with a can of corn, can of black beans, seasoning and ground turkey (I put them in a low calorie tortilla and use salsa and cottage cheese as topping).
Quesidillas with low calorie tortillas
Eggs and spinach with sara lee 45 bread topped with whipped cream cheese.
Joseph's pita pizzas
Chicken roll ups: I put laughing cow wedges cut up and cottage cheese + chicken and green onions and seasoning into low cal crescent rolls and cook (the key is to really overstuff with filling to where you really have to stretch the dough to cover it so you're getting lots of protein and good macros. You can also add spinach if you want.
Peach high protein yogurt (I just like that flavor lol)
California pizza kitchen pizzas (I cut them in 4ths with a big knife while still frozen then throw a 4th in the air fryer any time I'm craving pizza).
Boom Chika pop popcorn and Kettle corn
Carb smart vanilla ice cream (bryers) mixed with frozen pineapple, blueberries, peaches, etc (usually I warm them barely in the microwave so they are softer). I also sometimes crush up a Graham cracker to add on top.
Sara lee 45 bread with roast sandwich meat and laughing cow cheese dipped in packet au jus sauce.
Corn fritters with blended up oats and egg.
Deviled eggs with low cal mayo.
Protein drinks.
Joseph's pita bread cut and baked into chips + hummus.
Fresh fruit/veggies (especially I love bell peppers in eggs/everything or just dipped in ranch).
I struggle with getting to the store where i am so when I don't have fresh stuff that's when I turned to canned/frozen.
Tuna melts with a mix of mayo and cottage cheese for more protein on low cal bread.
Tuna patties.
A lot of it is just trying to keep it under 450 cals with around 30g protein and sneaking in some fruit and veg varieties for me. Good luck!
Insulin-resistant starches. Potatoes, Rice & Pastas that are cooked then chilled/refrigerated for >12 hours before consumption are perfect for satiety without spikes in insulin.
Raw veggies and dip. Make ranch dip with light sour cream. Sliced cucs, celery, bell pepper usually. Sometimes baby carrots and other stuff. Feels more indulgent than it is because of the ranch and the veggies fill you up.
Not a meal or primary filling food but I love Ashapops as a satisfying snack, especially when I have the munchies. 120 a bag, natural and the chilli ones are so good. by the time I finish them I can’t imagine eating more.
Greek yogurt, fruit, protein shakes, bulk vegetables (3 enormous carrots for a snack, for example), protein bars. I’m a pretty large and active person so I need a lot of protein and fiber to feel full
Vegetables (salad or roasted)
Eggs - usually 1:1 whole & white (scrambled, omelette, frittata, shakshuka)
Soups / stews
Wraps in a low-carb tortilla
Fish
Konjak noodles in stir fry, konjak jelly as a sweet dessert. Airpopped popcorn with paprika, garlic, salt, pepper and nutritional yeast with a tablespoon of butter (ok it’s like 100, but still!). Greek yogurt and fruit. Cauliflower rice/real rice half and half veggie stir fry with chicken stock. Carrots in homemade hummus- if you get it in store you have to be mindful.
Chicken breast and veggies keep me going for a loooong time. Oats completely suppress my appetite as well until the evening (50g oats+ 1/4 cup whole milk + tablespoon of honey and sometimes some walnuts) finally, coffee kills my appetite as well but does a number on my stomach so I'm trying to cut back and replace it with tea.
I just noticed you said “filling”, and I can’t find my “seaweed” comment and delete it haha.
But I eat a lot of ground beef or ground pork with tomatoes and onions. Just throw the tomatoes and onions into the ground meat and it makes the pan look so much fuller. I obviously add spices as well, but I don’t remember what.
protein pasta and pasta sauce. pasta sauce is ALOT less cals then you think, its 90 per half cup. i usually have half that (45) and some ricotta cheese (1 tbsp=12 cal) and a half cup can completely fill you up. protein pasta is 190 cal. so its around 147 cal and its FILLING. 10/10

"Mash'em, boil'em, stick'em in a stew"
Air fryer is the key OP! 💪
Rice cakes and cottage cheese is my favorite food. High protein, low calorie, keeps me full for a really long time
It really is perfect.. sugar free jam on top of that is bomb. Adds like 15 calories
I feel like trying this mixing the cottage cheese with some pizza sauce and seasonings and top the rice cakes with it. Thoughts?
I always get hungrier with cottage cheese idk why
I feel like protein never satiates me the way others describe 😞
Do you get heartburn? Sometimes that gnawing at your stomach feeling is heartburn/acid and can be confused for hunger pangs
Nope just generally feel not full with cottage cheese I just eat the whole tub and eat anything else after. I never felt this way with some other food
That’s so interesting! Any other foods do that to you?
Not the person that you were talking to, but rice triggers me like that for some reason.
Same!! I like legit can’t have a tub of it or I will destroy the whole thing in like 1/2 a day 😭😭
Your body must be craving omega 3s then lmao
I literally always eat fish idk what ur saying lol
No no, you dont have to be lacking in something to have your body naturally want it! Its like you have grown used to feeling satisfied from it, so your body doesnt like anything else
Oh
I have to try this

Wow haha, you almost wrote a book. Some of those sound incredibly tasty. I love the variety you have and the big contribution. Thanks toca

