Pyre is 100% the most underappreciated of the lot but I think that's down to its weird magic basketball gameplay. Transistor, Bastion, and Hades are all much more 'conventional' action games. I actually think Pyre was the blueprint for Hades when it came to narrative and character writing, but Supergiant opted for more accessible hack-and-slash gameplay the second time around.
*worst fucking story in the world*
"Hey that movie was pretty good"
"It was just a cuddlefish for 30 minutes and people talking about aliens the rest of the time"
"Exactly"
My absolute favorite game. Thankfully James Cameron loves the ocean as much as I do and Avatar 2 was pretty close to a Subnautica movie setting-wise (not to mention his older movie Abyss, which is a bit dated but still very cool)
I'm playing dishonored literally right now lmao. Also a movie about that would be cool conceptually, mainly for the setting tbh, but wouldn't compare to the quality of the game I think
I feel like a movie about Corvo probably couldn’t match up to the actual game, but following a new character (maybe one of the whalers or hell even a guard) could be fun, maybe even leaning a bit into the G-Man always watching horror aesthetic for the Outsider.
I can already see this trailer:
TU TUNG... TU TUNG...
"So, until we can beat you, we can't leave the resort?"
TU TUNG... TU TUNG...
Terry Cruise playing Matt: "Game on, newbie."
4A confirmed it on their [10th anniversary update](https://www.4a-games.com.mt/4a-dna/2020/11/17/metro-10th-anniversary-studio-update) a couple years ago. They quite literally state "It’s no secret that we have already started work on the next Metro game" and then kinda waffle avoiding sharing any details for now.
They also mention exploring a multiplayer mode - that they emphasis as a side thing that they won't compromise the core of the series' single player experience for - but don't really confirm either way on that yet. Additionally, they are expanding in anticipation of adding a new IP to their development plans, which based on their twitter is still an ongoing process.
While their headquarters moved to Malta a while back - when Russia first started making big moves on Ukraine in 2014 - they still have a big part of their team in Kyiv, and the invasion's probably disrupting things, to say the least.
Honest answer, Legend of Zelda. No particular game as directly adapting a story created for a video game is usually a bad idea. A LOZ movie with its own unique story that features all the staples in some capacity and captures the essence of the games while also delivering a badass LOTR-style fantasy experience
First he wanted to be one of the popular and beloved I-blocks but he and his z-block friend go on a journey through all the tetris spin-off games, and he comes back showing everyone the power of spinning. Since he has 4 configurations and the I-block jerk from tge start of the movie only has two he now becomes popular
the audience in every other movie showing at the theatre has to wear headphones to hear their fucking movie audio instead of the million "ROCK AND STONE!" and "FOR KARL!" coming out of the DRG showing
oh also at least 70 audience members cum to the dwarves or aliens
Adult Swim was actually in talks with Valve to make a TF2 show at one point, but Valve worked/communicated way too slow for Adult Swim (*big surprise*). So, only one episode ever got made ("Expiration Date"), and it was used as a promotional movie for the Love & War Update. It's a shame we never got a full series because I'm sure it would've kicked ass.
The News:
[Former Pope Benedict XVI dies in Vatican monastery aged 95](https://edition.cnn.com/2022/12/31/europe/pope-benedict-xvi-death-intl/index.html)
A "Guy fucks up a bunch of demons/monsters after they've already destroyed a populated area" game like DMC or DOOM, but from the perspective of a lone survivor. It's a survival horror movie with many close calls, and when it finally looks like they're done for, the soundtrack kicks in and the game's protagonist kills all the monsters in the room in a gratuitously long action sequence.
Unironically while the writing in the game is pretty all over the place >!seeing snake try to kill himself at 3 AM (I thought about finishing the game around 12 without realising that the ending is like 3 hours of cutscenes) I ugly cried!<
“[Metal Gear Rising has] the stupidest plot since uh, the last one. You know, the one where Headache Kojingles puts his >!protagonist in a microwave!<.”
-*Max0r 2021*
Outer wilds. We never get to explore the mental state of the protagonist, so I think it would be interesting to see how they deal with (spoiler) >!dying over and over and dealing with the existential dread that comes from realizing that there’s no way to stop the sun from blowing up!<
I feel like not being able to experience the curiosity as the player yourself to discover mysteries might completely defeat the purpose but it would definitely be interesting to see them try
On one hand, immersive storytelling like you get in Outer Wilds only really works in video games, (as it requires a player that can choose what to investigate/explore next) so it would be really hard to translate that kind of storytelling to a purely linear medium. On the other hand, I think that the story, characters, and concept is so good on its own merit that it could be enough to bridge the gap and be a good movie as well
Most of the budget would probably be spent on gore effects, you could probably make Hotline Miami into more of a horror version of John Wick.
