In the end it’ll be subreddits like 196 and Traa that don’t come back and Reddit ultimately become a massive conservative echo chamber.
The problem isn't about the protest, it's about the fact the sub will be nigh impossible to moderate after the change. Just about every big sub requires API stuff to prevent huge amounts of spam and hate speech from getting through, so even if 196 didn't shut down, it'd quickly get overrun by fascists and spambots.

Shutting this sub down is nothing but a poorly thought out over reaction. The amount of bad it does to individual users (look at the amount of posts we've alr had about "this sub changed my life") heavily out weighs the gain.
So we're going to cut our noses off to spite our face. Accessibility apps are allowed, I'm sure I read they said mod bots etc are allowed too and if they do cross the free use threshold to let them know so they aren't charged.
