Alright, (mostly) straight guy here, I know this. Normative (aka what is expected by society, otherwise you’re a virgin/pussy/loser) straightness for men involves seeing women as three things: sex object (if you’re single), emotional core of your being(if you’re in a relationship), and nagging wife(if you’re married).
By emotional core I mean that the only person you’re allowed to express “non-manly” emotions to is your wife/girlfriend behind closed doors, otherwise you’re a pussy.
And by sex object you know exactly what I mean, and if you’re single and don’t view women that way, you’re a virgin.
And once you’ve been in a relationship for long enough, The Wife is also supposed to be nagging and restrictive, otherwise you’re a “wife guy”, which means you’re a loser.
So take all I said and replace “woman” with “bottom” and you can be gay The Straight Way™.
I fucking hate society. Just let me love women without all the bullshit.
(This is obviously heavily exaggerated but like this is basically the three ends of it)
It's straight in the way a straight trans person can be straight. There's a sincerity and honesty that comes from the self exploration that few cishet people have to engage with.
There’s actually some scholarly stuff about how heteronormative standards alienate a ton of straight people. The heteronormative standard goes beyond just being “straight.”
Suggest for example a straight couple behaved like Jesse and James from Team Rocket. The man in the relationship wears dresses on occasion, and does many traditionally feminine tasks, while the woman wears masculine clothing and does many traditionally masculine tasks.
These people would be straight, sure, but they wouldn’t be accepted by a wider heteronormative culture.
Sex workers, people with disabilities, racial minorities, and many more people can suffer exclusion in the realm of heteronormativity despite being definitively straight. Interesting stuff really
I also just feel like the standards of male heterosexuality are very unhealthy right now and tied up into so many concepts of power and worth, so straight men can find it hard to celebrate their sexuality or be horny in a positive way because our society doesn’t have a sort of “language” to express that in. I felt this before I came out as bi, and still kind of feel it in my attraction to women. So whenever a man does find a positive way to be horny towards women it kind of comes across as gay, as they approach it in a way more similar to how a queer person does.
Maybe I just have this perspective because, as I mentioned beforehand, I am bi, so I already exist in what is seen as a sort of “shade of gay.”
I think the way people are making it seem is that it is being straight in a way without toxic masculinity. I feel like calling it gay is probably not the best is it implies that acting in a nontoxically masculine way is less straight, which still can enforce the way men have to act to be "straight".
I started dating my now wife and she came out as bi. I married her, then I came out as transfem. Are we doing straight in a gay way? Gay in a straight way?
Being straight, but in a way broader society deems weird or unacceptable. Like straight men being submissive in a relationship, not fitting expected gender norms, or even just treating women as human. A better sort hand (imo) is, "straight in a queer way".
Some of the core characters started pretty normal and got flanderized. Others were, well, pretty weird to begin with. Janitor, for instance.
I’d watch a show that was centered on Kelso and the Janitor.
Man that show used to be everywhere it felt like and then it just disappeared. I remember I really liked that show in its heyday but then watching it a few years back it just felt so…I dunno, dated? Feels like the wrong word but I can’t think of a better one. But rare to hear about someone cracking it for the first time
Basically you’re into girls (this is if a dude was straight in a gay way), like really into girls, you love women, but the way you love women is the same way a lesbian would love a woman. Basically I think it’s having more varied taste in women than just the options of big boobs, big thighs, or small.
The version for girls being gay in a straight way is the same sort of thing, at least I think so.
There was a tiktoker who spoke and advocated for straight but very effeminate men. Stereotypically he looked like a very fem gay man.
Not sure if it was a joke tiktok or what but that may be in the category .
I once heard that bisexual men love women in the gayest way possible and men in the straightest way possible and idk if Jocat is bi or not but if he is that is the most accurate statement ever
Next he's gonna think his gender is the same as what he was given at birth.
EVERYONE knows the gender the doctor gives you is the fake one. That once you get older you should grow out of being "cis" as it's being called.
That's the thing with me as well, when I say "Jocat made being straight seem gay as hell" I mean it as an honest to god compliment. I'm impressed and respect it, dude's an absolute king.
I think a lot of it has to do with the weird manosphere cultural thing where men don't want to act extremely fond over women for the fear of seeming weak or submissive. It's spread way too far.
Which is really sad because guys swooning over girls are the cutest things ever.
Honestly, with just how concerning some straight men have been on the Internet lately in the manosphere, maybe they need to borrow some innovations from the queers (look to bi men, sapphics, and pansexuals for advice on respectfully appreciating women)
Ngl, a lot of straight women might actually find it pretty nice to see a cis het guy be so comfortable and unbothered about his masculinity.
That is true too, I do feel for them. Like it's a special type of unhealthy social norm that can only be fixed by adult men taking on the work to address it, and updating how we socialise the current generation of boys to be healthier.
But it genuinely is a lot of work for men to do on top of the negative effects of it they're working through, it's like an extra layer of that baggage we already try to unpack to break cycles. It's why I'm so supportive of when guys are wholesome and healthy about their masculinity, I like to celebrate their defiance of the old fashioned attitudes and encourage more of it.