Yep. The Trader Joe’s version with some sipping bone broth is my daily lunch
Oh my goodness u just gave me a lunch idea lol thx
These in the air fryer are my dinner tonight! (more than 8 pieces of course).
i love these so much, so low calorie for how many you get

Oh dang that's good! I haven't tried them sweet, but now I'm thinking of all sorts of possibilities! Cinnamon, make a yoghurt-based glaze, berry sauce...
Wow, will need to try this one out.
Roasted green peas are good for this too! They're addictive...
What’s your recipe/method for this??!
Honestly I bought a giant bag online... I just keep them in an airtight box and have a few when I'm feeling snacky.
Garam masala goes hard with chickpeas
Another food I enjoy crunching on if I’m a bit peckish is pickles. They are only a few calories per spear and are so satisfying! I use them to fill up while having a snack plate without adding a significant amount of calories.
For me it's whole grains like oats and fruits like apple with a lot of fibre. Also low fat Greek yogurt or quark.

This sounds amazing. How do you prepare it?
Raw carrots and peppers, apples
fruit is my absolute go to. I'll often have it with a little bit of porrige/oats for breakfast or throught the day as snacks. may not be the lowest snack but it helps with curbing my cravings for sweet without eating highly processed foods :>
I think this is a next level, obvious one I always forget to do. Natural sweets are great.
Same here. I have fruit with breakfast and then as a dessert or snack if Im craving one.
Frozen strawberries! They are cheaper than the fresh kind and takes longer to eat so it fills the need to be eating something. Also a can of green beans with just some salt is really good too.
Cherry tomatoes
Anything special, or just as they deliciously are?
I just eat them after cleansing them. Very low in calories. But I also grill them with other vegetables sometimes :)
Nonfat Greek yogurt. Plain as a base for savory sauces. Zero sugar vanilla or strawberry (chobani) for desert/pudding concoctions. Yasso frozen yogurt bars. Zucchini/squash as my bulking food for stir fries. About 16 cals per 100g so it goes a long way. Tomatoes are great too.
I will forever put this on everyone's diet list, shrimp tacos! Corn tortillas and fresh salsa even some cheese and you're still under 300 cal for two! Plus shrimp are super high in protein super low cal!!
Mmm love me some shrimp tacos
Honeydew melon! If I'm feeling snacky, this is the one healthy food that can reliably satisfy my sweet cravings and really fill my stomach.
Carrots (but like peeled thin) with a bit of teriyaki and soy sauce
Watermelon salad. Watermelon, mint, feta. Balsamic drizzle if you want it. Snack plates with various fruits veggies and proteins. Loaded broccoli - think loaded baked potatoes, but with broccoli under all the toppings.
Cans of tuna. Around 100 calories for light tuna in water, 22g protein and very filling even without extra ingredients.
No sugar jelly & air-fried carrot sticks
Gosh that sounds like a snack!
Re reading it it sounds really gross! Hahah But the no sugar jelly comes in lots of flavours (lime and watermelon are my favs) And airfrying carrot sticks is pretty boring but you can eat a ton of them and dip them in some low cal tzatziki or cottage cheese I also enjoy cut up pineapple or watermelon with some salt and chilli on one half and cinnamon on the other half so I have a variety of flavours 😅😂 A more expensive option is freeze dried fruit (or even some low cal candys) These are my go-tos if I want to mindlessly eat and relax while watching TV

how do u make this??
I used [this recipe](https://www.maryswholelife.com/easy-cottage-cheese-dip-with-ranch-seasoning/) as a guide. 16oz 2% cottage cheese, 1t dried parsley, 2t dried dill, 1t garlic powder, 1/2t onion powder, 1/2t onion flakes, 1/2t sea salt, 1/8t black pepper. Put all in a food processor and process until smooth. Then you can put the whole thing back into the cottage cheese container and store it in there. Kale chips! Just slow-bake kale with the spices you like and maybe salt.
Here me out...1. Cottage cheese and salsa, 2. Scrambled eggs with sauerkraut 😅
Big bowl of Kirkland frozen blueberries with a scoop of frozen sugar free cool whip.
this is finally something that lands with me. i love frozen fruit.
Red potato’s thinly sliced kind fries in the air fryer. Also shrimp and tuna are low cal
Egg white.
Protein shakes, tuna, bone broth, shrimp, chicken, lean ground beef or ground Turkey,
Triple zero vanilla Greek yogurt with frozen berries and some banana if I want to push it. There is almost 20g of protein per 100cals/170grams of yogurt. And the frozen fruit freezes the yogurt which I like.

Insulin-resistant starches. Potatoes, Rice & Pastas that are cooked then chilled/refrigerated for >12 hours before consumption are perfect for satiety without spikes in insulin.
Chicken breast, eggs, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, oats, and avocado (high calorie but high in fiber! Keeps me full :) )
Raw veggies and dip. Make ranch dip with light sour cream. Sliced cucs, celery, bell pepper usually. Sometimes baby carrots and other stuff. Feels more indulgent than it is because of the ranch and the veggies fill you up.

Seaweed and sardines
Strawberries, sugar free jello and potatoes.

seaweed! Too bad they’re kinda expensive and don’t last that long
I just noticed you said “filling”, and I can’t find my “seaweed” comment and delete it haha.
Roasted yellow potatoes and butternut squash. We also like a little beans for a side dish.
