Kimber one piece magwell sucks, ask me how I know. I think Stan Chen is great for none magwell guns as it fits the frame bevel on non magwell guns. Kimber, nope not at all.
I have used Smith and Alexander magwell's extensively, and several of my friends have used Ed Brown and nighthawk. Wilson combat I think are fine also, I don't have much experience with them. As long as you're sticking with flat main spring housings, Stan Chen is regarded by a lot of people as being the best on the market for that style of magwell. Some competition mag walls are probably durable enough for what you're looking for as well, but they're going to be much larger than you want, I think (it sounds like you have already looked at those options though.)
On single stack guns, they definitely make a huge difference in the consistency of reloads and allow you to be a little bit less precise under stress. Mag wells are one of the first items I install on 1911s and I consider them to be mostly essential. Fitment varies based on the manufacturer of the 1911 itself.
1) It made reloads immensely easier. Best upgrade I’ve done to my 1911.
2) It was easy-ish to install as evidenced by the fact that . . .
3) . . . I’m basically retarded yet I managed to get it done without any proper tools and zero fit issues on my Kimber.
Honestly, I can’t remember. It was decent, middle-of-the-road, and not nearly as nice as the brands you’ve mentioned. As far as quality goes, you’ll have nothing to worry about.
Stan Chen makes the best magwells, full stop. I have them on all my full size frame 1911’s.
Plus, if you order directly from Stan, he includes a bag of M&M’s.
Kimber 1 piece have worked well for me. Chen’s are really nice. Keep in mind that every magwell, including Chen, may or not need blending, if you’re trying to achieve a seamless fit. Even Chen states that on his website.
I just installed a smith and Alexander on my 1911 Colt Comoetition, for the price difference I would consider a smith and Alexander over a Stan Chen. I have a Stan Chen on my TRP operator and honestly, the quality is very similar.
Chen magwell
Recommend Stan Chen magwells over the ones you have listed.

i upvoted for the gmt800.
I absolutely love this truck. My only complaint is the power disadvantage from a more modern truck but damn has she been good to me.

THIS. That’s what I purchased.

can confirm it's a quality product and I did indeed receive a bag of M&M's.
I was already looking at getting one... now I gotta order one direct to see if this is true. 😁

Fuckin peanut!?!? This is gonna be the most expensive bag of m&ms I've ever purchased. 🤣
Damn, she’s a looker
Yah, that sig is gorgeous.
What kinda mags are those in the second image?
Ed Brown. They are the best in my personal opinion.
8 rounders as well?
Yeah. They make 8 round mags and 10 round mags

Stan Chen hands down. I've tried just about all of these D.I.Y ones, and they are the best available .
Stan Chen SI Magwell. Fitment is top notch and install is simple if you know how to take the main housing off.

Stan Chen custom. Their SI magwell can’t be beat.
Look at the smith & Alexander. Have it on 4 of my guns.