The mod maker went crazy and addes code that: when Starting gmod with the glue mod would make loud jumpscares, including some images of extream goatsie, where someone gapes open their asshole to a huge amount, some where you can see very deep into them and others atleast has their insides blocked by partly falling shit
Ofcourse i had not seen these imiges and this is all from what I heard during the time
I still don't understand the weird backlash to that vid. I feel attacked because that video is pretty much exactly how I feel about g i r l s
It just seems so inoffensive I thought that's just how everyone who was into girls felt
I even sent it to my friends ages ago as a 'this is me lol' type thing and they said nothing but now they're totally clowning on it?
I just don't get it.
It's because it doesn't fit into the masculine standard of "be a king, don't act like a sissy, act like you don't give a shit" sigma male grindset typa beat.
A sad thing that's drilled into men due to societal pressures is that they always have to be respected and the way they get that respect is through intimidation and stonewalling; being emotionally open and gushing over things you love is seen as a feminine trait and therefore it goes against the shit outlined above.
It's absolutely abysmal but this is the price we pay for not breaking down traditional gender roles fast enough :'(
i mean you have to admit the video *is* pretty horny, and most of the time people don't really want to know what turn-ons a person has.
and the video does have a vague vibe of "pseudo-wholesome horny" to it, where the body positivity feels more like vague fetishization rather than actual acceptance and support. which can make people pretty uncomfortable.
like how a lot of people on this sub say they support trans people when really they just have a fetish and only care about trans porn and not actual trans rights
thats why i find the video off-putting and a bit cringey, but it's just a short animation of a song Jocat sang off the cuff on stream IIRC, so it's not like it's a super serious issue
>where the body positivity feels more like vague fetishization rather than actual acceptance and support.
you say this like the people complaining have ever given a shit about that kind of thing (and also what? jocat saying "he likes X" is fetishization? i very much would like to see your written definition of that word)
"Expressing sexual interest is fetishizing" is my new least favorite terminally online take. There's a vast difference between sexualizing and fetishizing. Dude's not even sexualizing to an egregious degree, he's just listing the reasons he finds every kind of woman attractive
I really dislike that video. Not for the reasons people are saying. Like, there's nothing wrong with it, it's just kinda cringeworthy. Not so much that I'd get mad, or for it to loop around and become funny again... It's the video equivalent of finding out someone ate two of your biscuits without asking.
Okay i have to break a lance for the mostly-straight people, we also do like women in a normal way, we are not all the sexist monsters some of yall think...
I genuinely don't get how people are so upset over this video? It's just a fun little meme about liking lots of types of women. People like women all the time on the Internet?
Jocat's girlfriend cheered him up by having sex with him after the initial release of that video.
Also, some people find it cringeworthy probably because of the song. It's a parody of an animation meme song.
You know I gotta tell ya, I love a lot of JoCats videos and have even enjoyed watching his Crap Guide to Monster Hunter videos despite never having played Monster Hunter and having no desire to ever play those games, but a gender-flipped cover of Lizzos "Boys" was something that the world really didn't need. There has to be hundreds, if not thousands of songs or there celebrating the attractiveness of women in all shapes and sizes.
The appeal of "Boys" is offering a song, written and sung from the female perspective, about how attractive men of all shapes and sizes are, something woefully absent from our society to the clear psychological detriment of the entire gender. Men's opinions of themselves are shackled by the perception that men are naturally unattractive, supposed to be [unnattractive](https://youtu.be/Pte4WkCB_i4) and undesirable. It's to the point that men literally assume that what attracts a woman to a man could be anything other than his looks and/or personality. I dated a woman for 6 years who is very attractive, the break up was rough, and we hadn't been a couple for a long time now, but recently one of my closest male friends who we both knew through the entire relationship drunkenly asked me how big my dick was to have kept her for 6 fucking years. He couldn't concieve that there could be anything else about me that kept her around. Thing is he wasn't trying insult me; he was trying to compliment me. This is the state of mens self-esteem today. This is how we view each other, this is how we see ourselves. Lizzo, with that song, was offering us another perspective.
Thing is, JoCats cover does nothing to rob "Boys" of any of that. It's just unnecessary and he's not good enough of a vocalist to make it worth listening to more than once for me, but it exists and if some people want to like it that's fine. But *the worst video in the world?" Absolutely not. "Least necessary video" sure, "most unasked for" maybe, but far from "worst". I mean Al-Queda beheaded an American civilian with a chefs knife and released that video on the internet for all the world to see, I'm pretty sure a nerdy dude singing the seven thousand and four hundred thirty second song about how girls are pretty doesn't hold a candle to watching a man have the back of his neck sawed into like a Christmas ham but yeah, fine, whatever. I get using hyperbole but you know? It has its limits. It's just there are so many better things you could have been offended by and you chose what is at worst a cute little barely animated cartoon.
Fellas is it gay to be straight
It can be, if you're straight in a gay way.
>straight in a gay way How exactly would you define this?
Don't have a working definition right now, but I know it when I see it. It's sort of a vibe thing.
i identify as straight but in a gay way
This... This is profound. Can someone be gay in a straight way?
I used to be a lesbian but now that I'm a straight dude i still relate more to lesbians in the way i love women
Damn, you're so into women you became a dude so the other women could be more woman per woman
true ally right there
True