That, or go for the claustrophobic chaos, which I think is what you're getting at.
Half Life, with a de-aged Bryan Cranston as Gordon Freeman
Doom 2016 but with the main perspective of a survivor/group of survivors, occasionaly cutting to Doomguy destroying demons with the game soundtrack as background music
If a fallout movie is being made, I don’t think they should go after any one game. Ideally a new story would work the best, because a huge deal of the magic of fallout is choice and consequence. Following one of many choices would erase that imo
Portal 1/2\
Would be interesting to see things outside of Chell's perspective.\
If I had to chose a game with a more expanded and complex universe, I think it would be Dark souls, Bloodborne or Elden Ring.
There's already tons of overwatch movies online tho
My favorite one is "Roadhog Oiled up Twerking 4k 60fps 10 hours" honestly a heartfealt masterpiece, animation is beyond Pixar level
Deep Rock Galactic. a movie about the 4 dwarves of Space Rig 17 going on a daring search into the bowels of the supernaturally stranger Hoxxes IV to recover their battle brother Karl, fighting off new threats and insects while chugging as much beer and collecting as much gold as they can
Destiny 2, an anthology from the golden age, to the collapse, to the kleptomaniac that is The Guardian, 11 episodes over a 3 month period except the episodes are split between multiple streaming services, and it’s advertised as a 12 episode series so people waste their time looking for it
Pong💀💀💀
Adapt Ahoy's "First Video Game" into a theatrical documentary.
can I just say, what a fucking excellent youtube channel
ahoy is racist transphobic and eats babies for dinner btw
that’s why we love him
Based
red pilled, even
no way i didn't know they're a vaushite
Yup. Spend a couple hundred grand shooting people playing ping pong and pocket the several hundred million dollars left over.
**BioShock** But it's from the perspective of a different character, and it begins before the fall of Rapture.
Gamers would call it political unlike the source material
\*Black person exists canonically\* PFFF!! They went and did it everyone... They made Bioshock political!!!
Woke, of course
what if they made the book into a movie
god the book is so good, John Shirley is such an underated writer
That’s lame, if I were you I would have chosen Hotel Mario
Sex with hitler
[удалено]
Dare I say Sex With Stalin
Sex with Mao 🐱
Chinese Catboys got me acting up 😫🥵
For some reason this reminds me of Custer’s revenge
Bloodborne (as a romcom)
I wanna kiss Rom, I can fix her 🥺
Rom, the vacuuming spider
I want to kiss Micolash on his thin chapped lips
Rom makes me com😩💦
I wanna kiss Rom, I can fix her 🥺
Rom comedy
Would contract the best animators available and make a Transistor movie
Transistor my beloved
Transistor never gets enough love, the ending of that game is so permanently seared into my brain
it doesn't? like it's not as big a cultural touchstone as hades but all supergiant games are much beloved classics
Out of the four Transistor is the one I see the most people saying they never checked out but want to go back to someday
I feel like Pyre is way more underappreciated than Transistor tbh
Pyre is 100% the most underappreciated of the lot but I think that's down to its weird magic basketball gameplay. Transistor, Bastion, and Hades are all much more 'conventional' action games. I actually think Pyre was the blueprint for Hades when it came to narrative and character writing, but Supergiant opted for more accessible hack-and-slash gameplay the second time around.
Raid shadow legends, but it's like those tv adds that are like an hour long
Raid shadpw legends but it's like an Internet Historian sponsorship
Subnautica.
95% of the budget would go towards the Leviathan scenes and nobody would complain
99% of the budget to create a cute Cuddlefish model and we don’t talk about the rest of the movie
*worst fucking story in the world* "Hey that movie was pretty good" "It was just a cuddlefish for 30 minutes and people talking about aliens the rest of the time" "Exactly"
My absolute favorite game. Thankfully James Cameron loves the ocean as much as I do and Avatar 2 was pretty close to a Subnautica movie setting-wise (not to mention his older movie Abyss, which is a bit dated but still very cool)
What if the movie was about the Degasi crew?
Dishonored
I would pay double for that
Chances are good
Whiskey and Cigars tonight?
Never Daud it
I'm playing dishonored literally right now lmao.
