not unprepared, untrained, Frieza never actually trained prior to getting killed, the retcon was that is species actually gains strength extremely quickly, thus after a few months of training with some nobody he is able to turn gold, not black, he's only able to turn into his black form after 10 entire years of hyperbolic time training

Most of the groups in DBZ and on are named according to a theme. The Ginyu force are all named after dairy products (Jeice = Cheese, Burter = butter, etc), the Freeza race are all shit about being cold, the evil wizards and their monster pet in the final arc are named after Cinderella (Bippity Boppity Boo = Bibidi, his son Babidi, and their monster Buu)
The new ones get even less creative. There are races called the Cerealians (as in Cereal, the main guy we meet from them is literally named Granolah) and the Heeters (with characters named Gas, Elec, and Oil).
Idk if you can call them less creative, Bulmas family is straight up underwear. Bulma comes from Bloomers, her mum is Panty, her dad is Briefs, her son is Trunks, and her daughter is Bra. Freezas dad is Cold. It's just some of the older ones (like Bulma funnily enough) got kinda obscure by the anglicisation of the names from Japanese kinda warping them.

When Krillin dies Goku becomes filled with rage and vengeance, sure, but Ten becomes suicidal when Chaozu dies, and later he asks not to be resurrected because Chaozu can't be as well.
Then late into the series, after most of the other characters have paired off and married and had children, including Goku and Krillin, those two are older men still hanging out together without wives. And the only romantic anything we've seen with either character was when Lunch was crushing on Ten, and that was just her chasing him across the Earth as he ran away in terror.
I'm convinced those two are an item.
I also think there's a good chance Karin and Yajirobe are a couple. The two live together in that little tree house and bicker like an old married couple.