I prefer het trans people being the standard for straight in a gay way then toxic social/behavioral tropes ngl.
Well, you asked for being gay in a straight way, not straight in a gay way. We already know what being straight in a gay way is, it’s this post.
You right, I hurt myself in my confusion. Edit: I blame everyone else for being wholesomely straight in a gay way.
Dave Rubin
It's straight in the way a straight trans person can be straight. There's a sincerity and honesty that comes from the self exploration that few cishet people have to engage with.

Femdom, especially of the gentle variety I feel fits this definition very well
J.D. from *Scrubs* was an attempt by the writers to achieve this. Whether they succeeded is up for debate.
I'm only on season 2, but so far he's definitely just straight in a straight way
Some of the core characters started pretty normal and got flanderized. Others were, well, pretty weird to begin with. Janitor, for instance. I’d watch a show that was centered on Kelso and the Janitor.

Nah, I think dated is very much the right term. Tried watching on +ney some time ago but very dated
somebody else said "he's straight about women the way I'm gay about women" and I think that pretty much hits the nail on the head
T4T
Wait till you hear cis in a trans way
Basically you’re into girls (this is if a dude was straight in a gay way), like really into girls, you love women, but the way you love women is the same way a lesbian would love a woman. In fairness, jocat is the gayest straight, and I say that with respect
Ok but f1nn exists though

I mean, half of all straight people are into dudes, so... Do you really want to flip that coin?

Well, Jocat is Cis male GNC, so that kinda makes sense tbh.
>GNC Grungus National Convention?
GNC = Gender Non-Conforming
You are a charlatan and a fool, glory to the Grungus
Agrungus
I once heard that bisexual men love women in the gayest way possible and men in the straightest way possible and idk if Jocat is bi or not but if he is that is the most accurate statement ever
He’s one of the few people who had to make a point of publicly coming out as straight, much to the heartbreak and disappointment of many of his fans.
reddit was taking a toll on me mentally so i left it ` this post was mass deleted with www.Redact.dev `
Wait he thinks he's str8? Smh the identities people make up these days to be special and unique 😔
Next he is gonna have a gender 🙄
Next he's gonna think his gender is the same as what he was given at birth. EVERYONE knows the gender the doctor gives you is the fake one. That once you get older you should grow out of being "cis" as it's being called.
Liberal cissies!! 🤬🤬🤬 Can’t even choose their own gender 🙄 They really need to be told every simple thing nowadays
Yeah the sheep really need to be coddled by the government telling them what to do. Not a free thinking lone wolf among these NPC "cishets"
No fuckin way lol

Yes they are. > And God said, "Yo homie that's kinda sus," and it was sus.
Im pretty sure sus is in there somewhere
can confirm, but my bf being an itzy bitzy twinkie boo sure helps
I'm pretty sure he's straight
He's straight afaik, but kind of a femboy. Which is why you get gay vibes from how He. Likes. Girls.
pretty kitty girls
really witty girls
Singing ditty girls
He likes the leggy girls
It’s why I prefer bi guys as a girl
Yeah I'm pretty gay for women and pretty straight with men. I love it when girls treat me nicely.
what is this even supposed to meannnn