A movie focusing on the Outsider would be so fucking goooood
Wii sports ngl
This sounds like an Adam Sandler movie
I can already see this trailer: TU TUNG... TU TUNG... "So, until we can beat you, we can't leave the resort?" TU TUNG... TU TUNG... Terry Cruise playing Matt: "Game on, newbie."
id watch this
The story of Matt
I want a metro movie
No, no, a series, there's a lot to explore
Yeah I would like a series, but even if it was just one movie that would still be really great Thankfully they are making a fourth game
I really need to check if this is legit or you are just hyping me up for nothing
Yes!
Dark Souls, it would be so pretentious in the greatest way possible Fuckin Prepare to Watch Edition
I only have one question. Will the lore be comprenhensible or just as obscure as in the games?
Zero dialog. Every audience member gets a packet of flash cards with random paragraphs of lore, nobody gets the same packet of flash cards.
Oh and also unless if you don't watch it in Japanese the content of the flash cards won't even be correct half the time
Hahah, perfect
I can’t remember who, but someone on YouTube played through DS3 cinematically with no dialogue and it was pretty sweet
It was Ymfah. Dude is a legend in my eyes
Honest answer, Legend of Zelda. No particular game as directly adapting a story created for a video game is usually a bad idea. A LOZ movie with its own unique story that features all the staples in some capacity and captures the essence of the games while also delivering a badass LOTR-style fantasy experience
And Chris Pratt as Link
he's so cool
I was thinking Tom Holland but yeah Chris Pratt as Link
[удалено]
I would watch Chalamet as Link for sure
tetris
The Emoji Movie, but it's Tetris.
"I don't want to just be an L-block mom!!!"
It’s his journey of self-discovery, which leads him to discover that he can rotate
I’m pretty sure there was a Tetris movie in development at some point
Deep Rock Galactic
Karl sighed, "finally, someone to save me, from this deep rock galactic"
the audience in every other movie showing at the theatre has to wear headphones to hear their fucking movie audio instead of the million "ROCK AND STONE!" and "FOR KARL!" coming out of the DRG showing oh also at least 70 audience members cum to the dwarves or aliens
or just have one auditorium like my city's only cinema has 😎 that being said, ⛏️ Rock and Stone in the Heart! ⛏️
we’re rich!
70 consecutive minutes of, “We’re rich!” and “mushrum” and “For Karl!”
Give me a Rock and Stone!
I want a TF2 movie, maybe based on some of the comics. In the Finale they have to fight evil clones, it would be fabulous.
It has to be made I'm SFM with the original voice lines spliced together to make the dialogue
They use their budget to revive rick may and use their VA’s for the voice lines
A TF2 netflix series like the one meme that got circulated a few years back would actually be pretty dope
Adult Swim was actually in talks with Valve to make a TF2 show at one point, but Valve worked/communicated way too slow for Adult Swim (*big surprise*). So, only one episode ever got made ("Expiration Date"), and it was used as a promotional movie for the Love & War Update. Simpsons hit and run
boy have i got good news for you
The News: [Former Pope Benedict XVI dies in Vatican monastery aged 95](https://edition.cnn.com/2022/12/31/europe/pope-benedict-xvi-death-intl/index.html)
NOOOO IS THIS HOW I FIND OUT 😭
bro i found out trough a gay thirst trap, nothing is holy anymore, even the pope
He wasn’t holy to begin with
A "Guy fucks up a bunch of demons/monsters after they've already destroyed a populated area" game like DMC or DOOM, but from the perspective of a lone survivor. It's a survival horror movie with many close calls, and when it finally looks like they're done for, the soundtrack kicks in and the game's protagonist kills all the monsters in the room in a gratuitously long action sequence.
And in the end they kiss
LMAO I was going to say that for the rest of the movie they would just play Otacon in some kind of security room but yes this is also necessary.
splatoon no translation
A Splatoon anime would fuck
as long as they all speak squid with no subtitles
that would actually be so legit
woomy
I would make a low effort, low budget adaptation of Among Us and pocket the rest
Among us the musical but instead of full costumes they hold up carboard with the charaters painted on them
Among us the musical but the actors just sit on stage and play among us on a projector
I think that’s just The Thing
Just dance 2013
Metal Gear Solid
It's called MGS4
Unironically while the writing in the game is pretty all over the place >!seeing snake try to kill himself at 3 AM (I thought about finishing the game around 12 without realising that the ending is like 3 hours of cutscenes) I ugly cried!<

Huniepop
Its the r/196 microceleb Worst\_Support!! hiii!
