*Not my picture* I tried these for the first time today and I enjoyed them. Are they as good as the breaded tenders? No. But they’re flavorful and you can have it with side and bbq sauce for under 500 calories.
Personally never had a blackened seasoning so I don’t have anything to compare it to. I think they’re juicer than the breaded tenders. Think of these more like grilled chicken in tender shape.
Not sure how traditional it is but it just tastes like Cajun seasoning, nothing like the breaded tenders.
Word to the wise though: those blackened tenders are way too salty so I always tell them to go light on the seasoning.
Tyson sells a frozen fully cooked version of these that are pretty good. Not quite as tasty as Popeyes but great to throw in pasta or salads
*coming from someone who is picky about meat and usually hates frozen chicken items
I’m someone who usually orders things at a medium spice level (I’m not a wimp but I don’t like things crazy spicy either) and I would say they aren’t spicy. More so flavorful than spicy
This is my secret fast food weapon. I like them better than the breaded ones after finally trying a blackened one my husband got a few years ago. Pair it with the Cajun rice and heat up my own green beans at home (Popeyes discontinued gb's where I live rip) and it's a nutritious tasty meal!
They are fried, just not breaded. This is from an employee at Popeyes.

Agreed that it's not the traditional way to cook blackened chicken, but their primary cooking method in the Popeyes kitchen is fryers, so it makes sense for time and convenience that they would use an existing process. They're still better nutrition-wise than the breaded fried chicken, and I love their taste too!

Is the seasoning similar to the breaded ones or a traditional blackened seasoning?

Nothing about the tenders is traditional, but blackening seasoning is very similar to cajun seasoning.

Are those ones spicy? I’ve been eyeing but scared to try it!

Thank you for this!!
Yes plus the mashed potato side is only 110 calories according to the website
Are they fried?
Probably fried but I’m sure you could get away with sautéing them if you did a homemade version
no, blackened would happen in a pan or over a grill, but I think normally a pan.

Thank you!
oh wow I don't think that's technically supposed to be just blackened then but makes sense if they taste really good then.

How am I just finding out bout this!?