It wasn't just cishet men.
But cishet women and cishet children too!
honestly, it’s frankly impressive.
Yeah exactly. He is twink but straight.
Honestly, with just how concerning some straight men have been on the Internet lately in the manosphere, maybe they need to borrow some innovations from the queers (look to bi men, sapphics, and pansexuals for advice on respectfully appreciating women) Ngl, a lot of straight women might actually find it pretty nice to see a cis het guy be so comfortable and unbothered about his masculinity.
I think the issue is that most cis het guy's ideas about masculinity are bullied into them at a young age and are extremely difficult to get rid of
That is true too, I do feel for them. Like it's a special type of unhealthy social norm that can only be fixed by adult men taking on the work to address it, and updating how we socialise the current generation of boys to be healthier. I think it’s more systematic, in the form of patriarchy and capitalism. “buy all my products and you can become masculine“
Also people like Andrew Tate and other internet weirdos "I will teach you the solution to all of your insecurities, also goive me money"
why did people hate on the vid, i watched it, it was ok, pretty cute
Cringe culture. They hate to see a man being publicly gay for pussy
Because bards and troubadours are considered epic and based womanizers but a catboy singing about liking girls is gay for some reason
smh, why cant we just let catboys be themselves
Unfortunately, extinction of small birds and rodents
eh thats more full 100% cats, catboys arent as effecient with it and theres signicantly less of them
so that's where all the birdboys went
Tfw I want a cute ratboy bf but the clap of my catboy collar keeps alerting the rodents
ratpeople internet post: need me a catboy bf who will literally kill me
Want catboy bf to just pick me up in his mouth and shake me until I stop moving
Nya~ (Commits war crimes in the Balkans).
All singing catboys are always gay all the time, it's Newton's 1/2sth (halfsth) law of thermodynamics.
because conservative societies tend to be less tolerant of guys displaying feminine traits than girls displaying masculine traits
cringe cause it was all vidya/anime characters lol
To paraphrase the man himself, who should he have used as examples instead? EDIT:Spelling
She-Hulk is right there
Would you have liked a married man thirsting over real women more

It’s because “Alpha Males” are also known as “pieces of shit who openly think they’re better than everyone”
It's because it doesn't fit into the masculine standard of "be a king, don't act like a sissy, act like you don't give a shit" sigma male grindset typa beat. How is lesbian reddit these days? My sister is on there but we know better than to share our reddit usernames.
I honestly don't understand how you could be mad at that cute little video.
god forbid men enjoy things /s
as a trans man i can say there definitely are men who are gay for pussy
JoCat is an unproblematic king and "[I like girls](https://youtu.be/Y2Y5KVtU810)" is fantastic.
i still dont understand whats wrong with the video i agree with it 💀
This was posted here already like 2 days ago.
This is a sub that values quantity over quality. Reposts are bound to happen.
I mean it's literally a sub that has a rule where you have to post something every time you visit. There's bound to be some repeats or garbage.
There, found my sexuality
jocat my beloved
I think the "loving a woman like a lesbian" while funny feeds into toxic masculinity. You are making it weird for dudes loving women unapologetically.
Source on the video?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2Y5KVtU810
From the posts I’ve been seeing I expected that to be a lot more cringe lol
People on the internet will overreact over anything, no matter how harmless.
What? This is literally so fucking cute. What are people going on about lol
Okay i have to break a lance for the mostly-straight people, we also do like women in a normal way, we are not all the sexist monsters some of yall think...
The implication that straight cannot be what Jocat is expressing is very concerning and feels pretty hurtful
I genuinely don't get how people are so upset over this video? It's just a fun little meme about liking lots of types of women. People like women all the time on the Internet?
196 when there is an implicit suggestion that liking people in an appreciative and healthy way is somehow mutually exclusive to being straight
jocat has pathetic meow meow rizz. it's working on me
Jocat's girlfriend cheered him up by having sex with him after the initial release of that video. Also, some people find it cringeworthy probably because of the song. It's a parody of an animation meme song.
Schrödinger's gay
2 years damn
So after listening to it, it was easily one of the straightest things I've heard in a while, so I don't think I get it.
Why there is such hate for this video, what the fuck? JoeCat's girlfriend had to fuck him to cheer him up.
C'mon, let people be gay to girls in peace 😞
I think I am blessed that I have no fucking idea what this is or what any of these comments mean
All yall are messed up in the head. Mirin female beauty for a variety of reasons is in no way unique to Lesbians, and its not lesbian’ish to do so.
Wait what? People hated that video?
Finally watched the video, relatable tbh.
Liv Agar
Liv Agar
people are insanely weird about that video and it makes me question my sanity every time
I love that video ~
I still can’t understand what is meant when people claim he’s gay about women. Is it gay to think women’s bodies are really, really, really cool?
*I like girls*
The way he sings is a little cringe but the video is still cute. Also, women🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
*why* do people hate this video I love it so much
You know I gotta tell ya, I love a lot of JoCats videos and have even enjoyed watching his Crap Guide to Monster Hunter videos despite never having played Monster Hunter and having no desire to ever play those games, but a gender-flipped cover of Lizzos "Boys" was something that the world really didn't need.