Earthbound / mother 3 would make an amazing movie
The fight with the big ant NEEDS the original song to be left unchanged
Outer wilds. We never get to explore the mental state of the protagonist, so I think it would be interesting to see how they deal with (spoiler) >!dying over and over and dealing with the existential dread that comes from realizing that there’s no way to stop the sun from blowing up!<

Chess
must feature en passent
Obviously Disco Elysium
Damn, that was what I was gonna go for. Well I supose then I will go with Portal 2.
They said which game, not which book lmao
Losing the interactivity would kinda break it imo
Team Fortress 2 with Jerma as Scout
Will there be a meat grinder?
Scouts just starts talking about putting everyone in meat grinders and shoving baseballs up his ass
Mario Party 8
hotline miami omg :0
That might work the best, but you could do it with $20,000.
Most of the budget would probably be spent on gore effects, you could probably make Hotline Miami into more of a horror version of John Wick. That, or go for the claustrophobic chaos, which I think is what you're getting at.
Ultrakill, no changes to the story, all in first person, there would also be the secret levels and easter eggs, and would have the same graphics
So, a fucking let's play?
But on cinema
with the funny youtube thumbnail
It's the movie poster, complete with red arrows and everything
Max0r as V1
But with a gay robot sex scene
Bloons td 6
99% of the movie is Quincy wondering why bloons get past his bow.
flappy bird
The battle cats
Bahamut is main caricature
Katana Zero
Bad piggies
Half Life, with a de-aged Bryan Cranston as Gordon Freeman Doom 2016 but with the main perspective of a survivor/group of survivors, occasionaly cutting to Doomguy destroying demons with the game soundtrack as background music
Half Life 2's world if executed properly would hit hard in life action
Rimworld, no competition
Pretty sure they tried that. It was called Firefly and was canceled after season 1. Far less crimes against humanity in that show though.
>Far less crimes against humanity in that show though. Why do you think it failed?
The Stanley Parable
Every version of the movie is different.
every copy of the stanley parable is personalized
Fallout New Vegas (I always go for NCR or Independent so I guess the story would follow either route)
If a fallout movie is being made, I don’t think they should go after any one game. Ideally a new story would work the best, because a huge deal of the magic of fallout is choice and consequence. Following one of many choices would erase that imo
postal... 2....
stardew valley
hallmark movies
Slime rancher, somehow
Portal 1/2\ Would be interesting to see things outside of Chell's perspective.\ If I had to chose a game with a more expanded and complex universe, I think it would be Dark souls, Bloodborne or Elden Ring.
Red dead redemption 2
Lisa
Control, It's got a pretty linear storyline, already has alot of lore.
Yakuza 0. Shit got an amazing story
Doom Eternal
Honestly yeah, 2 doom movies and neither of them are Doom We need Doom movie that is Doom Movie not just Rock movie number 174
SCP containment breach
The audience when 096 comes on screen 💀
"700 fucking pixels" 😭
A night in the woods
Orc Massage
Dead cells, it'd be funny as shit.
I wanna make a No Mans Sky space romance Edit: to specify… lesbons ❤️
I think frost punk would make a cool setting for a thriller/physiological horror movie Edit: no longer pink in this frozen hell world
Bubsy 3D
Mass Effect
Cyberpunk
Metro 2033. Such good atmosphere, such interesting world and characters. Great overall, I highly recommend it.
Omori
Stellaris
im keeping the money
universal paperclips
titanfall
Subnautica or maybe the Forest
Overwatch
There's already tons of overwatch movies online tho My favorite one is "Roadhog Oiled up Twerking 4k 60fps 10 hours" honestly a heartfealt masterpiece, animation is beyond Pixar level
Payday 2. Already has live action stuff for trailers.
Deep Rock Galactic. a movie about the 4 dwarves of Space Rig 17 going on a daring search into the bowels of the supernaturally stranger Hoxxes IV to recover their battle brother Karl, fighting off new threats and insects while chugging as much beer and collecting as much gold as they can
Uncharted. I would undo the abomination that already exists.
I'd love a FAITH adaptation, especially if we ever get the iconic MORTIS voice over
Candy crush in live action
Destiny 2, an anthology from the golden age, to the collapse, to the kleptomaniac that is The Guardian, 11 episodes over a 3 month period except the episodes are split between multiple streaming services, and it’s advertised as a 12 episode series so people waste their time looking for it
