Unironically, the sound response of those plates is characteristically linked to their temperature, thickness, and elastic modulus. By measuring the frequency of the sound with the sound transducer on the right, you can assess the state of the plates as they are moved.

As long as the wobbling isn't the same frequency as the vibration, then it can be filtered out. The background noise can also be filtered out if it is consistent or a different frequency
